Wow wow wow.... we had 2 whole weeks of relaxing in a fantastic hotel, spoilt for choice where to eat, which pool to swim in, which cocktail to try and where to lie on the beach...

Kids made many friends, rooms spotless, staff so friendly, make sure you eat in the Cuban restaurant.

Would I go back......yes I would

The holiday overall was great.

The food was nice, the staff were friendly and the hotel was lovely.

The hotel was out of the way but there wasn't really anywhere to go.

Our only problem was mosquitoes, they were everywhere! The repellents they sold didn't work so make sure you take some!

The hotel is very big, the pools are lovely.

There is a lack of air conditioned spaces, only your room, the disco bar and the oriental restaurant. We went in June, start of the rainy season and it was very hot and humid so you needed air conditioned areas to go to.

Food was good, always something to eat, but the fact that the restaurants were all open meant that you had to contend with flies and mosquitoes whilst eating.

Hotel was very clean, and when we were there very quiet.

The hotel is kind of in the middle of nowhere, too far from Guadalavaca. Unless you go out on an organised trip you are stuck in the hotel.

Having read previous reviews on this hotel, we were a little concerned about going but having just spent a glorious fortnight there we don't know what the problem was.

Rooms were large and spacious and always kept immaculate.

We tried all of the restaurants in the hotel and were impressed by the A la Cartes. Occasionally the main buffet restaurant got a little crowded and tables were not set etc but the staff tried their best to accommodate you. Best times to eat in the evenings is as soon as buffet opens or later on, avoid 7 - 8.30p.m.

Daytime entertainment was a little lacking but every night the show hall was full and a different show was put on every night.

Having been to numerous Carribean resorts I would certainly rate this as a 4* hotel and would not have a problem returning.

Grand Playa Turquesa only opened in November 2003. Therefore it's "brand new". The staff were wonderful and extremely accomodating.
The service 98% was great.
The weather was amazing - 84 Farenheit in January (wonderful).
The hotel wasn't overly close to too much, but we really didn't care, cuz we were there to "relax"
The food was plentiful. Only occasionally was there a bit of a wait at the buffet tables, but we were on vacation...so we didn't care.
We had heard complaints prior to going, but it wasn't anything major that would keep us away. Any new hotel will sometimes need some "tweaks".
We'd definitely go back.
