the ata hotel was pulled down two years ago and a new shopping mall has been built there which is a vast improvement with restaurants and shops if you was last here over 10 years ago oh there are major changes it is so different and alot bigger :sun2

Hi Maverick, thanks for the reply. Not sure how I feel about it being knocked down, seems a shame really, but having read the latest reviews (before demolition I assume!) it appeared the place had become a bit run down. Certainly sounds like Hisaronu has changed a lot, it hasn't become another Marmaris has it? I remember a charming little resort with just enough bars and restaurants to keep us happy for a fortnight. Has it become very commercialised now?

its has changed but not as much as maramris hopefull it has slowed down a bit now have a look on my website i have a dvd download filmed last october on there could give you a bit of insite as to what it is like now :sun2

When I first went to Olu in 1987, no-one used the name Hisaronu - it was just called "the Ata area", named after the oldest hotel. There were a handful of small hotels and a cafe that sold chocolate cake. The next year, a few restaurants had opened, and few more hotels. Look at Google Earth to see how it's grown - it looks almost as big as Fethiye. As much as I loved Olu, I don't think I could go back now. I'm sure it's lovely, but when you remember it without a paved promenade, with no electric lights along the front...

apshelbourne it has changed dramatically from then the only bit still left is the old house on the left it is now caynon tours i think
my friend has one of the oldest pensions there its up near the turkish paradise its called the gurhay motel and had the biggest swimming pool and yes you was lucky if there was any lights anywhere and also lots of power cuts
oh things haven't changed that much lol :sun2
