RJorden,
Your flights are operared by long haul Airbus A330-200's. You'll find extensive aircraft information on our What Aircraft? Guide (link below). Seat pitch is 33" although they are a little narrow. I spent 8 hours 20 minutes on one last night!

Could anyone help me out here. I am going to Mexico in Janurary and i am looking at pre booking my seats. I flew premium cabin last time. I am aware that there is no premium service on outbound flights, but i was just wondering if anyone knows if you can pre book these seats for the outbound journey, or if they are allocated at check in?
Thanks in advance
Premium seating from May will become extra legroom (all 2" of it!). These should be available for pre-booking online. Seats not sold are likely to be advertised at check-in for purchase.

Thanks for that, when you're 6ft 4, you appreciate any extra room you can get.
There seems to be some confusion around the ex premium seats. It appears that these can only be booked inbound and they are allocated at random at check in on the outbound. I think it still has something to do with the APD.
Glad to see you back ow was the dom rep all good i hope what hotel did you stay in??
Was the flight ok i finally booked my seats an i went for the seats at the back of the plane in 2's so i hope we have enough space got the 1st 2 behind the last set of 3 with a window seat did you sit any where near to these??
hope you had a great time

I had a great time thanks. I stayed at the Bahia Principe Bavaro. I was more than happy with the flights. Both flights were operated by ex-MYT A332's as expected although the return flight was delayed by 3 hours due to a technical problem with the aircraft on the outbound. It meant a change of aircraft from the one original scheduled, but it gave me time for another cocktail before leaving the hotel! Crew were excellent on both sectors and the flight deck kept us well informed of routing and other information. Seat back IFE was adequate, it's showing its age now with it being the first generation looped system and the screens look small compared to other carriers, but it works fine. The flight cameras are always great to watch when you're landing, especially for those that aren't in a window seat. Seat pitches are fine as you would expect these days with 33" although at 17", the seat widths are a little on the narrow side. This photo is especially for you (that reminds me of a certain song from 2 Australian soap stars!);

This is the rear of the aircraft where the configuration changes from 3-3-3 to 2-3-2. Your seats are the first row of 2-3-2.

Outbound meal; Roast chicken with pees, carrots and potatoes in tomato and mushroom sauce with bread roll. Followed by Lemon pot (cheese cake), fruit (melon), cheese and biscuits. This is served with tea or coffee, Stella (as shown) is extra!

Snack box (outbound); Egg mayo and cheese and tomato sandwiches, scone with jam and clotted cream. Served with a choice of tea or coffee.

Inbound meal; Roast chicken with carrots, green beans and potatoes in gravy and bread roll. Followed by chocolate brownie, fruit (melon), cheese and biscuits. This is served with tea or coffee.

Snack box (inbound); Continental breakfast comprising of fresh orange juice and a blueberry muffin served with tea or coffee. Not much!

can anyone tell wether the seat arms lift up on the long haul planes
No, they don't lift up. They used to, but they are now fixed down in order to prevent damage to the leather seat coverings. Odd ones do lift up that have become lose though.

Unfortunately from Nov 11 no-one will be going to Dom Rep or Cuba Santa Clara with TCX ever again if things dont change in the mean time, they have cancelled their Dom Rep programme, which did seem bizarre when it came through
Is this the start of TC pulling out of long haul?
Hi, flying Man to Sanford soon with TCX, anyone know if headphones for IFE are provided free or if not are the seat sockets the usual 3.5 headphone size or the 2 pin type sometimes found on airlines ?
Sunaddict wrote:Is this the start of TC pulling out of long haul?
That's been happening for a while with a reduction in long haul capacity and with 3 of their Airbus A332's going back to the leasing company in November, it'll be a limited long haul programme. However, having talked to cabin crew over the Atlantic last week, they wouldn't be surprised if this changes over the next month or two and a decision made to extend the lease on 2 of the A332's so we'll just have to wait and see. It would seem strange if Dom Rep flights are pulled given it's one of the more popular (and cheaper) Caribbbean islands to visit.

Headphones are available for purchase at £2.50 per set. You can use your own headphones but you'll need a 2 pin adapter.
