PSML You cant be that desperate surely Lyn ? :rofl

Im glad it seems weird booking summer 2010 holiday before I have gone on summer 2009 holiday.

Looks like the TO's are probably fed up with people who book 18 months in advance complaining that the time of their flight has shifted by a couple of hours. ;)

It's usually late April/early May for the following summer season. I seem to remember last year they moved the goalposts a little so you could book in a travel agent in April/May but online booking wasn't available until around June; obviously they were trying to stop internet bookings and keep their high street travel agents in business.

Just been into thomson to enquire about holidays summer 2010, as this time last year I had my brochures

They expext the brochures for summer 2010 to come out round June 2009

I wonder if the current price of the euro is playing a big part in all of this

Got this link off another thread, Thomas Cook have released their distant shores preview brochure may 2010 to oct 2010. The others should follow soon.

Preview brochure is at the bottom of the page.

TC longhauls are definitely on sale now, people like to book in advance for something a bit more expensive or far away, not that much choice of hotels at the minute. However they have said that the european programme is on hold for the forseeable future. Each tour op is waiting for the others to take the jump and go on sale so the other came monitor their sales to see if it's worthwhile putting the brochures out.

I predict they will go on sale about the time of the main lates season in July, so families who will not be able to afford what the tour ops are offering on so called "late deals" during school hols can be convinced to book early for next year instead to guarantee they get a holiday. I'll stck my neck out and say this year will be much more expensive than any of the years previously. Book now if you want a bargain and book self catering. £1000pp plus will be the minimum come july for 2 weeks AI. Just my 2 penny'orth.

I would have a small wager that 2010 summer holidays will also be more expensive. The Euro and Dollar exchange rates against the GBP£ are so much stronger at the moment and the tour operators will have lost some of the advantage of buying forward (hedging) their currency for next year. I think part of the reason they are holding back from launching brochures is that if they cost on the current exchange rates the prices will appear in the brochures +30%. I think they are hoping the GBP£ will strengthen.

went in town today thomas cook are saying brochures out next week and first choice got big posters in window saying available soon i dont think anyone knows

Phoned Direct Holidays yesterday to ask about 2010 and was told they will be available to book from 1st June. We'll see...

My usual budget for a holiday is around £500, this get me two weeks H/b in Cattolica Italy

So if the prices have gone up all because of the strong euro, so if this adds an extra £200 to my holiday for 2010, then I wont be going, and i think this overall could affect hotels in europe, maybe these hotels drop the major travel companies, and give there accomadation to someone else

First Choice shop says June for 2010 Brochures Summer Sun etc but they are already selling Long Haul 2010 Holidays.

Thomson shops say brochures out early next week, and Thomson and First Choice 2010 brochures wil be on sale from 23rd April.
Can't wait - but expect prices will be high - not sure if it will be worth booking early
