We just returned from spending three days in the Dales, the weather there was pretty good, lots of sunshine though there was a cold wind on two of the days. We did a five mile and a seven mile walk and lots of sightseeing. The scenery is gorgeous, very impressive. We are hoping to return later on this year, it's a great destination for an active holiday.

We had a few days in Wensleydale a few years ago, stayed in a village called Redmire, B&B at the village post office, next door to the pub, lovely area.

Returned yesterday from a lovely week. Ok - the weather wasn't brilliant although nowhere near as bad as we were expecting. There was quite a lot of rain overnight and early morning but this just made for very impressive waterfalls - everything has a positive side!

The cottage in Stainforth near Settle was absolutely lovely - the 4 star grading well deserved - VERY warm and extremely well equippped. Lovely quiet village - one pub and that is it. Very good supermarket (Booths) in Settle just 2 miles down the road - stocks a lot of local produce.

This is a fabulous area - stunning scenery which seems to go on for miles and miles.

Will certainly return at some point in the future.
