Hi Jackie
We've been going to Tossa for almost 30 years now, and have tried loads of the restaurants. Our favourite one is Bistro Adrian (formerly El Suizo), where the steaks are fantastic. Don't know if they still do, but they used to get their meat from Perpignan as the cuts were much better than local Spanish butchers. The restaurant is on a corner of the side street leading from the main street to the church.
Also on this street is Ches Igor, a pizzeria with the best pizzas in Tossa. Both restaurants used to be owned by Igor, a Czech who moved to Tossa in the 1980's. He's retired now but the restautants have kept up the standards he set.
The C'an Pini restaurant opposite the main gate to the Via Vella does excellent chicken on their wood burning rotisserie. They have gone upmarket in recent years though and the prices have escalated. Last year the rotoserrie was out of use as the chimney had collapsed, but it might be fixed now. Otherwise there is a much cheaper restaurant called the Diligencia near the bus station. They don't have the same herb stuffing as the C'an Pini ones though!
The Berlin is very well known for its value-for-money menu. You can get three courses for a fixed rate (can't remember what it was last year, but very cheap!)
We'll also be there next month so hope the weather's good!!
