Sue Allen I've been doing that for many, many years

Yes..I was planning to do that in a couple of weeks time but couldn't think what container to decant it into. What a star you are. I'll save my empty water bottles and fill them. I agree that Travel wash is a load of pants. You need a proper detergent and fabric conditioner. Much better results for sweet smelling undies etc.

Another tip is if you want to dry your socks put them on the ceiling fan in your room, if you have one!

Mmmm Chivas..that sounds interesting! I have bought one of those washing frames with pegs all round and a central hook that you hang up. Cost £2.50 in the market. You can get quite a lot of stuff on it. Also got a travel line from Matalan..think it was about £2. A twisted rope line where you don't need pegs .You slot the clothes through .

The Superdrug travel wash smells a bit like the old stergene for hand washing I find it lathers well, its smell is part of my holiday if you know what I mean

Its not that expensive either, about £1 and it doesn't leak in your case.

Hi hdrac,
I bought one of those lines this year that didn't need the pegs and found it most useful for the balcony, clothes dried in no time. Think mine was from Matalan too.

Hi Bluebabe, didn't realise that liquid detergent had been out for many many years! It's only been out for the last few years in our neck of the woods

I can remember my mum buying Woolite and Stergene when I was a little kid!!!!!! My kids are now 21 and 26, so they have been out a long time!!!

I took travel wash with me for the first time this year, and agree, it was awful. I usually buy a small box of washing powder when I get where I'm going and leave what I don't use.

my goodness SUE I didn't realise Leeds was so far behind the rest of us

I've been using Ariel washing liquid for at least twenty years and before that, as madsue says, Stergene for woolies.

So yes they have been about many many years

No need to fight ladies! Not unless there's mud or jelly involved! :)
It's probably worth taking some of that Oxi stuff thats being advertised, you knoe the one where theres all these satins in a clear bowl and they add 1 little scoop and the stains dissapear before your eyes! And most probably if you swirl the water with your hands your hand will come out just bones! ;)

For the last few years, when on holiday in Spain, we have gone to the supermarket in resort , and bought Ariel mano, hand wash as we know it. Does us for two weeks no problem as you are only washing underwear socks etc. and buying in resort keeps the weight of your luggage down. You`d be surprised how much of your allowance a bottle of liquid soap can take up. We also buy shampoo and shower gel in resort, a little dearer perhaps, but available unless you holiday in a third world country.

I take bottles of shampoo etc with me and leave them there. The extra space/weight is then taken up with bottles of drinks and pressies

Yeh I always leave shampoo e.t.c. I bet the cleaners like people like us.

Ha Ha chivas 69, she started it. Yeh I'd like to see this oxi stuff get my chef whites clean, I put thm on a boil wash and they still have marks on. I don't think that these things are all they're cracked up to be.
