The hotel was nice and clean.
The staff were more than helpful.
Only the location let it down,about a mile walk to the centre and the beach. There was nowhere to eat near at hand.The only way to reach the centre was by taxi or on foot.
The pool was a nice size and well kept about its surrounding area. Air con in the room was free. There was a dish washer and a microwave in the room, but there was no kettle, a t.v. in the living room with only local channels. No night porter in the hotel, only a contact phone number.Ironing boards, irons, hairdryers, safety deposit boxes were available at an extra charge.
The staff were more than helpful.

Stayed here with my two children and we had a lovely time.
The Apartment was lovely and it was very quiet, very clean, loads of linen, towels etc. Maid Service was daily. Any problems with apartment (one of the windows wouldn't lock and I mentioned it and it was fixed within minutes). You can rent a safe for 10 euros per week with a 25 euro deposit which you get back when you return the key at the end of your stay.
Staff were very helpful and we would definitely go back again. The kids loved it.
The little kids pool was fine for my two, not too deep. There were plenty loungers for use too.
When I think of the accommodation which we had initially booked and due to the location (too out of the way, particularly when travelling with the kids) we certainly made the right choice. The Mara Vista was excellent.
The Cactos Bar just down from the apartments is good too, couple are friendly and we worked our way through the milk shakes on the menu. Little shop just before you go over the crossing to the beach at Praia da Rocha, owner called Helena. She was lovely, I got some really nice bags there and a ring for the pool for the kids too. The laundrette next to the Cactos Bar is good too, 2.50 a kg for wash and dry, back the same day. Very good.
There is the Modelo hypermarket which you can walk to and get a taxi back from or the Alisuper in Praia da Rocha or Lidl, used all three. We never ate at the hotel but the staff were all friendly and helpful. Never noticed entertainment as we never went to the bar.
I'd go back to Mara Vista again, biding my time until I can book my flights, too early yet.

Hotel view is of rubbish bins and a strip club with a 15 min walk down a badly lit street...not an ideal location. However the actual appts are very good, large seperate kitchen with dish washer, microwave, fridgefreezer...air conditioning...tv...large livingroom and bedroom. Pool is lovely although there was loads of ants about as there is a grassy area near the pool...very blowy at the pool by 3pm everyday and all the sun umbrellas were blowing away.
Modelo centre can be walked too in 10 mins but if u have kids its just too far to walk anywhere and reception charges 50 cents to order a taxi, and the taxi is approx 4-5 euro each way to anywhere.
The location lets this property down big time.
