After reading so many bad reports on this hotel,we were very scared about going there.
When we arrived we were met by a friendly older man who helped us carry our cases to our room.
We were very suprised by how clean the room was,yes it was basic but it did state that in the brochure!
The maids came in every day with clean towels and were friendly and helpful, as were all the rest of the staff including Ali the drunken manager. So what if he enjoyed a drink he was always polite to us and helpful!!!
We would definately go back there, so dont be put off by the bad reveiws you read!

The room was basic, but that is all we wanted.
The hotel was noisy late at night, with slamming doors and loud music.
The breakfast was truly awful, even though we paid for bed and breakfast we ended up eating breakfasts elsewhere, but on the positive side the location of the hotel was good, only a few minutes walk from the town centre and the swimming pool and surrounding area was nice to relax in during the afternoons.

After reading all the horrific stories about this hotel I have to say I was terrified but on arriving at the room at 5am-ish, was helped upstairs with my case and found the room to be lovely and clean. Very basic, 2 sets of drawers and wardrobe. The bathroom was great, didn't flood once and the shower was fantastic, nice and powerful.
Only encountered this manager once and did find him to be very grumpy and unhelpful. Also the younger members of staff at the pool during the day were a bit more concerned with having fun than serving you but that wasn't exactly unbearable.
The night bar staff are fantastic and if you treat them like human beings they will treat you like royalty. I noticed a lot of holiday makers being very abusive and patronising towards them which was horrific as they survive on little or no sleep from May until October.
The bar will stay open until you can stay awake and the location was ideal for myself and boyfriend, only a 5 min walk to the bar street.
Do get the air conditoining though, it's around

When we first arrived at the Ugur hotel we had no expectations as we had not read any reviews.
I felt slightly disappointed in the basicness and size of the room.
The pool area was pleasant and well maintained, (with a good looking pool boy!)
The breakfast is what I had expected, a typical Turkish one, but we enjoyed it thoroughly..The bread was always fresh..if we wanted seconds, Dave would happily oblige.
The location of the Ugur was great because it was close enough as well as being a nice distance away from the loud clubs.
One thing I have to say is the loud music Dave used to play out at nighttime, was not my cup of tea and disrupted my sleep!!
But all in all we had a great week full of laughs and plenty of sunshine. Thank you Dave, we enjoyed the grapes!!! xxxxxx

I visited the Ugar hotel with my 13 year old son. although the staff were fairly inept, the location of the hotel was excellent for all town and beach activities.
The drunken manager, ali, was a great side attraction and source of entertainment for all the guests. breakfast was was a non-event and we ate out every morning, the room was small but clean and practical.
The swimming pool was always clean and the surrounding area was in sunshine all day with a fairly well stocked bar. the little supermarket 30yds to the right was worth a visit for cheap drinks.

Pleasantly surprised rooms basic but clean. pool area cleaned all day. Susie behind the bar is lovely and remembers everyones order brilliant with our kids. Ali the owner works really long hours and survives on little or no sleep.
The hotels location is brill just 5 mins to town centre.The maids changed the beds everyday and left clean towels. Breakfast is Turkish but very basic however bread delicious and fresh.
All in all the hotel was fine we had a fantastic holiday and would stay again.

Day 1
Arrive at hotel, not what we expected at all... very basic rooms and small bathroom
Day 2
Breakfast included: bread, butter (unsalted), jam, tomatos, cucumber, resort is lovely
Day 3
Hung around the pool for a while, very small pool not the cleanest either, kids pool was the size of a bath possibly smaller
Day 4
MR FROGGIES KARAOKE BAR!! is the best place to go, peking was good for breakfast very nice chicken sandwiches, so is magnific by the beach lovely hotel n pool there
Day 5
Beach is lovely very hot and sunny around this time of year bout 51 degrees!
Day 6
Went home, not that sad to leave
Overall the holiday was great but the hotel was a bit of a let down as the rooms werent so great, we we're quite lucky with our room apparently there is worse. Susie is lovely very helpful and if your short of towels theyre all hanging up on the roof. Met some lovely people aswell so i would recommmend the resort but not the hotel so much. Try not flood the bathroom with the shower as it takes a while to dry and is very slippery.

Bed and Breakfast? Uncomfortable old creaky bed in a cramped room with terrible shower (that broke) and water that wouldn't go down the drain for half an hour and air conditioning that you have to pay for as extra (

Arrived at hotel at 5.30am on a Sunday morning, porter would not give us a safety deposit box, so locked our room, went to sleep with handbags next to bed. Woke at 9.30am to our door being wide open & bags emptied by the door with all money & mobile phones stolen. Asked the hotel manager to ring the police but initially refused stating the room hadn't been broken into, the hotel owner was very loud & abusive.
The police arrived & took us to Bodrum police station, not an experience I would like to repeat. Goldtrail rep finally arrived at the police station but was no use, brought an interpreter who didn't speak English. Police finger-printed the room & the powder they left on the floor was still there 4 days later, when we finally got the cleaners to clean the room.
The rooms were awful, ours could be accessed straight from the street,without anyone knowing you had entered the hotel, not at all secure. The rooms were very small, 2 beds & a really small wardrobe. Bathroom was terrible, toilet that leaked, shower head from the ceiling that kept falling off & a wash basin. We asked to move to another room every day but never happened. Towels & sheets only changed after we had been asking fro 4 days.
Breakfast had to be seen to be believed, 4 mouldy olives, 1 piece of cucumber & tomato & a hard boiled egg that when opened was black.
The hotel manager was very abusive all week but on our fourth day he completely lost the plot & started shouting at us stating he was contacting the rep to have us thrown out as we were ruining our reputation, we were scared of him, as he was drunk 24hrs a day on vodka. Eventually the rep managed to change hotels for us.
Anyone reading this report please take my advice & don't use this hotel.
