This is our 2nd visit to this hotel and can not fault it to be honest. Spotless, good variety of food choice and fresh!

The hotel location is set back from the resort front yet only an 8 min walk away.

The staff are hardworking and the holiday reps were very approachable and friendly. We have a 4 year old who loved going to the mini disco and even the bingo!!!

Would recommend this village for families with children under 10. For early May there was no queuing for drinks etc and was quite relaxing by the pool.

Def would return to this hotel.

We stayed at this 4 star complex but we did not rate this as a 4 star more like a 3 star.

Cleanliness of hotel first impression when you arrive can't fault and the grounds are well maintained but the rooms could do with a bit of help sheets were not changed. Maids don't come on Wednesday or Sundays.

Food its not brilliant especially for the kids. Breakfast is the best one can't go wrong. Lunch dinner the same menu really. Poolside bar yet again poor queueing up and takes ages for simple stuff like cheese ham toastie, or pre packed salad.

Location set back from Can Picafort only 8min walk easy enough to walk in town

Staff the reception staff are helpful and friendly but can't say that for the rest as the are all to busy to talk all they say is next please fast as you can.

Entertainment we went the first couple of nights for the kids disco etc but yet again it lets us down even my 5 year old said he was bored and we went into town on a night

My husband and I spent a lovely week here in the middle of May. It was a late booking and so we paid almost half price. The complex lived up to the brochure description - it was clean and well laid out, with plenty of sun loungers (but you must get up early to bag one!). The place was overun with babies and toddlers and whilst we expected this to a degree, we were surprised at the actual number.

Our apartment was excellent - we requested high and quiet and got it. There were two wardrobes, comfy beds, bath with shower and separate walk in shower too. Big balcony spanning the lounge and bedroom. The maid could have worked a bit harder though (the floors often needed a good sweep) and we did have to complain about one of our bed sheets being stained and torn, but when we reported it to reception, they were really great about it and it was changed within the hour.

The restaurant was the average and what you'd expect for a 4* AI. Stay away from the steak when the chef's cooking it - mine was as tough as leather! However, there were two other restaurants Italian and Caribbean. Would recommend the assorted crostini starter and lamb and fish main courses in the Italian and the fish starter and fish main course in the Caribbean.

The hotel and restaurant staff, entertainers and First Choice reps were all very friendly and there were plenty of them.

We wouldn't return again, mainly because we generally don't go back to the same place. However, I would recommend this complex to friends with children - it's perfect.

Stayed here on our first family holiday with two children aged 3 and 18 months. Stayed first two weeks in May.

Hotel was excellent, rooms a good size although could have been cleaned a little more thoroughly. Microwave and fridge were very handy with the children.

Stayed AI which worked well. Food was fresh, good variety and never any shortage, even at busy periods. Staff were never rude even though they were working flat out.

Childrens facilities were excellent - childrens reps worked hard to keep all the children entertained. They never seemed to be off duty. A good variey of activities and the evening sessions were a great idea. Jacqui and Shona, the swimming reps were excellent transforming our water shy daughters into real water babies.

Staff said that the hotel was pretty much full however there was very little queuing or delays in service. The children always got into the kids clubs when they wanted to go.

You do have to be up early to get a good sunbed but probably no worse than anywhere else.

Children loved the kids disco and show, 3 year old was very reluctant leave Goulash.

Hotel was a short walk from the resort centre and beach but not too far, even pushing a pram. The resort wasn't as nice as others on Majorca but pleasant enough.

We would definately recommend this hotel to friends with children but would suggest that those without them might be better off staying somewhere else. May well consider staying here or another Holiday Village again.

We have just arrived home from the Viva Village today.
We stayed for two weeks and have had a lovely holiday.

We are a family of 5 consisting of 2 adults, a 12 year old, a 9 year old and and a 1 year old, this hotel is not exceptional but for a family holiday it would be hard to beat it.

I would NOT recommend this place to couples or families with older kids but if you have kids 12 and under its really good value for money.
It can be noisy as it is a large complex but thats the nature of holidaying with kids.
I think it would make more sense to make this an all inclusive only resort as having to queue for soft drinks and snacks is a little bit annoying. (My husband and I have been on an all inclusive before and only ever had to go to the bar for alcholic drinks, with all the food and soft drinks being out for everyone to help themselves to).

