We had two rooms on arriving as we had a late booking but one of our rooms (room 16) was large enough for us all to sleep in. Kitchen was large enough and utensils all provided. Owners are lovely and if you need help or directions or even a taxi they will gladly help. The bus stop is only 5 mins walk away and there is a small shop by the main road. The waterpark is only 5mins away in a taxi. To get to the beach, the rep may tell you its a 10min walk, when it really isn't. There is a road to walk down to the beach across the main road, however, its downhill and is about 30mins. However, if you speak to owners of apartments, they will advise you of an alternative which we used all the time

we stayed at Elma Apartments for 1 week and didn't want to come home! The apartment owners were lovely and really friendly. Although it seems like you are in the middle of nowhere, it is only a 5 minute walk to the bus stop and little shop. Also, although there was no entertainment the family who owned the apartments were around the pool/bar area all the time, giving us free shots and food!! The apartments were cleaned twice during our stay and also had fresh towels every other day.

Elma apartments, Crete, was very pleasant with its gardens and swimming pool. Disadvantages were lack of any fan or other device to cool the room and that the hotel is 2km away from the beach. To reach the nearest beach it is a 30 minute walk along roads without any pavements. This was near impossible with two small children and we had to hire a car.

We stayed at this hotel as part of a last minute package.
On arrival we were worried about the location, as there is nothing about. The closest resource was a Russian one and even then there was limited places to eat, shop etc.
The Hotel itself though was fine, simple but clean. Staff were excellent and we soon realised that the quite location was a god send.
Plenty of bus routes just down the road to the local town which is very busy, but recommend a car for food shopping etc.
The people made it for us though, as you had no choice but to pull together.
A good two weeks all in all.

We booked a holiday with accommodation allocated on arrival.Even when we pulled up outside we knew we had struck lucky.
It is a small and nicely simple complex of just 20 apartments. it was wonderfully clean, well cared with pride by its owners. The apartments were along a little track within easy reach of a bus stop and taxi stop into Hersonissos.
The staff mainly consisted of the Son of the owner- "Manos" who even within one week felt like a friend, The owners would also visit in the evenings, they were extrememly welcoming and clearly concerned for our comfort.
The facilities were more than adequate in all respects though may not suit those with lavish expectations. I normally shun any idea of visiting any resort twice due to an urge to visit somewhere new each year but I have already booked up to return to Elma in 2007.
