Just got back from holiday and I would say that this is the best hotel we have ever been to.
Every member of staff from the cleaners/maintenance to bar/restaurant staff were very friendly and always helpful. Bar staff were funny, friendly, efficient, and always joined in the fun and looked out for the kids. The receptionist, Trinni, was lovely and always mage a fuss of the kids.

Food was excellent with lots of choice, and being a vegetarian, this is saying a lot!!! Over the 2 weeks we were there, no main course was repeated.

Rooms were cleaned daily and there also seemed to be a cleaner mopping or sweeping up somewhere. One of the steps in the main swimming pool was broken and within 10 minutes of it being reported, it had been replaced.

Entertainment was largely based for the kids but expected this as it is a Super Family Hotel. The two entertainers (Ash and Wes) were excellent. Always lively and fun but never in your face. Had us in fits of laughter, sometimes unintentially!!! You have to join in with aqua splash in the morning or at least have a giggle at Wes in his outfits and wig!!!
Adults evening entertainment was good but the kids disco was excellent and all the reps joined in. You'll come home knowing the actions to great classics such as Star trekkin', The finger song and the one and only Court of King Caractacus (not sure that is spelt right) by Rolph Harris.
Music was always off by midnight and the bar closed by 1am which menat that you always got a good nights sleep and the kids weren't distured. Didn't feel the need to go outside the hotel in the evening as we already had everything we needed. The reps show on a Wednesday was fantastic and always good for a laugh. If you go, don't miss it.

Reps were fantastic and were always happy to sit and chat even when not on duty and went out of there way often. This also applies to the kidszone reps. Even said hello and chated when you saw them outside.
Loads of choice for excursions for both day and evening trips if your not the type to sit and sunbath.

Would definately go back again, especially if the staff and reps stayed the same.

hi all just arrived back from son baulo and as the others have reported it was excellent. the layout was good for both adults and children, clean, food was too much...with too much choice,staff were very freindly and helpfull.
stayed all day in shennanigans when it rained...ok but too dark in there. we preferred the studio bar opposite, good staff and made the children feel welcome.
rooms are basic but clean .
would go there again.

and of course the germans had their own hotel next door "the concord" so you didnt see many in the son baulo.the pool was covered every night for safety and pool side cleaned every night and morning. keep it up.

My family and i have just returned from our 4th visit to the Son Baulo hotel.
The cleanliness of the whole hotel is brilliant.

The food is beautiful with lots of different choices every night.Children have their own buffet section which is full of their favourite foods.
The desserts are out of this world.You will find it hard to choose.
For breakfast the choice is just as good.
We first stayed at this hotel in 1998 and it just gets better and better every time we go.
If you have children then i strongly recommend this place.Children from 0 years through to 12 years are kept happy all day by all of the on site activities, facilities and kids clubs. We found the clubs to be very good.
The entertainment this year has been the best we have ever had. All praise for that must go to Wes. He is fantastic!!! He had us all in fits of laughter every day. He is a true professional and a valuable asset to the Thomson company.
The days entertainment is started by the daily "super Splash". It's not your normal aeorobic session. It's a mini disco in the pool. It is great fun. Wes dresses up for this most days with wigs and funny outfits.
There are lots of activities in the day including volleyball, killer pool, quoits etc and quizes around the pool.
In the evening there is the mini disco for the kids which they all love. All of the reps join in the mini disco. After that Thomson have other entertainers brought in. We saw a lot of fantastic acts during our stay this year including a "Riverdance" tribute,Meatloaf tribute and many more.
The staff at the hotel are all very friendly and helpful. I would strongly recommend this hotel to any families with children under the age 10. My children love this place and we can't wait to go back again.

It's a big early 60's hotel and I wouldn't hesitate to go again.

My little brother is going this year with his 1 year old son, they'll have a great time.

Had a great time, hotel was out of this world. Food 5 stars plus, with a very big selection. Hotel nicely positioned. All hotel facilities good. Rooms very clean.
We cannot commend the Thomsons staff haighly enough. Wes and Ash on the entertainment team have been excellent during a difficult week, they have always had a smile on their faces despite having to keep the troops happy during some awful weather. Kids team reps have done a really good job keeping our son happy. The Son Baul

Its been a wonderful holiday, the staff have been unbeatable, the hotel is well organised and always spotless.

Good location, but a bit far from center (20 minutes walking), but excellent holidays in a superb family orientated hotel: masses for Benjamin to do,the mini disco was unmissable, plus relaxation and entertainment for us.
Great food, best we have had in all our years of coming to Majorca. Great place, service friendly. Use of a coutesy room before departure.
A T.V. in room would have been useful during bad weather, but there are 3 tv rooms.

This was no way a 3 star hotel. Overun with children who dominated he hotel. The restraunt service was poor, limited to 1 knife /fork for 3 courses - never a hotel who knows how to treat a client. You needed to guard cutlery between courses. Food was blan , english canteen style, better food on motorway cafe. Run for english afmilies who want sun but not spain or their food. Reps were only interested in selling high priced excursions which we bought locally at 18 euros which thomsons chareged 50 euros for same excursion (Try Toscana excursions). Many couples put in hotel and not warned about children ! NEVER AGAIN !!

I arrived at the hotel feeling worried after reading some of the reports posted on this site.

It took very little time to realize I had made the the right choice for me and my family. During my stay, if i were to be critical of anything it would be of one of the female kids entertainers who was about as much use as a chocolate fireguard. Sorry, I forgot to mention Michael Schumacher who drove the bus to Alcudia. Joking aside a wonderful break and well worth a second visit.

This is a Superfamily hotel. This should be a 4 stars hotel for situation, service and food. EXCELLENT FOR FAMILIES.

We have been going for 27 years. Very clean hotel, food excellent such a variety. English,international, spanish and mallorcan food. Eggs and bacon and much more at breakfast. Daily a traditional spanish dish at dinner, together with more than 10 other dishes. A mallorcan dinner once per week...perfect.

Staff very very friendly, professional and very helpful.
Enjoyed very much Thomson excursions as Son Amar , Marineland and Mega Day

We were extremely satisfied with everything. Excellent holiday overall and we hope to return and we recomend to anybody.
