Got home from our 1 week holiday this morning and wow what a fab holiday i will post here and also in the hotel review section.

when we got on the coach to the hotel we were given a information pack which had our room card already in it with our allocated room number which was great when we got to the hotel you just go in quick 2 seconds and they tell you to go to the porter who will see you to your room, got on a buggy and the porter drove us to our room in the fishing village and carried all our cases up the stairs to our room for us,

Rooms: EXCELLENT we booked a 1 bedroom deluxe apartment and for some reason was upgraded free of charge to a 2 bedroom it was lovely plasma tv and dvd player in the lounge which kept my twin 23month year olds happy while we got ready of an evening, lovely big bed in main bedroom(which we later saw was 2 beds pushed together but u wouldnt know it from sleeping on it so comfortable) with doors leading to balcony, which was very big with sun beds, and table and chairs. pool towels provided in your room, british plugs so no need for adaptor and also hairdryer in bedroom. cleaner was fantastic our room was always cleaned to a spotless standard if she came during my twins nap time she would always come back later and clean the room for us.

Food: we upgraded when we got to the resort from self catering to AI as we had heard good reports about the food, lovely fresh good variety always something different every night to choose from, the snack bar was hit or miss if you got the food fresh it was ok if not then it was horrible and it was always the same food on the snack bar pizza, undercooked burgers, chips, nuggets etc
Mexican was really nice, fast service, excellent waiters couldnt do enough for us we even tipped them well cause they bent over back wards to ensure we got everything we needed for the twins, greek i didnt enjoy at all but my husband liked it, guess thats down to personal taste!

we did find the staff on the bars a little rude/abrupt on the first day but once they saw us with our kids they couldnt do enough to help us always playing with the kids making sure they were happy, we never had a problem with the 2 drink rule.

the creche was awesome a big thank you to all the team who worked so hard in the creche my twins had a great time highly recommend the creche, they give u a mobile phone when u take ur children to the session so they can contact you if they need to which i thought was fab.

entertainment well what can i say other then rubbish lol, they worked hard and tried there best but it just wasnt good at all we took the kids to kids village which was from 8pm till 9pm every night but there was nothing for younger children and they did more talking about there selves then what they did entertaining the kids. this was followed by bingo which we did play for something to do u could win a reasonable amount most the time 80euro a line and 200euro a house we never won though :offtop

the one complaint i had was i wanted a late check out at time of booking and was told to ask in resort, asked when we got to the hotel and they said to ask 2 days before our departure date, i called and asked reception 2 days before the departure date and they said they would let us know the night before then we got a slip under the door the MORNING we were due to go home saying we couldnt have a late check out that annoyed me as we had to sit around from 12noon till 12 midnight with the little ones! :(

all in all excellent holiday, fab weather i wouldnt hesitate but to recommend this holiday village highly!!!!

Stayed all inclusive for 11 days, but had a few issues at first. we had been put in the wrong room type, i had paid to say in a delux sudio (worth the extra money) and was put in a standard, Stellios the hotel resevartions manager was fantastic he sorted out all our issues and sent champaign and fruit twice. The cleaning staff must work 24/7 the place was spotless, and the food fantastic, but i would advise that the choice for children under 2 is very limited. Although i was told that the chef would cook anything the child needed (but this one on the last day)

We stayed in the older part of the HV, we have the option of moving however the Fishing Village part seemed very busy and to behonest with an 11month old baby the FV are offered no shade during the day. and the pool in the older part was a lot quieter.

The location of the HV is ok, however we hirered a car for most of the holiday, so everything was easier to get to. io think next time we'll stay closer to the harbour...

The holtel staff in the older part and food part are fantactic, really friendly (george at the bar and Kamrul in the food area are fantactis) however the staff in the FV are need to understand customer care, even the reps complained about them...

Didn't see much of the entertainment, but what i did see was ok... If you go to the entertainment area makesure you get your drinks from the main bar above the food area, bigger drinks and the staff are really nice...

Would i visit the hotel again, yes but when my son is over 3/4 years old, unless you are happy to palm your kids off in a creche then i would recommend leaving it until they are older... Reps very nice and friendly...

I booked this holiday in april 2007, a 2 bedroom delux appartment, i was assured by first choice 4 times that this would be in the new fishing village, wrong, all 2 bed delux appartments are in the older part. We were not dissappointed thou the appartment was spacious, had a fully equipted kitchen including dishwasher, we had 2 bathrooms, tv, dvd and cd player.

The complex itself is massive, 5 pools, i do think the new part has been rushed and the pools will certainly need a lot of work on them, the paint surfaces are already coming away. The splash park for small children is good, the only thing is there is little shade up there, and the water slides are only switched on between 11 and 4.

There is a good selection of food in the main restaurant, and drinks are available at alll pool bars, burgers, pizza, hot dogs etc are available at the pool in the fishing village at lunch time. The food at the mexican and greek restaurant is however very poor.

