We have just returned and we had a fanastic holiday that I would recommend to anyone with a young family.

I was concerned when I read some reports about the food in the hotel however the food was beautiful, none of us went hungry and more importantly no one was ill!

The rooms were beautiful and everywhere was clean with the exception of the toilets downstairs near the restaurant.

Our kids aged 7 and 3 loved the evening entertainment and if the kids are happy you can relax and enjoy the free drink!!

We found the majority of the staff to be really friendly in particular restaurant and bar staff. There were a few staff who were a bit miserable but you get that anywhere.

We didn't really have much to do with the reps other than the kids reps which were excellent. We enroled the kids for swimming lessons with the first choice swimming teacher - she was fantastic, the kids loved her. They also received a certificate at the mini disco once the course had finished which they thought was brilliant.

The only complaint I really had was really to do with First Choice - at the time of booking I paid extra to keep our room until time of departure however 3 days before we went we were sent a letter stating that the policy had now changed and we had to vacant our rooms by 6pm. However this wasn't the hotel's fault - first choice shouldn't have advertised something they couldn't guarantee!!

We had a fabulous time and would definetely go back.

Booked last minute then read reviews and was worried. No need, turned out to be good value for price paid.

Had two very large interconnecting rooms, as travelling with two teenagers, with sea view and good facilities.

The food was good value considering the price we paid, not nouvelle cuisine but good home style basic stews, curries, steaks chicken etc. Fantastic salad bar and other veg. Breakfast also had full English available. On the down-side, restaurant did appear too small for number of guests and was very busy until 8.30pm and at breakfast 8.30-10, when you had to queue for tables. There are other a la carte's available though. My only negative comments were the lack of plates and cups with people having to resort to plastic drinking cups for tea and coffee in the restaurant and lobby bar.

Drinks were good most things available, except bar staff causing queues at busy times

Booked this holiday only 5 weeks in advance and then read the reviews and was very worried indeed.

However...........
We had a fantastic holiday!!!!!!!

Hotel was clean and all cleaners worked very hard.
Location was great so much to do and every day was different.

Hotel staff were very friendly and absolutely adored our children and made a real fuss of them.

Food was good and none of us ever went hungry or struggled to find anything we liked. We ate in a'la carte restaurants for a few of the nights and the service was great our glasses were never empty and the food was fantastic. The staff really made us feel so welcome.

We didn't watch the entertainment every night but the nights we did it seemed very good.

We had a few problems like one of our rooms was given to the wrong family but with the same surname but the hotel staff were great and we had a room within a couple of hours and they let us keep it on for longer on the day of checkout for free.

On the day we were due to fly home in the evening there was aproblem with the hot water so we couldn't all get showered and out of the room by 6pm but that was no problem, the hotel said it was fine to stay in the room until we were all ready. They couldn't have been more helpful.

We will be returning to Bulgaria in the future and are looking to buy a property further inland.

We have just arrived back from Royal Park and are pleased to say that we were pleasantly surprised as like alot of people we had read the reviews after booking this holiday and were dreading it.

We went all inclusive as we have two boys and did not want to spend time walking around every night looking for food. Generally we were really pleased with the food, it did get a little bit boring at times as it was mainly meat of some description. If you were lucky and they were bring out fresh supplies the food was piping hot and fresh. We did have a little bit of stomach trouble but could not say it was definitely the food or to much sun.

We found the hotel mainly very clean however at times the main reception smelt to vomit, not very pleasant but some people were ill probably from to much alcohol.

The location was good, a bit out of the way but safe for the kids to wander as they couldn't really go anywhere. I would recommend the hotel for people with younger children, mine are teenagers so found it a bit boring at times until they meet other people in the second week.

The hotel staff were all very nice. They absolutely work there socks off 24 hours a day, at times there were cleaners outside at 3am in the morning still working, no wonder they are a bit grumpy at times. Our children were to old for the kids clubs and there was no entertainment for them.

The evening entertainment was okay but not very exciting. The usual kids disco, bingo and then a little show, some of the first choice reps were okay they worked hard but the shows were not very imaginative.

The thing we found the most difficult on this holiday was that there were just to many people in one place and at times the visitors moaned about everything, I felt that if people visiting had a bit more respect and cleaned up after themselves or watched what there children were doing a bit more often then the hotel would have been alot cleaner and more pleasant to stay at. Over all we had a good holiday here.

Hotel Cleanliness in general found the cleaners worked very hard only problem we had was we were only left towels 2/14 days we were there.

Hotel food no problems, plenty to choose from can become a bit boring after a while. Our chldren aged 7 and 3 enjoyed the childrens restaurant outside between 12pm - 2.30pm brilliant ladies serving food fantastic always smiling. Chloe loved the barbie table whilst Jack enyoed the spiderman and batman tables.

Hotel Location perfect for families felt very safe, superb beach location, lots to do.

Hotel staff some were very pleasant and helpful whilst others can be very sullen. Private pier were you can catch the boat over to Nesseber worth a visit beautiful.

