the Abrat is a great location, literally five minutes walk from some great sun set bars which should still be open at the end of October, Make a note of bars like coastline, kanya and kasba which are just a couple of minutes walk from you7r hotel. And bars like Mambo, savanha, cafe del mar another five mintues walk, I am staying in the same region in July this year love that part of san antonio more than any other.

You will find that the notorious west end area will mostly likely be closed although you might find a few bars open. As for english, the majority of tourist on the island, well san antonio in particular are english and you will find like minded people around your age and older in the sun set bars as these are a little more up market and cosmopolitan.

Singles over there fit in great too Sam, so not to worry.

I went over there in 2001 after a marriage break up on my own for two weeks and it was fab, stayed around the Bay so was able to sleep on a night but frequented most of the sunset bars and never felt odd being on my own even at being 40!!!

Some female friends of mine have also done the same and have fitted in great.

One other place to look out for is a sunset bar called Kumharas which is around the bay, a little less commercialised that the other bars and frequented by different nationalities and has a mainly hippy feel to it, pricey drinks but then again, you pay for the view.

Thanks again for your help , I've written down the names of the bars and looked some of them up, they do sound great...........

By the way I'll have hit the big 40 by the time I go............

Been to Ibiza at the end off September beginning off October several times and the weathers alway been good,we usually got at least 12 days sunbathing out off 14 so that can't be bad,pool temperature at that time off the year are a bit on the chilly side when you first step in!!!,its a lovely time off the year to go as its not jammed with holiday makers but certainly not quite either..currenty lookin to go again this year at the same time again...

last time I was in Ibiza was August '03 and it was very busy so I'm looking forward to trying out the wonderful Island in October instead.....

It sounds like it will be a good time to go......roll on october........

We've been in the first couple of weeks of October 5 times now and always had lovely weather.
Last October in particular was scorching if a little windy.

Most places stay open until 31/10 but some do close earlier and some of the sunset strip ones were having closing parties while we were there last year which was in the second week of October.

West End is still open, but quieter than the summer.

Nice relaxing time to go.

We were in Ibiza first 2 weeks in October last year and have booked for the first 2 weeks this October as well.
Weather was fantastic and a lot hotter than we expected it to be.
Roll on October, i cant wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
