Just returned from 2 weeks at the Timanfaya Palace in a quiet sea view room.

We last stayed here in the year 2000 and had some concerns in view of reports on Trip Adviser. The present manager has been in post since March 2007 and it does seem that much effort is being made by management and staff to bring this hotel back up to the earlier good standard.

All of the staff members we had dealings with were really helpful and friendly with a good command of English where it mattered.

The food was perhaps not so good as in 2000 but of an acceptable standard for a 4 star buffet restaurant. Smoothies for breakfast were a welcome innovation. The grounds and pools are well maintained and clean with sufficient sun-beds at the time of our visit.
Renovation of bedrooms is underway as part of an ongoing programme.

On the downside the Air Conditioning did not seem to work in the restaurant or entertainment bar and the music in the Piano Bar was far too loud for conversation or for comfort.

The Timanfaya Palace was a lovely hotel in all.

Most of the staff were lovely. Reception staff being the worse, rather rude with us and some other people who had a problem, but luckily our problem was sorted in the end.

The hotel is well kept, people cleaning and looking after it most of the time. We all enjoyed the food, had no complaints there!

The hotel is very far from most places, you could walk the 30 mins into playa blanca were there are about a dozen places to eat and a few bars, night life here is very low key, the resort is mainly for families and couples looking for a quiet holiday.

Entertainment was also low key!! The team do have things on most nights, and stuff for you to do most days if you choose to join in.

We were all surprised at how windy the island was!! If you had a towel on your sun lounger and got of the lounger well you were sure to have your towel blown away! The whole 2 weeks we stayed here it was so windy, and the evenings being worse! So ladies take a jacket for the evenings, a mistake I made!

All in all we had a nice holiday but we like to visit other places, so wont be coming back to this hotel.

We have just returned from a family holiday at the Timanfaya Palace Hotel in playa blanca Lanzarote.

Our room was quite big and very clean and was cleaned daily by the maids.

The food was excellent with lots of choice and of a very good standard.

The bar and waiting staff were very helpful nothing was too much trouble as were the reception staff.

There was a kids club although we did not use this and the normal mini disco in the evenings.

This hotel has a fab location near to the promenade where you can walk into Playa Blanca, although it is quite a walk so take a pram if you have small children. We got a taxi back a couple of times. All in all we paid an excellent price for the hotel it was on special offer and we also managed to get some fairly cheap flights. So shop around and you could get a good deal. We will definitely be going back.

We stayed in room 257 which was near the end of a very long semi open corridor a little disappointed we had no sea view but it was still overlooking the swimming pool. The room was spacious and clean but some tiles were cracked on side bath panel there was also some refurbishment in the suite at the the very end but only a couple of hours at a time during the day which was possibly why there were no lights on in that section.

The pool area was the best we have stayed at with plenty of sun beds which were not lined up and gave you plenty of space, one pool was large and shallow for children the other was more for adults the setting overlooking the promenade and sea across to Fuerteventura was really nice.

There was a good choice of food and service was very good. There were two supermarkets and several restaurants a couple of minuets away and about 15-20 minuets to Playa Blanca resort center.

All the staff were very friendly and helpful entertainment was quite good what we saw of it.

We would go back to this Hotel but ask straight away for a higher floor and not so far away from the main body of the Hotel there was access to the pool and promenade from there so was quicker to through the pool area when going to the dinning room and reception.

We originally booked the Lanzarote Princess Hotel, (but due to pool refurbishment) we moved to the Timanfaya Palace Hotel for the last 11 days.

A very impressive looking hotel with a lovely pool area. Plenty of sun beds and parasols with beach towels provided. (1 main pool, Jacuzzi and 2 smaller pools for little ones) A garden leads to crazy golf and there is a very small beach area opposite.

Our room was clean and spacious (2 double beds) and the balcony had the usual table and two reclining chairs.

Really long tiled corridors led to rooms from main area and unlucky to get a room at the end!

The entertainment varied from good to poor and the seating there definitely lacked comfort. Thankfully the lobby bar was far better, and the live music was consistently good in the evenings.

The food was also good and varied. Top marks to the restaurant staff who were all excellent at clearing tables between courses.

We did find the pool bar service poor if you sat outside or on the veranda at lunchtimes. A pleasant stroll to the Natura Beach was a better alternative for us.

It was also a nice walk to Playa Blanca which took about 20 minutes and we often caught a taxi back (to save lugging vitals) 3 euros. Taxis are almost non existent on a Thursday because it

We have stayed here many times before but when we stayed a couple of years ago we were concerned that standards were not so high. However we had an excellent holiday this year.

