This is our second time at the Lagotel. Hotel is still really good and food has improved, albeit for children it is still very poor. No menu displayed until day we were leaving which was not ideal as sometimes you had no idea what you were eating.

Entertainment at night has though got worse. Hotel satff are attempting to entertain the crowd or they are bringing in poor quality acts, except tribute to Temptations and Rod Stewart.

With the poor entertainment the hotel some nights was very quiet, so by trying to save money on the entertainment provided they are loosing money as no one is buying drink!

2 pools - excellent although the one that opens at 9am seems to attract people who can not sleep, i.e. waiting on gates opening from 8am!

The rooms are excellent and spacious.

Would return again in the future but only if the entertainment improves and they have a new bingo caller - if you are about to visit the Lagotel you are in for a treat with Jimmy from Seville, he is the worst bingo caller you have ever heard!

I was pleased to note that the hotel rooms were clean and well maintained as was the hotel in general. Food was generally very good although we chose to eat out on two of the nights for a bit of variety. Breafasts were wonderful with a great choice of food for all people. Staff were very friendly although the entertainment could be a bit ropey. Our daughter loved the kids mini-disco as did all the younger children at the hotel.

Would I visit hotel again - I am not sure for several reasons:

1. Number of teenage boys roaming around spoiling games for younger children, taking over the pool and being very boisterous without any chastisement from parents or staff

2. People reserving sunbeds even though notices were up advising visitors not to do this - staff made no attempt to stop it happening

3. Lack of security - several rooms broken into during our stay

4. Dress code in restaurant not adhered to again even though it was clearly stated that it was required

The hotel ws lovely - the guests are the problem!

Just returned from two fantastic weeks in Lagotel. Kids loved this hotel so much that it was difficult to get them to go out and about in the evening.

We were self catering and had a very large 2 bed apartment. We were able to upgrade to HB and we thought it was very reasonably priced. 5 Dinners and breakfasts cost 55 Euro for a adult and 35 for a child. Food was good some nights and really good others. We always managed to find something that everyone liked even the fussy members of the family. Breakfast was also very good with some wonderful fruit available.

Kids loved the pool area and we only took part in the sunbed rush a couple of mornings. We always managed to find a few beds in the afternoon and there are areas of shade in the main pool area if we didn't manage to find an umbrella.

Entertainment. Well what can I say. We enjoyed it, a lot better than some of the 1st choice Entertainment we have had in previous years. For the last few nights we had a new Bingo caller Jimmy and boy did he love the sound of his own voice. Some of the shows are better than others.

The whole complex is wonderfully clean.

If you are expecting to be in Alcudia you will be disappointed. It is a good distance from Alcudia but their is lots to do in the area without having to go into Alcudia each night.

I did find some of the gangs of teens off putting and I think my 12 year old found them a little intimidating and sort of held back on joining in because they seemed to take over things. I think the hotel could have done with some security at night in the bicycle rental area where these older kids seemed to congregate. I would loved to know where their parents were, they only seemed to appear on the last night.

All in all it is a wonderful complex and we will definitely return.

The hotel was great. Our room was small but sufficient for our use the cot bed(child) was squashed in beside the twin beds which made it impossible to get to the bed without climbing up it but that was our only concern (it stop our 5 year old falling out of the bed though).

The food was fantastic you had several choices every meal, salad and hot, and could return as many times as you wanted (our eldest didn't stop going up for more). The lunchtime menu at the cafe were limited but you didn't always need to go after the large breakfast.

The pool was great 2 areas for the younger children to play in their depth and then a separate deeper pool. The pools in the club over the road were also clean.

The entertainment was very kid friendly we are still singing the mini disco songs at home. The clubs were great sylvester club and wavelength club keep both children happy and the reps were friendly and very helpful.

We have just returned from the Lagotel following a wonderful holiday. We arrived to a warm welcome and were pleasantly suprised when we entered our room to see how spacious it was. The hotel was very clean and very well decorated and the staff extremly helpful. The food was absolutely fantastic with plenty of choice - we would return again just for the food! Although my 12 year old son did not wish to join in the kids club there was so much to do. Pools were fantastic an no rush for sunbeds as one area opened at 9.00 and the other at 10.00. We would recommend this hotel and will definately be returning in the future.

We arrived at the Lagotel on 20th June. 2 adults. daughter 15yrs, son 10yrs. First impression was that the decor was a little dated and the staff were flustered as 2 coaches arrived at the same time.

We stayed in an apartment (6th floor) overlooking the pool area. I don't normally like staying in a hotel with lots of floors but must admit the views were great. I had to ring reception because we had a couple of problems with air-con and cooker wouldn't switch on and the staff were not very polite (must have been still getting over the 2 coaches arriving at same time)I was also informed that if I wanted an electric kettle I would have to hire one....What!! I wasn't impressed!!

The weather when we got there was overcast, which didn't impress my daughter. However, the next day the sun burnt away the clouds (thank goodness) and the weather from then on was glorious sunshine.

The hotel staff were mainly friendly, especially the waiters. We didn't see much of the entertainent but my other half played bingo one night and won 280 euros....get in!!!

