We stayed at the Sunset Apartments on a last minute deal in May last year.
We enjoyed it that much that we wanted to book again for this year, but were told by the Travel Agents that because XLA Flights went into liquidation last October, Libra was also not available.
John, Theresa and Amanda were fantastic! Had us in stitches all the time, but then it helps if you have a sense of humour too!
Food was excellent, we particularly enjoyed the Barbeque and the Greek Night.
As for entertainment, we all made our own, especially after the wine and Raki were flowing! L.O.L
We would definately visit this hotel again!

Mike and Nikki run the bar as a franchise from the owner Eva. Nikki is there during the day and Mike takes over at night, shutting whenever the last customer leaves. His food is exceptional and his mousakka is out of this world, the stay at Sunset is worth it for this alone!! He has a Greek night, when the moussaka is served as a starter and also a BBQ night, both of which are magnificent fun, if there is a good number attending- as we were at the end of the season the numbers were diminishing but certainly enough still to have a good time.
The beach is right beside the apartments and nice and sandy. I discovered at the end of the holiday that a dip in the pool first meant that the sea felt like a hot bath if you went into it straight away!
As the pool saw very little sun at this time of the year then the best I can say for it is bracing!! I have not mentioned Eva, the owner. She too is an exceptionally nice person who could not be more helpful The rooms are clean and tidy, the views whether beach side or mountain side are lovely.
Last to be mentioned is Tracy, the holiday rep. She again is one person her company should be proud of, very professional without being pushy, very knowlegable on the local information and will point you in the right direction for what is best for you.
Would I go back again and without hesitation the answer is yes
One word of warning- beware the raki!!!

Stayed at the Sunset Apartments in Kokkini Hani. Eva who runs it was brilliant with tips for where to go and what to see, Mike the barman was a wonderful entertainer, not sure how he stays awake!! His cooking on his Greek and Barbecue nights was first class. The apartment was furnished in a basic Cretan style but was very clean and everything that you needed was there.

The sunset is only 10 mins from the main city and its airport, on the front side of the hotel is a main road, but this is only used by locals and some passing traffic. The back side of the sunset is right on the beach, hence the apts name, and we watched some wonderful sunrise\sunsets from our balcony.

the rooms are spacious and clean well maintained with enough space for a family of four to sleep comfertably.the location is ideal although plane and road noise are to be expected with the doors shut and your air con on you can get a good nights sleep.a set of steps lead down from the pool directly inyo the sea and twenty or so yards either wae are steps down onto two small but lovely beaches used by the locals as well enough said.the hotel is run by eva and manos who are friendly and pleasant but not always there especially at night(but for arriving with people who had been there before we would not have known where to pick our room key up from).the poolside bar is excellant with nicki and her son and daughter (costa and elizabeth)looking after the guests during the day with local knowledge good conversation brilliant breakfasts and snacks.in the nightime we had nickis husband mike who entertained everyone with his greek night and barbque night karaoke great and plentiful food(whatever you asked for given 24 hours he would provide wow the size of them prawns) yes it went on quite late most nights but hey your on holiday.overall a great time was had by all of us and we would reccomend this to everyone.

Rooms are clean and spacious. View from our room was lovely looking out over the tuquoise sea. The sunsets are beautiful and you never get tired of looking at them. Staff are very friendly and helpful and the food at the pool bar very tasty.
The owners Eva and Manos will make you feel welcome and are there till late if you should need anything. We have been to the sunset 4 times so far and will hopefully be returning in 2009.
We would recommend the sunset apartments to anyone who wants to be near the beach as it`s right on the doorstep.
