I am having such a ball ache with this company. I booked a package holiday with this company for May 2011, unfortunately do to financial circumstances we could no longer go and out a request in online to change our dates. Just like it says. This was in July 2010.
Apparently we were supposed to receive a reply within 48 hours but nothing came through. We called them up and spoke to a woman who said that they sent an email but we didn't respond to it, so the new request dates had been scrapped. Now nothing came through our email from them, however we had no problem receiving the initial confirmation form.
I put in another date request like they said on the website, again they said this would be dealt with in 48 hours, again we had no email confirmation or no message on the website. Again I call them up and they say that an email has been sent to our address but we haven't responded. As you can imagine we are getting very frustrated by now.
I send them emails messages asking for there help to change my holiday dates but nothing...no response what so ever. They tell me not to put any more requests in and wait for response but nothing. I have to call them up again, bearing in mind we are now in January 2011 and my holiday is coming up in a few months and they are wanting the holiday balance settled in full in one week, they now tell me that they want an extra £800.00 for the same holiday. So theres no way were doing that.
I ask them to assist me in finding new dates, she just told me to go through the whole rigmarole of requesting new dates again. How on earth am I supposed to find new dates when they dont bother telling me if the requested dates are not available. I have not had any conference from them with regards to them not meeting our new date criteria, nothing. They just haven't bothered telling us that our new dates aren't available and been left waiting only to have to call up again to go through it all over again.
Well tonight i have gone mad on the telephone demanding that they help us find new dates or I want my money back...I mean how long does it take to sort this out. R they delaying this so they can take the full balance from our account next week, which she has admitted that they will do if we don't cancel our original holiday and loose our £1000.00. I did want a holiday, but how can i trust this company anymore, when they can't even help me adjust my holiday. This has been going on 6 months and as far as there concerned were still going on holiday in May 11. I could scream.
I have been waiting for the general manger to call me back now for 3 hours, but he's not going to is he. I have been completely messed about, and having done a search on this company am beginning to see what there about. I have asked for a full refund but she basically laughed at me and said If I cancel I owe them £400. They are the reason I want to cancel, complete incompetence. I shall not let this lie, I shall try everything to get my money back..any advice will be gratefully received.

With respect your post makes hard reading. It would have been better with some paragraphs.
You say you have been emailing them and apart from an acknowledgement you have not received any others. It could be that your s p a m filters are blocking them.
People assume that firing off an email is simple. No it is not. There are various reasons which I will not go into that makes email not the best means of communication. The fact that they have said they had sent you emails that you say you did not receive should have rung alarm bells. Try writing to them - sent recorded delivery so that it can be tracked online?

I agree with fwh. I would write asap recorded delivery.
Without knowing what you booked and with which company it is difficult to know how much you stand to lose, but it definately wasn't a package holiday as OTB aren't ATOL protected and don't sell packages.
It is sometimes more complicated to do amendments to these type of bookings, as depending flights, they constantly change availability and price. Therefore confirming dates and prices is not always accurate information. They can be gone or changed in price by the time you get the information from OTB.

You really do need to check your s pam filters before going off at the deep end - once a company can hide behind, when emails are apparently repeatedly going astray you have start to consider other explanations as to why they are insisting that they replied but never had any response from you.
In this instance, please also remember that this started because having entered into a contract with them you changed your mind about when you wanted to travel. With a company that deals in 'dynamic packages' only it is not always easy to dismantle it and make fresh arrangements for another set of dates, much less for the same price. This won't have been a package in the traditional sense that they could reasily re-sell on to another customer 2 months after your original booking.
I'm sorry that you've had such a stressful experience but one of the big problems with using a company that only deals in 'dynamic packages' is that it does create problems if you need to make any changes at a later date.

Thanks for amending things Glynis. It does make things a little easier, but it still does not change the advice I have given. The OP has fallen into the same trap as many others by assuming that because he got an acknowledgment then emails can freely pass between the two. Personally I would have been sending a letter once I found out there was a problem, if only to back up my email. It is not a package holiday as Sunaddict has said and SMa backs up my comment about S P A M filters probably being the problem - again something we here on HT have heard about before.
Perhaps the OP might come back and update us having read our comments as to the possible cause of their problems.
