Hi There
I am planning a holiday towards the end of March and I'm on the verge of being swayed to go to Tunisia - more for the cost than anything. I've never thought about it before so I want to make sure I know what I'm getting myself into.
I'm a single male who'd be going on my own. I'm 33 but quite young for my age.
What I'm after is a nice relaxing holiday, but with plenty of nightlife (I like a good meal, a few drinks and a boogie - prefer late bars to nightclubs which I'm too old for) - but without the idiot element.
Whilst I do normally love a bit of culture it's not what I'm looking for primarily this time out.
I'd also like something where I could meet people whilst I'm out there.
I had a trip to Turkey a couple of years ago and went away from the usual tourist locations and the hassle we got from the locals put me off doing something similar (and going back to Turkey) again.
My original idea was to go to the Canary Islands, but have been swayed by the cheaper option of Tunisia.
Do people think I'd find what I'm looking for in Tunisia - and if so could you recommend a resort?
Thanks in advance
Lee

                Tunisia is a Marmite destination.
If you don't like the hassle away from the resorts then you may not like the place at all.
I love Tunisia, I don't generally go to tourist resorts so can't advise on the bars etc, but if you stick to the resorts I guess you'll have a great time, but I fear that you'll struggle to be comfortable in the shops, markets etc.

The weather in March might not be hot. I was there the end of March a few years ago and for a few days the weather was definitely on the cool side but friends who went the same weeks a couple of years later had lovely weather.
In most of the resorts you will be hassled to buy things unless you visit the fixed price tourist shops. Get away from the resorts and into the desert towns and the hassle is still there but doesn't seem to be so 'in your face'. Despite this I really liked Tunisia and will return sometime.
p.s. What is a Marmite destination?

Marmite - you either love it or you hate it!