First Choice Reps - Kiara,Jen,Rachel,Natalie and Laura were fantastic with our kids and more imortantly our childen had a fantastic time. Plenty to do during the day, water park worth a visit.
Entertainment worked very hard, some good shows and mini disco brilliant.

Problem with our rooms on checkin not given sea view rooms and not given a suite until Friday evening at 8pm. First Choice managed to sort Mom and dads room out straight away on the Friday. But our Family room it was down to the receptionist who got us our room. After that no real problems

The hotel complex was fantastic, 2 pools and free use off the on-site waterpark. not to mention the beach! Everything was at hand and kids could do as they pleased.

The front of the hotel was manned 24/7 to stop non-guests from entering and each end of the long stretch of beach was fenced,so it was all very safe. The complex is shared with village apts and the royal bay hotel, couldn't quite work out who was allowed to use what, but everything you need is at our end anyway and I think this is the best of the three options.

The hotel itself was very clean we had no problems with towels got clean ones every other day. and the room was cleaned every day. I think it depends on your cleaner ours was very good, tip her at the beginning of your hol and I am sure she will look after you.

Our room consisted of decent size bathroom with shower over bath, that worked fine. The room was 2 single beds and a sofa bed for the kids, which was ok for us kids are small, but if you have big kids they are not very comfortable for them and lots of people complained about this, even if you pay adult price for your child you will still get this sofa bed. Which I think is a bit unfair.

The food in the restaurant was ok, I say ok because our own family had mixed opinions..I loved it, husband struggled, and kids lived on chips rice and salad. there was nothing wrong with it, it really depends on your own taste. However in the second week there was an English chef brought in and things like toad in the hole and roast dinner appeared on the menu. Throughout the day the snacks and drinks were nice but be prepared to queue for these and them have them thrown at you.

I found the Bulgarians very grumpy all of them not just the hotel. So I just put up with it. Never forgot my pleases and thank you's though still couldn't crack a smile from one. Never mind.

The staff worked hard but were very slow at everything including serving at the bar, At night it seemed such a chore to get a drink as there is one bar man and one beer pump that runs at trickle pace. My suspicion is that it was because it was all inclusive, had we been paying I think there would have increased the staff, pumps, and got more glasses!!! Stands to reason. You can have a walk around the complex and have a drink in all the bars including the village but you get plastic cups in all, and it gets a bit boring. There is one paying bar on the complex that is never very busy unless there is a match on, you get a nice pint and a Bacardi breezer for 10 lev (about

After reading a few negative reports was slightly apprehensive about this holiday but we went along with a view that we would make up our own minds - and I am very glad we did !! We had a fantastic holiday and can say it was the best all inclusive holiday I have been on and tremendous value for money.

The resort was lovely, positioned right on the beach and there were numerous swimming pools and an aqua park.

The staff worked around the clock and although they were not gushing with friendliness they always responded with a smile and hello if you made the effort to be polite to them.

Was impressed with the variety of food available and even the most fussy of eaters wouldn't go hungry. Some Brits did moan a bit but if you expect British food then stay in Britain is my response. Didn't try any of the other restaurants that were available so cant comment on them. The only down side was that as it was high season the restaurant did at times appear to small for the demand and consequently we did have to wait for tables but we just changed our eating times to when it was less busy.

The First Choice entertainment staff did a fantastic job and was well impressed by the shows they put on. Kids were having a great time and if they are happy its half the battle !

All in all we were very impressed, had a fantastic time and would not hesitate in going back.

Went with family and we had two rooms next to each other. Rooms fine, bit cramped if you have four in them. There are two single beds and a sofa bed, but the sofa bed is very uncomfortable. Fantastic seaviews - really was a wonderful view to wake up to. Wake up early (around 6:30) for the great sunbed race - but all part of the fun!

I had no problems with clean towels and sheets etc, but my sis next door had to ask on several occassions for towels, as either not enough or none had been left.

Food was fine, plenty of choice, the pizza served from lunchtime at the beach hut was lovely, (unfortunately - though signs saying only serve one per person, greedy people (an exceptionally large family who I heard working out how many pieces they were going to eat each - where collecting three plate fulls each and leaving us genuine diners waiting even longer, waiting for more to be brought out. The bar-b-que area was also really good and made a change from the hotel meals, and further down the complex you can have roast chicken or kebab at certain times of the day.

The staff work long hours and dont speak english, but my shower broke and was fixed within 10 minutes, when I needed clean sheets they were brought to me within 10 minutes - very efficient.

Only couple of gripes really is the dining hall, ban smoking because you still have the really ignorant brigade that will light up if there are no signs, hunt for a table got a bit wearing, especially as there was seven of us, and really annoying to see a table for eight with only two people on it.

Finally the all-inclusive drink, only had one barman behind the bar most nights and only really served beer and brandy (that was revolting) at outside bar. (tip: buy chocolate milkshake from the shop and mix with brandy - makes it very drinkable!)

First choice entertainment was very "school-kids giving a concert" but had us in stitches, (even though it weren't meant to be funny, shame one member of the team thinks they're a star, way above the rest - do better next term!!