The E3 team work hard, and the entertainment they provided was varied, kids love it it was certainly better than some entertainment i have seen over the years.

Arrived on the 13th of August, location good, 10 mins walk from water park, 5 mins to a beach (a bit rocky though) and 20 mins walk from town. Check in good, and room was a 2 bed apartment in the Older Aegean Village. Room was spacious, well furnished, A/C in every room and cleaned regulary although we did have a problem with ants throughout and had a visit from a cockroach on the last day !
The hotel itself has some great facilities, the pools are great, the splash park is exellent for little kids, theres plenty of sunbeds, I was getting up between 7:30 - 8am every day and getting sunbeds with umbrellas by the fishing village pool no probs.
The gym was good, it has running machines, excercise bikes, rowing machines, weights etc and a cold adult pool with jacuzzi. there is also a sauna and steam room and full use of these facilities are included on the All Inc. The high ropes course is quite good aswell, cost is 10 Euros for the 1st go and 5 euros each time after.

I have been to a couple of Holiday Villages before and unfortunatley the entertainment here is the worst Ive seen. The kids disco kicks it off at 8pm which is quite good for the younger kids, then its bingo. This is usually followed by a quiz and at 10pm its usually the E3 team singing & dancing. At 11pm its 'Rock The Room' which is a good laugh but does tend to grate after 14 nights of it ! The E3 team do work very hard but are very average, the males cannot sing or dance, the girls are ok but its very samey. Theres a few outside acts brought in but again, these were of poor quality, we had Cypriot dancers twice (poor), a magician (poor) a parrot show (poor) a comdeian/singer (poor) and karaoke (quite good). It seems that the outside acts were hired on the cheap to me ! Maybe its the budget that First Choice give the E3 team but unfortunatley the evenings were a bit repetative. I dont expect The West End but having been to other Holiday Villages and other All Inclusives, I found this entertainment to be the poorest.

The daytime activities are also quite poor, I am used to plenty of actvities going on during the day like Water Polo, Water Volleyball, Volleyball etc but there were no actvities like that at all for adults or kids. I was quite bored during the day to be honest as I am not the type that can just sit on a sun bed all day.
Activities that are on are the occasional Table Tennis tournament, family canoeing, family raft building, occasional game of french boules, archery and a poolside quiz at lunctime. there was maybe 2 activities a day organised for the adults, where as in other Holiday Villages, there is usually activities hourly.

The food at the hotel is really quite good, always well cooked, hot and of decent quality. Breakfast is superb, theres bacon, fried eggs, boiled eggs, poached eggs, scambled eggs, sausages, frankfurters, beans, panckaes, french toast, grilled tomatoes etc, or cereals, cold meats & cheeses, croissants & pastries, and you can have an omlette freshly cooked if you so want. Drinks are self service in the main restaurant & the Ice cream is available all day and evening and it is gorgeous, great variety of flavours and other desserts were really nice too. Plenty of salad and fresh fruit available also. Lunch can be taken at the poolside restaurant which serves burgers, hot dogs, nuggets, chips, salads etc or in the main restaurant which serves much the same as the evening meals.
Yes the food gets repetative after 2 weeks but we ate out a couple of nights to break it up a bit, once at Fat Mama's, which is an Italian/American restaurant which was great and served up huge portions and once at a family run Cypriot Restaurant about 20 mins walk into the town. We did not try the Mexican or Greek Restaurant but some friends did and they did not recommend them !

The bar staff were really good, very polite when spoken to with respect ! Rarely had to wait long for a drink at any of the bars despite it being in high season. Good range of drinks available on the All Inc, including cocktails like Pina Colada, Tequilla Sunrise etc, they even had their own version of Baileys which was very nice ! There is a limit of 2 drinks per person though which can be a problem if youre in a group.

We went to the Water Park which was a fun day out, a bit pricey but youre on holiday and Cyprus is expensive ! Also did off road Quad Biking which was booked across the road from the hotel, that was a fun 2 hours and I would highly recommend it ! Crazy golf course nearby was also good fun and there is a Go Karting track within a few minutes walk also.

All in all we had a good time & met some really nice people and have made some good friends, but just felt there was something missing, if the evening entertainemnt and range of daytime activities were improved it would be a top top place but for those reasons we will not be returning.

Just got back from the Aliathon and overall had a great time. Hotel very clean, we stayed in a one bed deluxe in the fishing village and it was great, very roomy, good size balcony etc. We were all inclusive and although enjoyed the food we were disappointed with the choice of restaurants as the Greek and mexican restaurants are a waste of time and to be honest, you really have one main eating area for the evening meal. Our children, aged 5 and 3, had a great time and the pools are great (although yes did get ear infections which appeared to be very common). The entertainment for the children is great and E3 are very enthusiastic, bit naff for the adults but as our children are so young as long as they were happy we were happy but if you have older children I can understand that perhaps you may not enjoy the entertainment.
Saw lots of weddings there which were lovely although if you are getting married out there I would advise arranging something for the evening as I felt sorry for some of the brides being stuck doing bingo in their lovely dresses!
Wouldn't bother booking guaranteed seating for the plane on the way home as we had it booked and paid for but First Choice said the cypriot booking system at the airport could not cope with it and it wasn't possible so we had to sit separately even though we had paid to sit together.
Enjoyed the holiday but I do think the hotel will look better in a couple of years when it is a little more established. Seemed a little rushed to be open for this summer but overall a very good holiday.