I read this site before we went and there is a mix of reviews so we were anxious as to whether we would like it because we are quite fussy and had never done an all inclusive with the kids before.

HOTEL CLEANLINESS. Ok the main bits of the hotel are very clean, the pool area is sweept and floor washed every night, beds locked up etc. there are always cleaners in the restaurant cleaning under the floor, which is great when you have a 1 year old who wants to feed herself! Watch out for the highchairs though they don't seem to clean these plus some people sit their kids in them in swim nappies, which do not catch wee! so have some baby wipes handy to clean the chair!
The walkways around the hotel are power washed each day, there are lots of bins about, and they have a recyling scheme, there are bins just for nappies.
It is a shame that some guests are too lazy to use the bins properly, especially when bins are marked and are right next to each other!

With regard to rooms thats a different matter - not impressed as it is suppossed to be a 4* hotel. Room cleaned quickly, basically beds made up and clean towels left. Linen only changed twice during our stay and the floor which is tiled was not washed once, by the end of the fortnight I was wearing shoes in the room all the time.
My one year old suffers with ezcema and has to have cream on after her bath, but we had to put her in the cot or buggy to do it because otherwise she would be totally smothered in dirt from crawling on the floor, in fact by the end of the holiday I barely let her crawl in the room as the floor was so dusty.

HOTEL FOOD....if you are only doing 1 week it would be great, there is plenty of choice but to be frank I was fed up with the food which became samey after a fortnight.
The mexican and spanish nights are pretty much the same food, but there was always something for everyone to eat, you'd have to be pretty fussy if you couldn't find anything at all!
Breakfasts are always in the buffet and there is loads to choose from. The toasters take ages and I had to make this everyday for my little one, I usually gave her this and fruit plus watered down fruit juice. There are also pancakes and fry up stuff plus meats, cheeses, pastries, fruit, cereal, yogurt pretty much anything you could think of.
Lunch you can have either in the snack bar, which I wouldn't recommend, food a bit mank looking and not much choice, although the pizzas are nice.
I would head to the main restaurant instead, where there is much more choice. You can use the caribbean restaurant and italian in the evening, once a week for each. Nice to sit somewhere different at the carribean but food a bit of a let down. Italian is within the buffet but food well presented and nice to be waited on. They give you a wine list which has a cost, but order by the glass instead, it is not the same wine you get in the buffet, it is served from a bottle and is very nice and of course is free! Evening Snacks are basically sandwiches which you get at the main bar. Very disappointing and I think there should be more choice, but boils down to having self catering people there, as I said before if this was totally all inclusive they could just leave out a cold buffet.

HOTEL LOCATION is about a 5-10 walk to c'an picafort and the beach. We didn't see this as a problem, we hired a car in our second week to see the island anyway. If you are coming with a baby, don't bring all your stuff there is a good supermarket in c'an picafort which has wipes, nappies (didot is papmpers)milk, food etc, don't buy in the hotel shop which is overpriced, directions are: come out of reception and follow road to end. Turn right and walk the length of the hotel, cross on next block and walk down to end of this road, supermarket at the end on the corner of this road.

HOTEL STAFF - they earn their money! You see the same people at breakfast as you see at 11 o'clock. Most seemed friendly and all made a fuss of the baby which she loved! You have to queue to get drinks at the bar but they serve really quickly.

ENTERTAINMENT - again they earn their money. Mostly it's the entertainmment team, although they do get some people in. There was a really funny comedian one night and an excellent singer another. The evening starts with kids stuff at 8 and then there is bingo at 9. never played before in my life and groaned about it on the first night, but decided if you can't beat em join em and won the house on the 4th night! the entertainment starts at 9.30. all the girls can really sing especially torie.
As for the guys well they try and Tom, bless him is just so camp, mostly we just laughed at him murdering a couple of songs, but it all adds to the fun.

WOULD WE GO AGAIN? I have put yes, but actually we never go back anywhere, but if I was the sort of person who did I would go back as the hotel is good.

