My husband, my three year old daughter and I have just returned from the Taurus Park after having a really fantastic holiday experience there!! When we booked we wanted somewhere that was suitable for children, and this was definately the right place.

There was something to do for children of all ages right from 3 to 12. The kids clubs were brilliant. My daughter went almost every day, met lots of new friends and they did something different every day - even a treasure hunt throughout the hotel. It was also really nice to have some time to ourselves whilst she was at the Kidzone and it was all very professional and the reps were all trained appropriately in child care, just like here in the UK.

The hotel was very clean (cleaners seemed to be there all hours) but unfortunately the cleanliness in the rooms was disappointing. The maid just made the beds (which only got changed once a week), and put some bleech down the loo, that's about it. The floor was always dirty and the bathroom tiles over the shower didn't seem to have been cleaned. However, it was basic and didn't pose a problem as you only sleep in there, so don't let this put you off.

The hotel food was very good. Lots of choice, nicely cooked food with a chef cooking fresh items daily at both breakfast (pancakes / omelettes) and in the evening (steak / kebabs). The children's buffet was a little bit disappointing, only 3 dishes to choose from, but because there's so much more it didn't cause any problems!!!

The hotel is situation accross from the beach, separated by a main road and railway line. Please don't let this put you off. The road was safe to cross and the locals alway's stopped to let you cross which was really nice. The railway line is a coastal service and although the trains are frequent, you didn't really notice them much and it definately didn't put us off.

The hotel staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. Our daughter was ill during our stay and we had to seek medical attention. The reception staff spoke perfect English and through the help of the FANTASTIC Thomson 24 Hour Helpline, they arranged for a local English speaking GP to visit our room and attend to our daughter. All bar and waiting staff were very friendly.

The entertainment, well what can I say? It was brilliant. They had a tot's disco every night from 7.45pm, then a mini disco from 8.30pm. Prize presentations at 9.45pm and then the main show starting at 10.00pm. However, although it was good fun and kids loved it, it was the same every night, so it did get a bit 'annoying' listening to 'Agado' and 'Star Trekking' every night.

The daily entertainment team were fantastic with all sorts of games and competions going on all day every day. Hannah was in charge of the Thomson entertainment and was brilliant. Kelly (who I think must have been there for years) was in charge of the hotel entertainment team and was amazing. They definately deserve gold medals for the hours they put in and you never saw them without a smile on their face.

I would definately recommend this hotel to families looking for a good 'children friendly' entertainment and hotel based holiday. I would like to go back again, but we will definately be trying other Thomson Superfamily Holidays elsewhere for comparison.

Just stayed at this hotel with my family. Stayed there when I was small. This hotel is brill for families lots going on with entertainment staff working round the clock.

BIG bonus the inside area of the hotel e.g. the bar is now none smoking a plus for those with children.

The food was lovely with different menu offered each night .On the minus side this hotel proved to be noisy with children running riot with little control from their parents.

This hotel benefits from 2 outdoor pools, 1 indoor and lots of loungers. There is even a soft play and zoo so plenty for children of all ages.

Would recommend it to anyone thinking of going there.

From the minute you get there you are looked after by the lovely staff.

The breakfasts have improved since last year, they have proper saugages, not those skinny ones. They also have themed nights on mondays Chinese or Spanish and a gala dinner on a Friday.

The hotel is cleaned 24/7 if you can stay up long enough you will see the night time cleaners come in, they work all the time.

The location is away from night life as you have it all at the hotel.

The hotel staff are really nice and helpful, and if you need anything they will do there best for you.

Entertainment, well they have new show's which arevery good this year and the entertainment staff are the best we have had for a few years, last year they were good but this year they have getting even better, so well done to Joanea, micheal, peter, Mikea, and ANNE from Germany, she is back again for a 3rd year, and the best till last Kelli from England.

It was our last night on friday and everyone was in tears again, it just goes to show you that everyone had a fab holiday, even my daughter Sam loves the staff ( Kelli & Anne) were her fav. SEE YOU ALL AGAIN NEXT YEAR

Hello just thought I would let you know we have booked up to go again, but this time in august, I know already that (anna mini club rep) and peter and mikea will be back, and of course our Kelli.

This is going to be our 11th time back at this hotel in August, it is has a variety of meals for everyone.

The hotel is cleaned 24/7.

The location is in the middle of 2 towns - turn left out the hotel for Pineda 10 minute walk and to the right 10 mins to Callela.

