We had a really great family holiday. Was a bit concerned to read some reports that the food wasn't good, but we found it excellent. The hotel has a great deal to offer in terms of its pools, location and friendly atmosphere. Just one tip, take your own hairdryer as we were unable to hire one in August. The daily children's entertainment comprised a programme of activities which took place near the pool at 10.00, 11.00, noon, 15.00 and 16.00. Each session lasted about 15 mins. For the pre-teens this comprised artwork, games, darts and water polo. The resources were very basic, but our children enjoyed themselves on the occasions they joined in. There was a separate programme for teenagers and adults.

We arrived at the hotel not knowing what to expect having read some of the bad comments. We found ourselves in block B, the rooms were small but adequate.

We had an interconnecting door if our children needed us. The room was cleaned daily the only critisism was that the floors where not cleaned very well but the bathroom was cleaned daily.

We have an 11 year old who is very funny with her food, by the middle of the week she was eating all sorts. The food was hot and there was plenty of it and a good variety, there were alternatives to chips and pasta. You can go back as much as you like for food.

The drinks were on the pricey side so we took drinks in for the children, alot of people did it and no one said anything.

As for the drinks being watered down at the bar I asked for a single shot of vodka and had to tell the bar man to stop pouring, they did not expect a tip and came to your table to take an order, they worked very hard and were always pleasant.

The younger kids loved the mini disco but the shows were a bit tiresome as they did them in about 6 languages ( this was funny at first).

A good tip to pass on is to buy a lilo from the shop across the road as there are not enough sun beds around the pool, the beds are expensive on the beach. We passed our lilos onto some other people when we left as I suspect if they were left in the rooms they were washed and taken back to the shop to be resold.

Also if the lady in the shop says there are no cheap lilos left, go away for 10 minutes and then go back, she will have restocked from the store room. The beach is beautiful and the water very safe and shallow, there are also alot of grassed areas in the hotel grounds which were well maintained.

We went to the market on the local bus this was 15 euros cheaper than the reps trip and you got as long as you wanted, the buses were full though, but only a 25 minute journey.

The hotel did get noisy when people came in late, generally germans being very loud and even knocking on doors. We all had a really good holiday and anyone who critisises this hotel too much need to get a life. It is a three star hotel, you dont get 5 star service, it is clean the staff are pleasant and the kids love it and after all it is aimed at famlies.

We were looking for a quite holiday because my partner is pregnant, so Menorca was perfect. First the positives. The staff from cleaners to entertainment were superb. The rooms were cleaned everyday and the bar and entertainment staff were excellent.

The pool and beach are top class, with plenty of space so you are not disturbed. My advice would be to take the sight seeing train to Makaret where you will find a superb restaurant (on the right when you stand infornt).

If you go to Aranell don

Ignore bad reports that you see on this hotel. Yes there are 2 blocks, the main difference's are 1: Sea View 2: Fridge

These are all questions you are asked when you book. We stayed in Block B and we found it to be very adequate. The rooms overlooked the pool which was very nice.

The food is buffet style and there is always something for everyone every night of the week, as avery night the menu changes (The food is the same in both restaraunts). To try and accomodate the taste of hundreds of people each night all with different favourites when it comes to food is hard, but something i feel the hotel achieves.

The hotel grounds are very child friendly lots of things for everyone to do. The hotel entertainment team provide activites for kids teenagers and even the adults so if your not the person who likes the sunbathe all day but do things then this is great, these rangr from archery pistol shooting, volleyball, waterpolo the list goes on. The kids entertainment is also very good with loads of games and activites provide for them. If your not into activites then the hotel still have two pools 2 kids pools and a jacqussi.

The entertainment at night is aimed at everyone. It starts of with a kids disco,

Then Bingo, follwoed by a show either put on by the entertainment team or a professional act.

Would definitely stay in this hotel again. Got home couple hours ago from a one week half board stay. Stayed in this resort 14 years ago on our honeymoon and revisited with our 2 children. Don't expect too much for older children, but younger children will love it.

Definitely worth upgrading to superior room with sea view. Absolutely stunning. Immaculately clean hotel complex, maids do fantastic job, smells fresh and clean every day we walked back into our room, extremely friendly smiley staff.

I reckon with just a bit more effort they could upgrade from being just a 3 star. Hotel food is good standard and healthy fresh produce.

Can't understand why some people slate quality of food in previous reviews, but some people just like boring greasy English rubbish style food.

Loads fresh salads of all sorts varieties/dishes, fish, chicken, veal, paella, pasta, meatballs, etc....all tastes great...only thing failing it is food needs to be kept hotter.

