We received poor treatment by the staff. The hotel is not on a good condition. It looked really nice on the pictures but when we got there it was so different. My little boys were very dissapointed since even the animation program was just too poor. The hotel was not clean and it wasn't friendly at all to British people. We are very soory to say all these because we really wanted to have a nice holiday there. Our advice is that Corfu is a very nice island and there all plenty of other hotels in the area.

I enjoyed my stay at messonghi beach hotel, however if I went back to corfu, which I intend to do,I would stay in one of the smaller, local run hotels in Moraitika.

The worst thing about our stay was the smell of sewage at certain times of the day. The hotel has it's own treatment plant in the grounds and made me wretch at times with the smell.

The people in the village of Moraitika were wonderful, very friendly and always willing to help. Hire a car or bike (much cheapness!!) and get out into the countryside, don't stay in the hotel all the time as most of the guests did when we were there, get out and explore the island,it's a fantastic place!

The prices of food and drink in the local bars and restaurant can be up to half of that in the complex and they have a much better atmosphere.

The food and entertainment in the hotel seemed to be aimed entirely at the French, German and Italians, although when they occassionally brought out bacon at the breakfast buffet the queue was a mile long, maybe that should tell them something about their "international" buffet.

You ain't going to get steak pie and chips that's for sure.

Our two teenage sons spent most of thier time in the 2 pools which were right under our balcony or in the games room playing pool.

We never had to worry about them at all, although they did complain of being bored in the hotel complex as the entertainment was either for young kids or adults.

One tip, there are shops just outside the entrance to the complex. Buy your bottled water and alcohol there and you'll save fortune.

If you're a smoker cigs are dirt cheap, I think my wife paid around

Going to this hotel has totally put us off the whole of Corfu. We stayed in the Beachside Bungalows, the rooms were so damp that the walls had mould growing on them. The whole hotel is set up for the French & German, the food did not cater for children even though this is suppose to be a family resort. We found the staff to be very rude and unhelpful, the English are not welcomed at all at the Messonghi Beach! The beach was lovely and the fact that this hotel is situated directly on it, is it's only dedeeming factor.

We had a bad start to this holiday,we were put into a family room which we thought great only with 2 young children rickety bunkbeds were no good,no storage space only a broken wardrobe,we were quickly moved.

The second room was not much better when you got into my sons bed your bum touched the floor,my bed was solid with planks of wood eveywhere. The bathroom was full of damp on the walls. We had a problem with slugs and everything even clothes felt damp.

The beach was full of dog mess and builders were still fixing the decking, went for breakfast one morning had to wade through raw sewage to get to the restaraunt.

The evening entertainment was always in other languages first then english if they remembered that is. The beach party was good.

Everyone we spoke to had some kind of complaint about the hotel.

Food was terrible, pictures of animals to tell you what you were eating and having to shoo the sparrows off so they didnt eat what was on your plate.

Have never been to Corfu before and will not be going again.

Hi. I am from the Czech Republic but I am happy that I can write my comments to your site.

I have benn to Messonghi Beach Hotel for two times (last 10/7/2002). I think it is a very good hotel. Good place.

Lots of bars, pools, entertainment. I really like it.

Last year when I was in this hotel for first every programme was in English but nowadays almost every programme starts in German language.

We have just got back from Messonghi and we had a really good time. The hotel is fantastic for kids (ours are 2 and 3). The play area is like a whole park, there is a disco every night and a train that goes round the whole complex. The Cosmos kids club was great and the hotels animation team was fantastic. The food wasn't great - the same sort of thing every night. Entertainment was okay - lots of bars. We had magicians, beach parties, sports nights. With young kids there was no need to drag them about every night. It is quite a walk up to the main road. The hotel was majority germans but the entertainment was in English, German and French. Does it matter what language the signs are in first!!!!! It was english anyway. Stay in England if you don't like foreign languages! The grounds are lovely, our bungalow was on the edge of the beach. We would go back here but consider alternative eating arrangements but it is such a cheap holiday anyway that it doesn't matter.
