We had two weeks in Reviera Maya in Mexico, all inclusive. Loved every minute of it and we swam with the dolphins! :cheers

As you've already ruled out all the above, how would you feel about Cuba which isn't on your list of 'rejects'? Like Mexico, there are some good value AI deals to be had there depending on when you are wanting to go. However, it is still a 9/10 hr flight and it sounds as if you aren't that keen on longhaul. Give us an idea of your budget, how long a flight you are prepared to do and what sort of things you anticipate wanting to do on your honeymoon (eg Lie round the pool/on the beach all day relaxing? Getting out and about and seeing and doing things? Looking for a busy clubbing scene?) and we could probably be of more help to you with suggestions tailored to what you are looking for.

We had a week in Falmouth, it rained every day (July), it was great! ;)

What about Cape Verde? I haven't been there myself but my niece and hubby had a lovely time there. friends of ours are also going next week. It isn't classed as long haul- flights I believe are somewhere in the region of 5 hours. They have some lovely beaches and apart from some new hotels, are not over developed. I think it might be worth you finding out more.

How about Italy- the lakes/ Amalfi coast are "romantic" destinations suitable for a honeymoon, depending on the time of year, of course!

I agree with Kate. Italy is very romanitc.

Sorrento on the Neaoplitan Riviera, we went there for a holiday a few years ago and got engaged when we returned (must have been love in the air)

Hya, for my pennyworth, it would be either cuba or mexico . Both have a great deal to offer for a honeymoon. As Sma says , it all depends on what you want out of the trip, and, of course, what time of year you want to go.
we got married in Havanna 10 yrs ago, spent 4 fantastic days there, then went to varadero for the next 10 days, beautiful honeymoon.
We went to playa del carmen, mexico, for our 10th wedding anniversary this march and renewed our vows on the beach with our 9 yr old daughter, again, a wonderful holiday !
good luck in your choice, some great suggestions already, but give us some more info and we can all narrow it down for you :tup

IItaly would be wonderful for a honeymoon, somewhere on the Neapolitan Riviera, it always seems so romantic there.

As Smoggynal has only ever posted 3 messages and all have been about suggestions for holidays without responding to the suggestions that people have made I'm not sure whether there is a great deal of point in any of us continuing to offer suggestions for the perfect honeymoon :D
