It was kind of hard to get to the hotel (booking should be made beforehand, because the resort is very popular,) but it was definitely worth it: clean rooms, original design and perfect service.

I'd visit the hotel again for sure.

We will be visiting again this August for our third holiday to the Alexander. We stay B&B and the Breakfast is excellent, the service times are just right, the staff on duty are every morning very helpful nothing is too much trouble and breakfast would not be the same without Stavros telling you about the theme nights in the hotel.

The breakfast food offered is wonderful, plenty of choice and good quality. The Hotel itself is spotless throughout, the housekeeping staff are always on hand if there is a problem.

The food in the hotel we feel is excellent we have over the years attended all the theme nights, we enjoyed every one, food & service and every year the Hotel adds onto them, they are really good value for money.

The hotel location could not be better, short journey from the airport, shops, restaurants nearby the hotel, the harbour a short walk away and the beach on your doorstep.

The Hotel staff are the best from walking in the door on your arrival nothing is too much trouble for any member of staff, you are really looked after and are made to feel like royalty.

Entertainment last year had improved on the year before, but I feel could be better. The hotel in the evening was quiet, it was busier on the kareoke nights, but on the evenings with the singer & keyboard player it was dead, last year they introduced a beach party, which was fun for adults and children and many people went to this so there is a need for better and more appealing entertainment.

We are going back again in August 2005 for our 3rd year

Hotel was well kept, everywhere was cleaned daily. Rooms were cleaned daily, fresh sheets/towels. Beach towels were also supplied.

We were on B&B basis and only had breakfast in the hotel. There was plenty of choice, ie fruit juices, cereals, bread, salad, dried fruit, fresh fruit, traditional english cooked breakfast, pancakes (DELICIOUS!!,croissants, etc.

The hotel was ideally located just a short walk (approx. 5 mins) to centre of Kato Pahos, where there were plenty of bars/restaurants. We found the best buy for meals were the set menus (around

I would definately recomend this hotel!

The Sun Lounger allocation system is an excellent idea. We chose loungers above the beach which meant that we had a fantastic view and the benfit of a cool breeze. Not having to scramble for loungers on a daily basis really makes a difference to the holiday!

The hotel itself is in a central location (5 min stroll to the harbour) with plenty pubs and restaraunts within easy reach but still in a quiet location.

The only word of warning I have is do not pay for a side sea view. We paid for a side sea view (which was only visible if you were tall enough to lean out of the balcony completely)and ended up with basically the same view as the inland rooms. The sea view rooms however do have an excellent outlook and the mix up we experienced was completely down to the TO and not the Hotel itself.

The only other gripe we had about the hotel was the lack of pool tools at certain points in the week. However the other members of our party never had any problems with the pool towels so it is just down to when your room is cleaned!!

This was our third visit to the Alexander and once again i couldn't fault this hotel at all.The hotel was always spotless, rooms and all public areas. The choice for breakfast was excellent. The location of the hotel is perfect, right on the beach and close to the harbour. There are plenty of good bars and restaurants on the way to the harbour. i would recommend The Six Bells. Turning left out of the hotel i would recommend the Yeamans. All the staff at the hotel are friendly, polite and very helpful. There is a sunbed allocation system at this hotel which is a brilliant idea. You are allocated sunbeds on arrival and these are yours for the duration of your stay. Chris is the man to see about this, he is very helpful especially if you have children he tries to get you next to the kids pool. I would recommend this hotel ten times over and will be visiting again soon. CAN'T WAIT !!!!!!!

It's hard to fault this hotel, the staff are very friendly and helpful, the food is superb although we stayed b&b we did pay to eat in the hotel restaurant which cost between 8 & 12 CyPfood in the local restaurants cost between 5 & 9 for a three course meal.

Entertainment by local dancers was good but didn't last very long, the resident group was two men singing english songs with greek accents and didn't quite sound right (lou reeds 'take a walk on the wild side').

The allocation of sunbeds and towels is a great idea which should be adopted by other hotels (saves trying to beat the germans to the pool). One thing to watch is the laundry service, unfortunately we did not see the sheet with the prices on and after it was returned with a bill of around

We stayed in Alexander The Great for one week from 22-12 to 29-12 and it was rated a five star.

There was no choice of food. Two options actually, take it or leave it.

The staff were miserable and moody.

Out of seven days we had two evening meals in the hotel, rest of the time we ate at the restaurant just up from the hotel.

As regards being a five star I wouldn't give it any stars personally.

Future holiday makers going to this hotel should go at their own peril. You have been warned.

This was our second visit to this hotel and we have our third visit planned this September. Apart from the Annabelle, which would probably cost twice as much, The Alexander the Great has everything we could ask for. The sunbed allocation system is excellent. The breakfasts are excellent with a pancake/waffle bar, fresh pastries and breads, full english, fresh fruit, yoghurts, cereals, cheeses and meats. The location is superb as you are close enough to walk to the harbour but out enough for the surroundings to be quiet, even if your room is roadside. The hotel is more geared to couples, which suits us fine, and the staff are very friendly but also professional. The hotel has recently been refurbished to a very high standard. The pool area is quiet and monitored by the staff to keep it that way. I would strongly recommend this hotel to couples seeking a relaxing holiday in beautiful surroundings.

Stayed at this hotel for the past 4 years and even revisited over Christmas and New Year last year. Wonderful hotel and staff, nothing too much trouble. Great thing about hotel is the pool area and the fact that there is a sun bed allocation system. On the day you arrive you are allocated a sun bed in or near an area of your choice. You keep this for the duration of your stay, nobody else uses the bed and even if you go on a day trip your sun bed is there waiting for you when you arrive back. No getting up at unearthly hours to grab a bed. Towels are provided for around the pool, brought to your room each evening, when you have finished with them each day, throw them in the tub near the pool and await more that evening. Leaves more room for packing clothes. Staff excellent, in fact my ideal holiday.
