We stayed at the Olympic in february but because it was part of the H top group we could use any of the H top hotels within the area. I do believe that there is a bus that takes you to other H top's in the area but we were happy to walk the 2 minutes from our hotel to the Calella Palace which was Awesome.

Haven't stayed in any of these hotels but have been in the Royal Sun and the Calella Palace for a drink ........... Royal Sun wins hands down , location is perfect right on the beach .

hi....again....mandy..........should have made my last post more clearer.
the free bus between the different resorts/h.top hotels as now started .
if you book the night before in the hotel you are staying in .
it gives you the right to the free bus and also drinks/lunch/snacks e.t.c..
just show the ticket to the driver.
on marks out of ten in my own opinion.the royal sun is a 10,the amika a 9,the casino hotel -10 .
any more information please ask on forum or p.m. me
regards.......john-doe.........

8) Thanks for all your replies Ive now booked the Royal Sun, I booked the accomodation through Ferris Coaches, was just looking for information on the hotels and came across this website, works out slightly cheaper than alpha rooms, travel republic etc. I like a bargain and every little saving helps.

You have made an excellent choice as the Royal Sun is a nicer hotel, between Santa Susannah and Malgrat, and their are a couple of h-top hotels within walking distance(planamar, santa susannah apartments),also you can use the free bus to get around even if it is a bit irregular.
Regarding hotels in other resorts the Casino Royal (assuming it has not been recently renovated),has in my opinion the best bar but the most stairs and the grubbiest rooms and noisiest location, however is where the market is ,while the Royal beach and Royal star in lloret are 4star but family orientated, and the Pineda palace and Paradise park are where its nice to get away from it all,and the Amaika and Calella Palace are 4star and near the shopping precinct and ideal for shopping, and the olympic has the best pool in my opinion.
So if you do use the free bus to get around dine out 4star,drink 3star,and shop till you drop.
Bon Voyage!

We are going to the Calella palace in September. Does anyone know how much the coach costs for the two free trips?

last year we payed 8 euros each person

Thanks we thought they might try to charge a large amount because the trips are free

We have just come back on Monday we stayed in the Olympic, and agree with everything Bird said earlier in this post, but we didn't like the Casino Royal, we found it dirty, grotty and noisy.

We paid 12 Euros for the return coach fare this year to the free trip, but I believe that if you weren't staying in an H Top Hotel then the trip to the medieval night would have cost 40 euros in which I would not have gone. Not sure about the other trip.

Having just got back from Brava, we thoroughly enjoyed the Pineda Palace. The place is far more relaxed than the Calella Palace. We visited the CP over Christmas, and found it noisy, dirty and not very appealing. Then we tried the 4* in Lloret( Beach?) this June, and boy were we glad we'd gone for the Pineda.
One of the things that swung it for the Pineda was that it sells Pepsi on draught, not rola-cola. That makes a great difference when all you drink is soft drinks. And there is a private jacuzzi and sauna, which you book 24 hrs in advance, and have them all to yourselves for an hour(minimum). Pineda itself doesn't have a great deal to offer, but its only a 20mins walk to Calella, and just over an hour on the train to Barcelona. You can try other hotels in the H.Top range, as we have, and get free transport to them, so long as you book 24 hours in advance. we'll be booking again very soon.

Is anyone going to be at the Calella Palace at the beginning of July? We want to enjoy the nightlife and would like maybe to make some new friends while we are there!

Send me a message!