We stayed in a lovely room on the second floor with pool and sea view. The pool area is beautiful, gardens well kept with relaxing fountains and wonderful sea views. Plenty of sun beds. There are 2 pools. The childrens pool is ideal for children and adults to paddle and swim. it gently shelves making it safe for small children and this pool is heated a little.

The restaurant food was very good, perhaps not as outstanding as when the hotel first opened but it was very good.Plenty of choice that would suit most people. We were very impressed with the service in the restaurant, in fact all the staff were very courteous, efficient and friendly. Reception staff were welcoming and knowledgable.

The hotel is completely non smoking so that was a real plus for us.

Entertainment was adequate with a few quite good shows but the comfort in the entertainment room is not good. The chairs are tiny and uncomfortable so the experience is not as enjoyable as it should be. You are relieved when the show is over and you can return to the cocktail bar.The cocktail bar entertainment could be better.

All in all we had a lovely time and were sorry that our holiday was for only one week. I am sure we will be returning!

This was our first time at this hotel. We found everything to be just as we expected.

Staff were very friendly and helpful.

The food was of a high standard.

The room was spacious and clean.

The hotel is in a good location on the sea front, with a nice pool area. The new marina is about a 25 minute walk away along the front.

Entertainment in the cabaret room was not bad at all, for hotel type standards.

The only fault we could find was the fact that some guests were getting up very early in the morning and putting towels on sun-beds to reserve them, even though the hotel had notices posted everywhere forbidding this. It is a difficult rule to enforce, I know, for fear of upsetting customers, but I feel that the hotel could have tried a bit harder to prevent this. Some sun-beds were left un-occupied for most of the day with a towel on them and only used at the end of the afternoon when the selfish people who had reserved them arrived back from a day out.

Overall, though, I would highly recommend this hotel and would definately come back to stay again next time we visit Lanzarote.

We have just come back from our summer holiday at the Timanfaya Palace - probably our best ever! Our children are aged 17, 13 & 10 and although there were not huge numbers of British kids for the 2 elder children to hang around with none of them were bored.

The hotel is beautiful - spotlessly clean and the bedrooms are very spacious - the kids were in one with 2 double beds plus a sofa bed and it was not cramped. The 2 swimming pools are ideal for all ages even toddlers and the jacuzzi worked fine but is for adults only. There was never a shortage of sunbeds and they are spread out so you don't feel cramped. They provide free sunbed mats and towels too.

Food was excellent - great buffet breakfasts (even omlettes, pancakes & hot cheese & ham toasted sandwiches made for you every day)and the buffet dinner has good variety each night with different themes as part of the menu. Service was excellent.

The hotel is right by the sea, but it is rocky in front of the hotel. It is a few minutes walk to the Playa Flamingo sandy beach with a few supermarket shops and restaurants. The main resort is further - about 20 minutes walk to the shops (huge choice of designer, perfume, souveniers etc) and another 10 minutes to Playa Dorada beach where they do jet skis, banana boat & parasailing.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The entertainment was of a typical hotel - a professional show featuring dance, singing, magic most nights and a couple of in-house quizzes the others. Daytime they did have activities but you were not pressurised into doing them. They also had a mini club & mini disco for kids.

We cannot fault this hotel & would definitely go back -either as a couple or family. This is the 2nd H10 hotel we've stayed at (last year the Gran Tinerfe in Tenerife)and we will use them again!

We was looking for somewhere special to stay as it was my 50th Birthday during this holiday. The Timanfaya Palace was recommended by a friend,Cheers!Brilliant hotel.

The staff are very helpfull and genuinely friendly. The rooms are very spacious and well equiped.Food was excellent both at breakfast and evening dinner.Fresh cooked and piping hot. They will cater for special diets if you email them before you go.

My partner requires gluten free food and they said that they can provide this.First class. The whole hotel and grounds are very clean.

There was some families and young couples but the majority seemed to be in our age group and older.

We have stayed in Lanzarote many times, summer and winter. We have been to Hesperia Playa Blanca and San San Antonio in Puerta Del Carmen and we have loved everyone holiday - lots of lovely weather and great relaxation.

This time I want to find out if the swimming pool in Timanfaya in Playa Blanca is REALLY heated in the winter as it is not outdoors and I know what those swimming pools can be like! The brochures say heated in winter but!!!!! The best one normally is Hesperia as it is indoors but watch out you need to take a swimming hat or sometimes they let you use the shower cap. Let me know soon please as I want to book now.