Great place to stay, we stayed in the deluxe 1 bed room within the fishing village. The fishing village is stunning with a very well thought out and aethetic layout. The rooms were very well furnished and clean, would have a liked a little more storage for clothes but then having 2 small children we probably pack 3 times as much as the average family. The food in the main restuarant was very very good with plenty of choice and was better than the bookable venues. The staff in the restaurants were very freindly and helpful.

The entertainment was a bit cheesy but this was all part of the appeal andevery night the stage was full of kids 3 rows deep seated at the front. The entertainment was overall very good with rock the room a firm favourite.

Finally the in2action/creche/kids club staff were fantastic and I cannot thank them enough. They entertained the children very well and in particular the creche staff were fantastic with my duaghters having a major soft spot for Lauren. We originally pre-booked 9 creche sessions and after these booked further ones after my youngest kept asking to see "the ladies" as she termed it.

Anyone going there with young children will enjoy the Aliathon and I am genuinely jealous if you are going soon.

just returned from two weeks at the holiday village. had an absolutly great time travelled with 4 adults a 3year old and a 19month old. we each stayed in a one bed dulxe which were fantastic. very spacious, with two balconies one huge with 2 sunloungers, 4 chairs and a table and still plenty of room fro the kids to play. the other smaller to the back of the apartment. 2 flat screen tv's which were fab one with dvd player.
only complaint about the room was that our 3yr old could open the main door which i was very worried about even when locked as soon as the handle was pushed downt the lock would unlock. we resorted to pushing a dining chair infront of the door to stop him from openin it without us hearing him.
we changed our pool towels with the cleaners as we passed them in the mornings. never a problem to find 4 sunbeds together around kids pool at about 8.45am. the kids pool by the way was the highlight of the children's holiday. they were in there all day ecept for the one session at kids club (if we could catch him out of the pool) water only came up to my knees in deepest part so it was very safe. no problems with ear infection or tummy upsets either.
swim kids was a big hit, we booked our 3 yr old in to a group session but turned out he was only one booked in so had 5x private lessons with a very patient Harriet.
food was oalways gorgeous, only allinclusive i've been on where there was always more than one dish i wanted to try (which resulted in a few extra pounds). didn't find it repetitive at all. mexican wasn't bad either.
did several trips glass bottom boat (1hr trip not worth doing, we didn't see 1 fish), water park great but expensive, jolly roger alot of fun with little ones, quad safari the men said was good, go-karting men loved but i found hard to steer, bird and animal park was abig hit.
only complaint about holiday was the rudeness of the lighthouse pool bar staff. very ignorant, didn't even accknowledge customers, would often walk off whilst serving you to do something else. but the rest of the staff we're very nice.
our kids loved the kids village time and fell asleep after that so we sat in the bar on the other side of the entertainment which was quiet with a lovely hungarian barmaid.
all in all a relaxing and enjoyable holiday for us all and would highly recommend.

Holiday Village Aliathon is more Holiday camp than Holiday village, with a red coat feel to the entertainment:

The hotel in general is very clean and the maids keep the rooms spick and span.

POOL

Ear Infections galore - By the second week of the holiday my duaghter and 95% of the children around the pool had ear infections. There never seemed to be anyone cleaning the pool at the Aegean village no matter what time we were out on our balcony that looked out directly onto the pool, even the local taxi drivers were commenting on how may people they had taken to the clinic during the summer.

ROOMS

We had booked a deluxe studio, and found we had been allocated a very basic room over the reception area in the old part of the complex, over looking the car park with the DVD's and CD's etc being added to achive the deluxe status. We arranged to move the next day to a one bedroom apartment but is cost us 130 euros.

FOOD

The foods was good with pleanty of choice, but by the second week it became a bit boring, slightly different to the seven restaurants advertised by First Choice when booking in June 2007.

Wavelength Club 9-15 year

This was excellent, the activities available were great and the children thought the reps were great, it was just a shame that a lot of the activities were water based which excluded many of the children with ear infections.

What a place - lovely, great accommodation, good food, very hard working In2 action staff, both with the young people and the adults. Also entertainment staff very good and worked really hard.

Good adult bar, an opportunity to sit back and relax.

down side - entertainment finished every night at 11 then it was the Magic Envelope - not really entertainment just a chance to win money and many people left when the entertainment finished.

other down side - Bingo Brian(Kiearan) does he need to explain the rules of bingo every night - how annoying!

Would we go back - YES and have already booked for 2009
