I do exactly the same, as do many of the Symi regulars. You might want to watch both SV webcams in Stereoscope on:

Here but that might make you feel even worse.

Here's a few different webcam views around Greece...

Winter resorts

Cyprus Troodos webcam

On the Troodos webcam if you click on the View previous years it shows a few years previous and the serious lack of snow in 2008/7/6. Many of the Greek snow resorts were hit hard over the last few years due to lack of snow on the lower slopes and minimal snow at higher levels.

The melting snow on the higher peaks feeds the springs throughout summer and the lack of snow over the previous years probably contributed to the raging forest fires Greece suffered last year.

On a clear day you can see the snow covered peaks across the sea from Stoupa.

There's a great cam overlooking Mykonos town that scans around, zooms in on folks walking along, then moves to various parts of the town including the harbour where, again, you see locals walking or driving. It also keeps moving until it finds the island of Tinos. The whole things seems to be done automatically but for me, it is as it's happening and that's great. You can even watch the ships sailing into the harbour. Click on the image that says: 'Live Streaming Cam' at this link:

That is fantastic, beautiful reflections and sky - makes me want to jump on a plane!

Found that webcam when we were going to Crete last summer, it is certainly a more detailed image than most I've seen.