I wish this hotel was 4 or maybe 5 star, as there is not a bad thing to say about the hotel and its staff. We come back to the hotel time and time again, and hopefully will still be goin until I am a pensioner, then maybe I will enjoy the Habana bar where the oldies go, and the quiz nights are held. We have watched the entertainment over the years and they just get better they never stop, and we have made great friends with the families that live out there.

Cannot wait for August, maybe we could sneak a week at May 1/2 term.

Hello, can I just tell all you people, this hotel was called Taurus park hotel, now its been changed to the Golden Taurus park resort.

When they made the alterations in the winter 2005 we were really surprised at how much work went in to the hotel, and in May 2006 we were pleased as they made it a no smoking hotel, you can smoke on the outside terraces, which was fine, but as you can see what ratings I have put, that was our 11th time here and 2007 will be our 12th time.

They say you get what you pay for, well you actually get more at this hotel then any other one I know of.

We are not going back in May, but August for the fayre they have along the prom, the last week in August.

The entertainment is excellent well just read the other reports on Taurus park, further down the list.

We booked this holiday a couple of weeks before and booked Ryanair flights and the hotel with www.hotelclub.net.

This holiday with a hire car (www.carjet.com - recommended) was half the price of booking with a holdiay company.

We had a great week at this hotel and were very impressed.

When arriving at the hotel, the check in was very quick, our key was waiting on the reception desk as they were expecting us.

We were in Room 148 which was overlooking the Olympic pool. The room was a good size for 2 adults, our 5 year old and our 2 year old in a cot. It was very clean and had a large balcony (because we were on the first floor in this part of the hotel - not all balconies were large, in fact some were very small).

The staff were very helpful. We had booked a cot but this was not in the room when we arrived, but after speaking to reception, 5 minutes later, it was delivered to our room and made up for us. Also, our daughter was sick in her cot and on one of the beds and the sheets were changed when asked.

There was a TV which you did not have to pay for. It had English channels although this was controlled from somewhere else in the hotl, so one day you could have BBC, the next ITV but there was always CNN and BBC world for the news.

There are 3 pools at the hotel, an olympic pool, a freeform one with a bar in the middle (this was very good for children as it sloped in so you could gradually walk in to it) and an indoor pool.

The entertainment was very good, run by the hotel animation team and the Thomson Reps. There is a Thomson mini disco first, then a hotel mini disco before the main evening show.

The food was excellent - something for everyone. Huge variety for breakfast including cereals, fruit, bread and pastries, cooked breakfast, cold meats, pancakes and omelettes which are cooked infront of you and are a must!

Evening meals are good, with a good choice for children too with their own buffet corner. Very varied, with a good choice of meat, rice, pasta, fish and some dishes were cooked on the grill in the restaurant (steaks, kebabs etc.). Plenty of fruit for afterwards and gorgeous desserts. Ate far too much in our week there.

The restaurant is very well run. Food is being replenised all the time. There are plenty of good quality highchairs for the little ones. Not sure what it is like in the busy months though, as the hotel was not full and it got quite busy.

The bar seems to be quite reasonably priced for a hotel. There is a Happy Hour - 2 drinks for 1 between 5 and 6 (and at 1am in one of the bars for the night owls). You are not allowed to take drinks from the bar into the restaurant though.

There is an excellent supermarket over the road called Suma which is VERY cheap and well stocked. Cans of Pepsi cost 0.40 euro (30p) You are not meant to take stuff back to the hotel, but everyone does and I think the hotel turn a blind eye.

There are only a few negative comments about the hotel.

The first is how smokey the bar area is. There are some non smoking tables at the front by the stage. The problem is when you enter the bar area to access the restaurant which is in the same area. This is not very pleasant on your way to eat or after you have eaten.

The price of bottled water in the machines is very high - 1.80 Euro (the supermarket across the road sell the same brand for 0.65 Euro and the cheapest is 0.30 euro - worth the short walk!).

The lifts are not very reliable and do not always stop on the floors and you can be waiting for ages. We were only on the 1st floor but had a buggy so often used them.

On our last night there was very heavy rain and we were stuck in the lift for 30 minutes between 2 floors and an engineer had to be called. This was not very pleasant with 2 small children.

Also, the car park flooded, including our hire car (luckily with www.carjet.com fully comprehensive insurance included)! So a word of warning, don't park near the drains as they overflow but the hotel helpfully provided towels to dry it out!

