neavsie,

You're probably a little early to start selecting your seat, but can always give TCX a call and try. I think it's up to 98 days before your flight departs these days.

Hiya,

We have booked to go to Cuba (Holguin) on 22nd Sept for two weeks our flight number is TCX 73K/L. I am a bit unsure of the reserve your seat prices. First I read it was £12 followed by another £6 when you choose your seat, now I have looked this morning and its £20 each, do you still have to pay the £6 as well?

The best seats I could find are 12a & b outwards and 39a & b on the return are these seats ok? There was a double at the very back but they back onto the toilets.

Is it worth booking because the travel agent said 92% book seats now and we would probably be sat apart, but on looking on the chart there are very few unavailable.

Also does anyone know what films will be showing or do you have to hire this psp thing.

Many Thanks

Anne

paradiselover,

Seating is really personal preference. The rows you mention offer the same seat facilities as any other, but are obviously in different part so of the aircaft. The pairs towards the rear are nice if you're travelling as a couple as you won't have anyone next to you. It is worth pre-booking seats together or selecting you seat if you want the peace of mind of having known seats together or want a particular seat. I've already booked mine for a flight in 5 weeks time. A friend flew out to Cancun last week and was split from her friend. It's your decision really and whether you'd be too bothered if you did get split up. IFE information is available on our What Aircraft? guide (link below) with a link to TCX's inflight magazine including the current listing around page 119 (August - October edition).

Just my quick views on my recent travels with Thomas Cook Airlines

Travelled on a 757-200 which had to be the most cramped and uncomfortable charter aircraft I've ever flown on. The blue leather seats were worn and dirty and the surface covers around the bulkheads and overhead lockers were peeling away

The food (although included in my price) was bloody awful even by charter standards and the on board prices were pretty expensive and none of the drinks were chilled

Flight Deck were informative and friendly throughout the same cannot be said for the Cabin Crew who clearly saw passengers as a blockade to their socialising at 38,000 ft and didn't have any idea about goods on board (trying to sell duty free alcohol before being pointed out we were going to Spain)

Ps
You can sell duty free on flights to canary Islands (Spain) so perhaps the a/c had been loaded with this in error and crew had a blank moment??

Darren,

Thanks for your reply. Can I ask as a matter of interest what seats you like to book?
I am going to book 12a & b going and 39a & b coming home, my husband thinks it's better to sit in front of the engine but I do like the two seats at the rear as I hate disturbing people if I need to get up.
Is it 33" seat pitch now on Thomas Cook?

Also do I have to pay £20 plus the £6? The travel agent said if I didn't book there and then it would be £20 + £6.

Thanks for your help,
Anne

paradiselover,

Seating information is on our What Aircraft? guide (link below). Seat pitch, unless otherwise advised by TCX, is 33" on long haul flights operated by the A332's. You'll have to go through the booking system for the price, but expect it to be £20 (seating together) + £6 (seat selection).

Hi once again :)
Flying out with Thomas Cook to Dalaman from birmingham on Saturday at 1750pm flight number is TCX507K

Can you let me know what type of plane this will be and will there be the likelihood of "extra leg room" seats which arent on an exit due to travelling with child under 16?

Many TIA

Karen_uk,

BHX-DLM-BHX (TCX507K/L) are operated by a Boeing 757-200. You'll find further aircraft information on our What Aircraft? guide (link below). The only extra legroom seats that aren't on exit rows are designated medical seats (row 1 D/E/F, 2 A/B/C, 12 A/F) and therefore can't be prebooked unless you have a medical need.

a332 is abbreviation of a330-200.

Seat pitch is maybe 1" more than a 757

Darren,

I have booked those seats it saves worrying about being split up. I booked on-line and it just charged me £40.00 it didn't mention anything about the £6.

Thanks for your time and help,
