JUST BACK FROM ALMINA , STAYED A WEEK.CLEAN COMFORTABLE PLACE, GOOD AIR CON

What can I say about Almina? Rooms basic, but at the end of the day all you need is a bedroom and bathroom as it's cheap to eat out. Having said that, if you chose to eat in then just make sure there are only three of you as that's all they seemed to cater for. Cengis and Nemid were two lovely guys but how many hours did they work???? They seemed to have very little time off. Also the music was very off-putting. It was on from morning till night and very repetetive too. On the odd occasion it was so loud you had to shout to make yourself heard. On the plus side, the food in the restaurant was really good. Try the sea bream. Gorgeous. Also the prawns were out of this world. I would go back to Almina again but only for a week, as I don't think I could put up with the music for two weeks. It would also be nice to see the guys again. They're fantastic and go out of their way to make sure you're OK. And Cengis, thanks for the bike ride. You really made a middle aged woman's day!!!!

Have stayed here 3 times now, including for our honeymoon 3 years ago.
We are planning on returning in 2009 with our children (7 & 1) and my parents.
Basic accomodation, but comfy and we made much use of the air con! Well worth the money.
Quiet location, but only a very short walk to the main resort area (even I didn't mind and I don't do walking!) with a plethora of restaurants. Also Bodrum nearby is worth a visit.
Food is good though we tended to eat out most evenings.
Loved the staff. Mustafa remembered us from previous visits and the bar staff are friendly, and most speak quite good English.
The 'Turkish Night' was good fun, although the belly dancer was a bit moody (she was a stand in for their regular one!).
Nice, quiet pool side and a baby pool too. No life guards on duty - but then again there rarely are in these places.
Can't praise the place enough. Already excited about our holiday there next year.

I'm just back from a week in Gumbet, staying at the Almina Apartments! I was there with my friend, shes 29 & I'm 26...all we were looking for was somewhere to sleep & get ready for a night on the town!
The apartments are literally 5 minutes from the beach, and about the same to Bar Street! They are further out of town, but in a lovely quiet location - no problem getting to sleep when we finally crawled home! They are clean & tidy, and all look onto a small (but perfectly formed) pool!
The only complaint we had was we were on basement level, and our balcony looked onto some bushes etc - but apart from that, we were perfectly happy!

The Almina Apartments were excellent we had a fantastic holiday. With only 18 rooms it was small but you always had a bed by the pool and new most of the people around it.
The staff were excellent very entertaining,day and night, but if you had a problem they sorted it out straight away.
The food in the restaraunt was fantastic and the prices good. It was a little walk in to town and this meant it was nice and quiet, the only downfall was the sleeping 2 beds a sofa bed for 1 and a camp bed, hmm, but it was great.
I would recommend it to anyone that doesnt have problems walking.