Overall if you have small kids this is a great hotel and there are lots of things that we didn't really make use of like kids clubs and the splash park. Maybe because we travelled slightly out of season it was better as we never fought for a sunbed, (although get up early if you want some shade,) as there were always loads about and we always got a seat in the restaurant, most people who were there were friendly and we have come home really relaxed.

Me and my mum have just returned on Tuesday from a week stay at the Holiday Village Viva. We stayed there from 19th - 26th. Transfer time from the airport is about 1 hr. We had a really nice time but would not stay there again. I will go in to more detail below.

Hotel Cleanliness - Just like everybody else on this board it was spotless. Always people cleaning. Rooms were cleaned except wednesday and sundays they don't come om these days. Sheets on the bed were changed, floors were cleaned. Our apartment was very clean and very large.

Hotel Food - The food was very nice but on the menu everynight there always seemed to be either pork or veal cooked in everyway you could and there was always fish. Breakfast there was always cereal, pancakes, fruit, full english breakfast, and bread for toast. Be warned the toasters take forever, once I put mine in 6 times and still did not toast properly. Lunch I can't comment on as we were down the beach everyday and just bought snacks. Dinner as I said always had veal or pork but there was always chips, and some nights they had chicken, pasta etc. Deserts they had a lot of but sometimes had the same things. The menu could be improved.

Hotel Location - The Hotel Location was in a very nice quite area about a 8 minute walk to the beach without young children.

Hotel Staff - They were great, always there to help and very friendly. The same goes for the First Choice reps. They are there from 8am till 9pm and always helpful and the notice board always has places to visit. We spoke to one couple on the beach who were with Thomson and they said there reps were never there and you has to call a number to speak to them and all the announcements were in German so I can't complain.

Entertainment - I can't comment on this as we never watched it because buy the time we got back from the beach everyday and had dinner it was about 9pm and we were very tired. Childrens entertainment starts about 8pm then Bingo at 9.30pm and adults entertainment starts at 10pm and we could not stay up that long.

The hotel overall is very nice but hardly anybody spoke to us. There were a lot of very unfriendly northerners who were there and we were told that there would not be many children there as it was mid September and were informed by billy the first choice rep that there were 200 under 5's there and that did not include the other children.

Did not use the pool as was full of children. I can't complain about the sunbed situation as was not peak season and seemed to be sunbeds free.

The beach at Can Picafort is really nice but full of germans. It is 7.50 euros for 2 sunbeds and a palm tree which we payed everyday except for friday when we went to the can picafort market which is worth going.

We would not stayed at this hotel again not because it was horrible but next time we will stay somewhere either self catering or half board as we never took full advantage of the all inclusive package. We would defintley go back to Can Picafort as it was a really lovely resort.

We stayed at Holiday Village Viva for 2 weeks, and we had a great time. The apartment was lovely, very clean and quite large too in comparison to others we have stayed in.

Bathroom had a bath and a separate shower which was good. Complex was clean and well kept too.

The food was generally ok. The breakfasts were good plenty of choice pancakes, cooked breakfasts fruit and cereal. The other meals got a bit 'samey' it was always veal or pork and everything was smothered in garlic, good if you like that sort of thing, but we thought it could have been better. Meals at the poolside bar were quite good burgers, salads , sandwiches what you would expect.

The evening entertainment for kids was really bad it consisted of a really 'cheesy' themed kids hour all about a dancing purple monster called goulash and his adventures on crowsfeet island. This was the only thing that I could really grumble about. Didnt see any more entertainment in the evening, so couldnt comment.

Kids koved the kids club, always lots of varied activities.

On the whole a lovely place to stay would go back tomorrow

This was our first holiday abroad as a family so we were worried something would go wrong and spoil it for us but we had a fabulous time and were extremely happy with everything.

The hotel was spotless everywhere there were staff cleaning all day every day.

The food was amazing how anyone can say it was boring or repetitive I don't know! They must have gone to a different hotel! There was so much choice and so much food every day all day!!! I love my food so I loved it and so did the children!!

The location was great just a short walk to the beach lovely and quiet no rowdy night clubs outside the hotel or busy roads.

Entertainment was ok as good as you'd expect from a holiday village.

We would visit this hotel again we are really missing being there!
