I would recomend the holiday village to any one it was great for families and couples .for families with young children there was a play ball park area in the hotel and entertainment every day and evening. If you are taking older children I would wait for April as that is when all the great facilities on the beach complex open.water slides restaraunts loads of games areas .The food was divine on the first evening lovely chocolate fountain with strawberries or fruit and marshmallows Mmm heaven. There was not a day when you could not find some thing to eat they catered for young children also if you have a fussy child great,I wouldnt hesitate going back agian.we went in march and were blessed with good weather. The rooms are so spacious queen beds in main bedroom+double sofa bed with single under in living room, shower over bath+walk in shower and also two marble sinks huge bath room.and kitchen with fridge replenished every day.tough if you have walking difficuties but bus svs ok.

Just arrived back from our third visit to the Holiday Village and we had a fantastic time and more importantly the kids loved it. When we arrived we were greeted by very friendly staff and there was also a table of welcome drinks which everyone seemed to enjoy. We did however have to give our credit card details in case any damage was caused to the room which fortunately we did not have to use. In return we were handed the remote for the tv and coupons for beach towels. We were also surprised to learn that a new restaurant/open grill had been opened at the Beach Club on Friday and Saturday evenings.

The rooms are lovely and very spacious with 2 double beds in the bedroom. We also had maid service every day and our fridge was stocked up with water cola and juice on a daily basis. As this was our third visit we were also sent a basket of fruit and a bottle of red wine which was a very nice gesture.

There was lots of variety at the restaurant and the Mexican Italian and Open Grill are well worth a visit and cater for everyone's taste including children and make a change to the buffet style restaurant as you are waited on. And the wine is nicer. And if you missed breakfast in the morning there was always the snack bar where you could get ham/cheese toasties, pizza, hot dogs, salads, nugggets and fish fingers plus a variety of other things.

There are lots of activities going on throughout the day like quizzes, water polo, raft racing. There is a big family pool as well as a childrens pool at the main hotel. Over the road at the Beach Club it is split into three areas. There is the childrens area to the right with a shallow pool and water jets for kids, a Robinson Crusoe style house and high trampolines (which you pay for) and then there is the Pirate Ship which is great for kids and adults too, though the water in this pool is freezing. There is then a larger pool which gets quite busy with a shallow end for kids. The jacuzzi beds are not to be missed. They are situated up on the top of the Beach Club and they overlook the sea. Then there are the water slides, caves, the wave pool and more water jets. It really is fantastic over there. The food at the Beach Club is lovely too. Lots of salads and meats and pasta dishes.

The kids clubs are great too though mine wanted to be together and as my little boy wasn't 3 for a few weeks(and my daughter 6) he had to go in the creche which wasn't free so I didn't bother putting them in. But from what we saw they all seemed to be enjoying themselves.

In the evening there is often entertainment on at the Piano Bar if you don't want to sit at the main entertainment dome. This is a very relaxing area with fountains and mexican singers playing.

The entertainment team work very hard and put on some really good shows for example Grease, High School Musical, Mother Goose. We also saw a magician, a comedian and a group which were all very good. There were coin operated cars for kids and trampolines too. The kids disco started at 8 for an hour and everyone including the adults seemed to enjoy it. At night in between acts you could take part in quizzes, play bingo (for some really high cash prizes) and there was rarely queues at the bar and if there was you weren't queuing long. And if you want to carry on till the early hours of the morning the Irish Bar is the place to be. We hired a trolley for my daughter which was a godsend when we were in there. It opened around 11pm and we used to stock our drinks up so we didn't have to buy anymore after 12. There was always something going on.

We did make a visit to the beach one day which is literally turn right at the roundabout, pass the car park and down quite a lot of steps. We let the kids have a paddle and collected some shells but as the weather was really hot there was no shade so we didn't stay long. You can also get a bus outside the hotel to nearby Benalmadena and Fuerengerola which was very cheap and took about 20 mins. There is also a crazy golf course at the back of the hotel which didn't cost us a penny if you are looking for something different to do.

We really had a good holiday and would recommend this hotel to families with children of all ages. The reps were helpful, the welcome meeting didn't drag on, in fact it was over in about 10/15 mins, the hotel was clean. Nobody we spoke to had been ill or had any complaints. The sunbeds were a bit hard to find though I think when we went it was a lot quieter than peak season where there is the huge rush for the beds. And on the plus side it is only about 30 mins from the airport.

Hopefully next year will be our 4th time... if there are any free child places left!

Just want to add that we went All Inclusive and would highly recommend this as the food is lovely and there is a lot of variety including one visit per week to each of the themed restaurants and there are three of them this year. I would not advise really going self catering as the supermarket is very expensive and there are no local ones nearby.

We were staying at the holiday village, costa del sol. On arriving the hotel looked very impressive. Check in was quite quick and we were soon at our rooms. We had a room which included a kitchen with adequate facilities. There was a large bathroom with 2 sinks, a bath with shower over, a loo, bidet and a stand alone shower.

The lounge was spacious containing a dining table and sofa, which converted into a sofa bed. There was a television which had 3 English channels. The bedroom had 2 large beds.

