Just got back late last night. Found Goa to be a wonderful place and can't wait to get back! Thanks to oap for my wristband. No one spotted mine but I did sit next to a lady with one on at breakfast who turned out to be Gemma! Nice to meet with you and your husband Gemma.
The Marinha Dourada is a wonderful hotel set in beautiful surroundings. Great location being just a short taxi ride to Calangute or to the northern beaches.
We enjoyed the Holi Festival and got coloured a few times.
Visited many beaches including Coco beach, which wasn't very good but we wanted to do the boat trip around the bay.
We even got a bonus at the end of the holiday by being told our flight home had been cancelled for 24-hours! Excellent...another day on the beach. The down side of this was that the Monarch flight (MON4373) landed at Gatwick and we all had to catch an internal Monarch flight upto Manchester. It took three hours from landing to take off and when you're tired. it's the last thing I could have done with. But hey......an extra days holiday, I'm not complaining!

Welcome back Spinner, so pleased you enjoyed your holiday, we stayed at the MD on our first trip to Goa and loved it

I noticed the monarch flight delay when we are the airport on Friday. Were you told the night before?

Flight MON4373 was due to leave Goa at 7.30am on Friiday morning. We were told that there was a five hour delay the night before, meaning that we could have a bit of a sleep in. However at 4am on the Friday morning, Thomas Cook Operations centre telephoned me to inform me that the flight was now delayed 21 hours and just to stay put in the hotel! (What a blow

We eventually left the hotel at 2am on Saturday morning but didn't take off until 7am
And then we were informed that the flight was going to Gatwick
We all had to get off at Gatwick and check in for a further flight upto Manchester
But hey........I got an extra days holiday