Much to the delight of all my family who made alarming noises when the last number came up. The bingo caller was a laugh too (sorry, can't remember his name) with lots of catch phrases.....(Aye yi, yi, yi, yi, yi, yi..If you go there you'll know what I mean)The world cup was on while we were there and the hotel had a large screen in the bar but this was obstructed by the many pillars in there. So, we went down the road to an English bar called Cheers and watched the footie there...Great atmosphere.

The hotel location was not that great and as we were s/c we found that the choice and quality of restaurants in Playa de Muro a bit disappointing. However, we went into Alcudia 1 day and 2 nights and the choice there was much better.

The buses were every 15 mins from the main road but did get very crowded.(1 euro per person on the bus. about 8/9 euros in a taxi)They also had live entertainment on a large stage on or next to the beach on both nights we went there. The reason why we picked this hotel is because it had good review on this web site, with people returning year after year.

However, I'm not sure I'd choose this hotel again, mainly because of it's location. But don't worry if you've chosen the lagotel because I'm sure you'll enjoy your stay....Have a goodun' !!

Just returned from Lagotel, Had a great holiday.
Apartments were very clean, towels changed daily, rooms cleaned every couple of days. The lunch time food was very nice and resonable enough, tried the buffet style one of the nights ok wide variety to choose from, but was not intrested in going back another night. Pool and toilet areas were lovely and kept very clean. Staff were very friendly and reception staff were very helpful.

My seven month old daughter got sick on our second week, We brought her to the doctor in the apartments who sits twice a day, he seemed to be very good and spoke perfect English, he cost us 75 euro.

We would have loved to return here next year but unfortunately we will not due to the mossies, we got bitten alive, My husband got so bad that he could not go to the sun for the last 2 days of the holidays.
I dont know what it was but everyone seemed to be suffering for the bites, it is such a pity becuase it was a great place.

We have just returned from the Lagotel Hotel and Apartments. Although overall this was a nice complex with lots of facilities for everyone, this was a disappointing stay for us. On arrival in the early hours of the morning, our toilet was leaking very badly when flushed, our room phone did not work and we had masses of ants everywhere. After reporting all this, the problems were sorted quite quickly. The toilet had to be completely replaced and the phone was repaired eventually. We also got the problem with the ants sorted, once we located a dead bird in the fire exit next door to our room which was obviously attracting them in very large quantities! The apartment itself was very roomy and adequate for our family, however the kitchen area was tiny and very sparse. After washing the dishes, they had to be dried straight away as there was no worksurface area to dry any dishes on. The small hob practically joined the sink! There was no kettle either. It was back to basics or pay 13euros per week for an electric kettle. The cleaning in the apartments was very poor. We brushed and mopped the floors ourselves which wasn't ideal but necessary. Although large, the rooms were very dated and in need of modernisation. The adults beds were the most uncomfortable we have ever slept in.

While we were there, there were 4 rooms burgled so be warned! Be advised and take a safe as there was no sign of a break-in in any of these rooms. The room doors are meant to be self-closing but do not close properly and many people returned from a day at the pool to find their room door open! You actually had to pull it shut very tightly and then double check it was locked. There were lots of complaints at reception about this, then the day after the first spate of burglaries happened, the maids didn't arrive in for work apparently! We actually had someone try to open our door which wakened us during the night after the Pirates Adventure Evening.(By the way this was a fantastic show which we would recommend to anyone). After the burglaries, to add insult to injury, the people had to pay

Just returned from holiday at Lagotel. Not one of our most pleasant experiances.Although rooms were quite large, the cleanliness wasn't to sharp, still had sticky marks on floor when we left after 2weeks.

Security a big dissapointment especially in this day and age.Doors not closing properly and swipe cards given out willy nilly.

Went half board and have to say the resteraunt staff were the best. Food was of a good variety and no upset stomache is always a bonus..

Pirate show well worth the money, but the sunday market in the port is a lot cheaper than the paying for organised trip..

Mosquito's a major prob, couldnt sit on balcony at night or outside in area as eaten alive. Some people red raw from the bites..

No good rushing for sunbeds if you have a bad back as have to unstack them every day and place where you want to lay, never saw them being cleaned either.
Loud music till around 12 and then noisy kids playing football etc.

Great weather, shame about the rest of it..
Went to the beach, nice if you like the jelly fish..

Once again this year we returned to the Lagotel for the fifteenth year in a row, and as usual we were not disappointed.

The breakfast menu offers a great choice something that everyone will enjoy. The evening menu has both a great hot and cold selection to choose from evening.

The location of the hotel is great as it is set back from all the hustle and bustle, but just a short walk away you have all the shops and restaurants that anyone needs.

What can I say about the entertainment staff Fabian (the boss), Jim, Vincent, Ilona and Danielle nuts total
Full on nut cases. The three main reps Phil, Gavin & Jo were also outstanding all the and willing to help.
Bar staff never really change always helpful and friendl a few new faces this year.

Just to pick up on a point made earlier by another guest, when we were there in July there was one room robbed, and what do you expect if patio doors are left open and people choose to leave money, passports, cameras, moblies, tickets, psp and other items laying in a drawer instead of paying a small amount to hire the safe in your room.

Would I return to the hotel again?

Of course we have already booked for next year along with 8 friends, 5 of which we met this year on the first visit and the can't wait to return, the other three friends we met years ago and the return every two/three years with us.

All that
