I'm stuck between two hols, can anyone help?
Excellence - Punta Cana - Dom Rep
1. adults only
2. apparantly on one of the best beaches in the carribean
3. cooking lessons (I love cooking & you have time on holiday to indulge).
Sensatori - Riveria Maya - Mexico
1. Thompson holiday
2. separate adult areas
Both appear to be great food, with great restaurants.
I can get them both for a similar price, but the Sensatori is booking with Thompson (more secure in this economic climate) the Excellence is with an independent travel firm.
I get the impression the beach & sea (snorkling) is better in Punta Cana, BUT I COULD BE WRONG
I think they both do Spanish & Dancing lessons (Strictly, Dirty Dancing anyone) - not sure if the dancing lessons are available at the Sensatori
I could be wrong but I'm a little less worried about holiday tummy at the Sensatori than the Excellence & this AND the booking security are swinging me towards the Sensatori.
Any advice in the beaches & sea (for snorkling)?
Any advice on day trips & the cost of them?
These factors will swing this holiday
If you're worried about financial stability I thought First Choice (Tui) offered the Excellence?
I would go to Mexico over the Don Rep every time, Silk purse over a rite pigs ear of a country. imho
Just a little warning about the beach infront of the Excellence it is more golden in colour than white , the white beaches of Punta Cana are further down South of the area and if you like the ocean for swimming I dont know if you have read or been told but it can be rough and as a result it is often red/black flagged infront of the Excellence where the seas are alot calmer further down the coast.

I was under the impression that the Excellence had a better beach & sea bathing/snorkling set up than the Sensatori?
So is the beach & sea in front of the Sensatori better?
