Needing a bit of medical advice if anyone can help.We are just back from Costa Del Sol(Playabonita hotel, very good). The thing is my better half has to carry a nebuliser with her now,and when we checked in at Glasgow airport they said our case was overweight and i said that i had the nebuliser in my case and i would remove it.I think to save any hold up she then said,do you have a doctors letter for it,and i said no.To save any further hold up she then just said oh just carry on it doesnt matter. It does show you how fickle the airlines can be at certain times.
My question is on the Doctors letter, can any of you experienced people
tell me if a doctors letter is of any way a help when it comes to carrying medical gear on holiday and does it maybe grant you a certain extra allowance in your hold luggage? On the way back i just carried the nebuliser in my hand luggage as they were appearing to be very vigilant at Malaga as well :yikes.I would be much obliged if anyone could fill me in with some info

Make sure you get them to put it in writing though, I turned up one year and they had no record of my extra weight allowance for medical purposes and I was sent to the TO's desk to get it sorted out.
