Wrong forum but I know Villamartin very well and yes it's very nice but you will need to hire a car to get around as everything is so spread out and there is little or no public transport available. The kids will love the local beaches which are a lot cleaner and safer than those found on the Costa Brava and there is a good water park in nearby Torrevieja to keep them amused. There are plenty of child-friendly bars and restaurants in and around Los Dolces but it's a bit of a 'little britain' so to sample some good spanish places you will need to visit towns like Torrevieja, Guardamar, Mil Palmeras, Pilar de la Horadada, San Pedro or San Miguel.