The balcony was large spanning the width of the bedroom and lounge. We were all inclusive, the food of which was very good.

There was plenty of choice at every meal time with different theme's most nights. All hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. There was plenty of entertainment on and around the hotel all day however i felt there was nothing for the 2 1/2 year olds. They were too old for creche but not old enough for kids club.

The entertainment for the children in the evening was very well organised and the kids loved the singing and dancing.

We would definitely consider coming back to the hotel.

Excellent hotel and its facilities and staff. excellent entertainment shame about the location. Beach 5 mins and first restaurant but not much more for further 20 mins walk. GR8 if ure All inclusive and like to be stuck around hotel all day and nite but if like us u like to stroll around the resort (nearest is Fuengirola) u will need comfy shoes and good stamina. Buses unreliable and taxi

Just returned from our second time at the Holiday Village. Nothing bad to report at all. Good food, clean place, friendly staff. Would recommend this Hotel. We had to stump up 100euros as a deposit on check in. This was in case of any damage caused during your stay. I do think First Choice should inform people of this so they can include this in their budget planning. You could give your credit card details as an alternative, but we chose to pay the 100euro. This deposit covers TV remote/daily beach towels and safety deposit box.

First Choice had a film crew doing a promotional film at the Hotel during our stay. Some of the main area`s of the resort were out of bounds during filming. Mainly the water features. This caused a lot of problems amongst families with children, as the first 3 days we had rain. I think First Choice should have informed us at time of booking.

There are quite a few new hotels being built in the area for First Choice. One of which will be an AI adults only complex. I would go to Holiday Village again but maybe after trying a few other places first....

This was without doubt the best all inclusive hotel we have stayed in with relation to the food. There was on occasion a queue, however given the number of people staying there this is not surprising.

There was a good choice in the main restaurants and always children

Rooms very clean; public areas could be cleaner. Food was good but not as good as 4 years ago. Food was always cooked properly and was always hot never lukewarm but there was not a very wide choice. Quite bland.

The hotel is between Benalmadena and Fuengirola but closer to Fuengirola. Good transport links (bus stop outside the hotel and train station 10 minutes walk away).

Hotel staff always pleasant and reception very good. Never went to any evening entertainment so cannot comment on that but son attended Wave Length/In2Action/DJ sessions and these were very good.

Would we return to this hotel? No but not because it is a bad hotel. The reason is that they are now in the process of building further hotels and there will eventually be over 10,000 beds. The worst thing about the hotel is the lack of sunbeds/brollies at both the beach club and the main pool. This problem is going to get even worse when you have 10,000 beds being occupied. Needs addressing sooner rather than later.

This was our second visit in two years to the Holiday Village and once again we couldn't fault anything. We would definately go again.Hotel is large , clean and has friendly and helpful staff.Rooms clean and well sized (suitable for large family - 5 of us ! ).
We were self catering last year and All Inc this year.Food in restaurant and beach club excellent - something for everyone.
Entertainment was varied and good fun.Entertainments team worked very hard to provide good family holiday atmosphere.Well done to Tom ,Darren,Phillipa,Natalie and Chrissie !!!!Got to add that the comedian was hilarious !!!
Once again Kids clubs were fantastic and there was even more fun for adults this year.Special well done to James of the In2action team , great with the kids.
If you want a fun filled family holiday this is definately for you.Didn't do any trips as we did three last year but they are well worth doing. All staff ,reps ,entertainers, activity staff and hotel staff are polite and friendly.

We had a brilliant time at the Holiday Village. The kids club reps were fantastic, Our three children had a ball. Food was lovely, We upgraded to AI on arrival. The hotel didnt charge for our youngest (3.5years)
The only complaint we had were the lack of sunbeds. I saw people lying on loungers at 7.15 am. By 8am all of the beds were gone.Hotel had notices up stating beds could not be reserved before 9am but they didnt do anything to enforce this rule. People were very selfish with many reserving beds on both sides of the road. I think the hotel should give adults 1 ticket each for a bed. (Similar to the towel tokens) Many families had up to 8 beds reserved and I dont believe children should sunbathe so therefore shouldnt have a sun lounger. We were there for 2 weeks and only managed to get a bed on 3 mornings. As a previous poster said about the race to the beach club, I was there that Thursday morn as I was bringing my son to the soccer school and it was crazy carry-on. Kids being lifted over the fence and parents shouting run run! I thought the Germans were bad!!
Overall we had a great holiday and would defo return.

This was the second time we visted this hotel the last time was four years ago when it was just built. The hotel has improved since then.

The rooms were cleaned everyday and were big enough for two adultds and one five year old and a 11 month old, food was good a few day were hit and miss but over all ok, kids club was really good lots of things for kids to do, beach club and swimming pools were great my five year old did swim kids and enjoyed it chris and tom were good with the children.

Evening entertainment was great for kids with an hour of music and dancing for them, it was again hit and miss for the entertainment for adults, some evening were good, some were't but the entertaintment staff did a good job

The down side to this hotel was it is not close to anything, you have to get a bus or taxi to fuengirola of benalmadena which are both ten to fifteen minutes away, Over all we had a good weeks holiday we met some nice people so would go back to this hotel again.