Was very pleased with our stay and will return.

It was our second visit to the hotel where 11 of us they would like to join us. The Hotel was as we remembered it friendly it almost feels like coming home. We travelled at the same time last year and found some of the guest's from last year had also returned which was nice to catch up with them again a big hello to Phil and Emma well done Emma for winning two Diploma's.

The food we felt was even better than last year so much choice so much weight to lose.

We still enjoyed the quiet of the resort as a quick train ride takes you to the more lively places if you wish personally I was happy by the pool.

Entertainment well what can I say Kelli is so good at what she does and as she told us she really enjoys it and it shows It was nice to see Anne again who is a really lovely girl. I won the Miss Golden Taurus Park title to which I have continued with at my work place I now have everyone bowing.

The Hotel was spotless cleaners never stopping.

I would love to return again. maybe next year.

I am 17 and went on the holiday with a friend and her family to where they had visited before and so I had heard great things about the hotel. i was not disappointed as it was amazing there!

The animacion team (reps) were fantastic and during our 2 week stay I felt they took time to talk and chat with everyone. The female reps (Kelli, Anne, and Lorrenna) were all really cool and acted like mates to us teenagers in the group! The male reps (Omar and Oscar) provided many an entertaining moment for us over the two week stay!!there was always something for us to do! They are all a fantastic team of entertainers and I hope that if I return next year they will still be working there!

The nights were good as there was always something on to watch and laugh at or sing along to!!
Anyone who is considering taking young kids with them, the kids zone provided by Thomson is fantastic! They do all sorts of things like have chocolate evenings, mask making nights etc.

The hotel was in a really good position with two towns within walking distance, or if you are too lazy to walk there is the convenient xinou xianou (a tractor type vehicle dressed as a train) to take you there. Calleia was the town about 3/4 of a mile away and it is good for cheap shopping and buying gifts for people.

The hotel is very clean on the whole, although the maid off our floor was quite lazy as the bath mats disappeared on day 3 and didnt seem to return (to both our connecting rooms) which was strange, but overall it was clean.

The food was good for the 1st week as you can work your way around the various different dishes on offer to you, but becomes very boring for the 2nd week as it is all the same things repeated basically. The chinease restraunts in Calleia were very nice and good value for money (nothing like this country!) and the pub/restraunt across the road from the hotel called "Peppe's" does a very nice spaghetti bolagnase and also caters for the weird as they also serve snails and pig trotters. nice.

If you get the chance to, go to Barcelona using the local train (10 mins walk from the hotel) as they are so easy to use. Barcelona is the nicest city I have ever been to, everywhere you look there is something amazing to see.

A visit to the Sagrada Familia is absolutely a must on a visit, as it is the most amazing thing i have ever seen!
I would recommend this area and especially this hotel to anyone who like a holiday to relax on and have things to do when you are bored. It was great!!

The hotel is in a good location because you can travel all along the coast by train from the station that is about 10 mins walk away from the hotel.
The hotel is OK as a base to explore the region.

We enjoyed our stay however as non smokers found the bar area too smokey. You have to queue in this area for the dining room and it is unpleasant to wait for a table because of the smoke.

The restaurant was open until 9pm however eating at 8pm the food although very nice was often cold. The bedrooms were clean but basic with very thin towels in the bathroom.

We would go to Pineda again because of its location to the train station however I think we may try another hotel.

An excellent safe and fun environment for families with children.

The hotel is spotless and all the staff very helpful. The Restaurant manager who resembles Mr. Burns from the Simpson's was a bit officious but I suppose it is understandable.

We found the bar prices reasonable and the snacks also. There is happy hour (2 for 1 between) 5 and 6 in the afternoon. There are nearby convenience stores which sell cold drinks etc. cheaper than the hotel, and many people seemed to use these and bring them back to the pool.

The food was pretty good buffet style with a wide choice. The omelette's and pancakes which they cook to order at breakfast are particularly nice.

The beach is not really suitable for young children as it shelves steeply but it is directly opposite the hotel and ideal for a cooling stroll.

There is a 'wally trolley' which stops outside and goes into Callela which is very close.

The adult evening entertainment was a little tame ( I hate miming )but the younger kids seemed to enjoy the earlier stuff. Not a lot to do for older teenagers I would have thought unless they want to join in with the adults. Many people had returned lots of times and we also are going to return next year with our grandchildren.

All in all a brilliant holiday but not for anyone wanting loads of night life.