Whatever you do, don't catch the little train ride, costs 6euros each which can add up to quite a lot for a family for what is really a 20 min shuttle around local area where driver drops you in a little resort for an hour where nothing at all for anyone except a small cafe.

He must have a deal with the locals to drop off unsuspecting tourists into their village to keep the village folk in business. Total waste of time and money for anyone.

Seriously, there is nothing there at all and you could easily walk it from the hotel. One other thing, although you can pay for a mini fridge in your room, take plastic cups with you in your case.

Glasses are not allowed in the rooms and if the maids come across them, she has her instructions to remove them.

Summary: hotel is good value for money in a stunning location.

After reading a some reports we were a bit apprehensive about this hotel.

On arrival we were glad that we had upgraded to the superior room as the restaurant is so much nicer, not sure if the rooms are as nice as we didn't go in any of the others.

The hotel looks not too nice from the outside but the inside is excellent and kept very clean. The views from the restaurant and balcony were stunning, much better than we expected. The food was of a very good standard and there was always something nice to eat or try each day.

The entertainment staff were very good and seemed to be always working either during the day or at the evening entertainment. There are 5 pools two of which are childrens pools and one is an adult only pool.

I would recommend this hotel to friends but to make sure they upgraded to the superior block.

Like many others I went looking for details on upcoming holiday and found the vast majority to be very complimentory. There were however a hand full that did cast some doubt.

Well the holiday exceeded our expectations. Both myself and my children got involved in everything and had a fantastic time.

The food...well yes it might not always have been has hot as you would serve at home, but then howmany of you let your children serve them self in the kitchen at home... If the hot plates had been as hot as some might have preferred I am sure we would all be reading more about how our children got burnt. This was simply not the case. As for the food being boring, yes I can see that happening when you take a helping of every single dish available each day of the first week.

We loved the food and the children tried lots of different things.

Entertainment...the animacion team were probably the most hard working of all the staff there. They were constantly working throughout the day and evening. As for talented I have never played Bingo in 5 different languages before which was quite amusing.

I would give the entertainment team 10 out of 10. To anybody about to go on there holidays, join in the activities there great fun and a fantastic way to meet new people.

We met some great people and hopefully we might see you again next year same time!!!

We have just returned from Holiday and we had a great time ideal for children between 2 and 12.

Good entertainment for the children in the day time and for adults if you wish to take part. The night time entertainment not so good!

The Hotel is very clean and the Domestic Staff work hard. We were in Block A which we paid extra because of previous reports we had read. On speaking to friends we had met who were in Block B, they were satisfied (it looks like Block B as been modernized with aircon)

The rooms in Block A do not appear to be any bigger, so it proberly is not worth paying alot more for Block A !

The food was fine (buffet style)and if one did not find some of the food to your liking you could just get more of what you did like!

The Pools were very good, could just do with a few more sunbeds.

The view from the Hotel to the sea/beach was fantastic and the beach was only one minute's walk from the Hotel. Not alot to do at night, but there was inflatable Whales at 3.5 euros for 2 hours and adults could have a drink and watch the children with views across the Bay (10 mins walk from Hotel) and inflatable Dinosaur and Trampolines 5ins the other way 5 euros for as long as you like, again a bar at the side. Water only 1.3 euros for 5 litres in Supermarket on site and the wine was also well priced in the Supermarket.

One big tip for the children, wear socks or soft shoes in the pools the bottom of the pools was making young children

I am finding this very difficult because although I found the hotel to be not the best I have stayed in overall I have had a fantastic holiday!

First of all the food - not the best - but plenty of choice and we always found something to eat that we liked. Would have liked to have seen more local dishes. We did have squid one night but would have loved to have had a paella.

Cleanliness - not a problem. The only complaint about the maid I had was she always left our patio door open. One day we came back the patio door wide open - tv on - and a toblerone packet on the dresser! We were only on the 1st floor and I did complain to our rep about that. Someone else was complaining their maid had left the door to the corridor open!

Location could not be better - the bay is gorgeous!

Pools - beautiful but if you weren't down by approx 7a.m. to put out the towels you had no chance of a bed! It is a shame because there is loads of room for more beds. We never got a bed and used the beach - one day we saw an older couple pay for a couple of beds on the beach and carry them up the steps to the hotel! We also saw children with cut feet from the pool floor.

Entertainment was good the team worked hard but it was rather predictable.

Our rep was great - could do enough to make sure you had a great time.

Overall despite all its faults we really enjoyed it - I thought my daughter (aged 16) would be bored but she has asked if we can go back before the end of the season. I would certainly go back on a last minute deal but wouldn't want to pay full price for this hotel.
