Stayed at the Hyatt end Jan/ beginning Feb for a week half board with my husband.

Weather was good, 20 to 25 degrees, bit of a breeze. Got cold after dark, which was about 5pm when the sun went behind a badly placed mountain! Also had a thunder/sand storm one night that shorted out the power for 10 mins, but for the time of year we did well - got a good suntan!

Hotel was great. Plenty of sunbeds (hotel was definately under capacity this time of year, so no fighting for space), gorgeous grounds with lots of exotic plants and flowers, and buildings etc all very good quality, well thought out. Swimming pools good, 2 heated, 1 not, plus huge jacuzzi and Lagoon. Room was nice (had sea view thanks to Gold Card) - clean, spacious, reasonable quality of furnishings, lovely bathroom and large balcony. Had a TV with 3 movie channels, BBC World (as normal), a cartoon channel and a few other English channels. Much better than other places I've been.

Breakfast was good - cooked english (well, an attempt at English! Everything you expect but a little different!), waffles, eggs however you want them, cereals, continental.. everything. Served till 11.

Lunch was not fantastic. Hubbie had worlds WORST pizza, not very good burger, fish and chips etc. Being veggie I had the only veggie sandwich (on ciabatta, etc, nice but got boring). Also Some pasta dishes. Best was fajita wraps at Tannour. Prices

Great hotel-huge & never crowded.

Food fine- varied if you like foreign food which we do.

Staff OK- working hard for tips but they hardly get paid much & only get a few days off a month so are always there.

Take plenty of 1$ bills for tipping.

We stayed in the Taba Heights Hyatt Regency hotel it was excellent. We stayed for two weeks, I wanted to stay longer.

The staff are kind and the entertainment is good especially the disco that goes on untill early hours in the morning.

If you want a relaxing but entertaining holiday this is the place for you.

We are coming back to this hotel at Christmas.

Flew out without any hitches at all arrived in Taba airport, got off the plane and boarded a bus which took us about 100 yards then we got off again, seemed a bit pointless. Then taken to a small area before going through passport control where we had to fill in our visa cards, which we were supposed to have been given on the plane. So there was a bit of a hectic few minutes there with people standing around trying to understand what they had to do.

After this was filled in we went through passport control, where our passport was stamped and then on round to be checked once more before entering baggage reclaim. Had to pay to use the toilets and pay to use a trolley, so make sure you go to toilet, before landing, and just wheel your suitcase through and out to the coaches, which are only a short walk away.

Journey to the hotel took approximately 45 minutes and we was given some tips on how to enjoy our holiday.

Upon arrival to the hotel we were greeted by staff and they took our cases off the coach and then we went through to reception where we were given our room key and a free complimentary drink. We then went back outside to identify our cases and tell the staff which room we were in. We then got on a golf buggy type cart and a member of staff drove us to our rooms pointing out the way to walk to the reception and dining room on the short journey.

When we entered our room (E209) we were amazed, it was really nice, clean and the decor and architecture was amazing. Our room had high ceilings very spacious room and the balcony was nice. We were on the second floor (because of gold passport we arranged 2nd floor prior to visiting, I'll explain in a bit) so we had a sea view and could see part of the lagoon and also to the right we could see the reception roof.

Our bags were then bought to our room a few minutes later and we went to tip the porter but he refused to take any money from us and wished us a good holiday and left us to get on with our holiday.

Grounds of the hotel are immaculate with clean paths and nice beach, could do with a toilet nearer to the beach though because it is a short, but still fair walk, to the nearest toilet once you are on the beach, especially if your room is not nearby as well.

Swimming areas, lovely, only on 3 days of the whole 2 week holiday did we find any trouble with getting sunbeds at 11/12 o clock.

Food in the Limoncello was nice, but after the first week began to get a bit repetitive. Didn't notice much for children either apart from the "kids favourite" of spaghetti, tomato sauce and chips. Although I must praise the egg station, for supplying you with your choice of omelet, boiled egg, fried egg, scrambled egg or poached egg every morning, the different types of bread available (about 20 varieties!) and the desserts about 10/11 different desserts each night as well.

Dinner times were 7-11:30 and breakfast was 7-11.

Staff were very friendly and spoke relatively good English, and learnt your favourite drinks after only a few nights.

Food was reasonably priced for lunch a gorgeous cheeseburger, salad and chips was 5.20, but it was very filling and absolutely delicious. Cesar salad was 4.20, soup was 2.00. We found room service meals worked out at the same price as going and eating lunch somewhere, so if it was hot we would order and eat room service in the comfort of the air conditioned room.

We ran a tab and for two weeks, for me and my partner drinking whenever we wanted (including one bottle of local wine for

Arrival and transfer from Taba Airport was actually fairly quick and organised. When you are given the "visa" card on the plane just write SINAI on the back if you're not planning on visiting places like Cairo, there is no cost if you are just staying in Taba and Sinai region. Transfer time was about 40 mins through winding roads through the mountains when you finally arrive at Taba Heights.

Hotel check-in was well organised, you get a welcome drink and envelope with room details, then go back to the drop off point at the hotel entrance to identify your luggage with your room number which is delivered ASAP.

The rooms are perfectably acceptable, fairly well equipped and clean. I would say that the rooms are 4* quality, but as a beach resort this is fine. Take a kettle if you want as there is not one, if you want to email ahead of your visit, with your "gold passport" number then request a room on the 2nd floor as the ground floor room views are blocked by gardens of palms, bushes etc.

The hotel is laid out very well, you don't have to walk miles to get around it all, I stayed in "J" block which was close to the pool, beach and restaurant/bars but not noisy.

There are 3 main pools, a sculptured pool by A, B, C blocks which also has a lap pool next to it, and also the gym, sauna, steam room, sauna and massage are located there. Then the split level pool is between the main building and beach, this is a nice pool area, very relaxing, then there are plenty of sunbeds on the beach with straw umbrellas and they are well spaced out for privacy. The sea is pebbly/stony and is more ideal for doing some snorkelling or just walking along the jetty to see the fish.

There are plenty of bars, a beach bar, breezes bar by the split level pool, el fresco bar by the sculptured pool, on the rocks bar for evening time for cocktails, entertainment, Palm Court bar for evening time in the open air where you can crash out and have a shisa.

Food during the daytime is at Breezes, burgers, salads, big sandwiches, also at El Fresco where there are Lebanese style kebabs and wraps. The evening meal and breakfasts are in the Limoncello restaurant, buffet style, kids snacks, pizza, salads, usual western style food, indoor seating and outside on the terrace. Sometimes it seemed very busy in the restaurant, but they always replenished the food quickly and I thought it was very good quality, sometimes you had to wait a bit for drinks.

The lunchtime snacks were about

Hyatt Regency - felt unsure about going to Taba Heights and nearly cancelled a few days before leaving. Really glad we didn't. Taba airport bit of a shock when landed as just a couple of sheds and a small building inthe middle of nowhere. Immediately hassled for money to use the toilets and by the driver loading cases into coach. However, all worth it when we arrived at the hotel.

Although security rather strange as your hand luggage didn't go through archway and even if you set off the machine you were just waved through. Meet by a very friendly staff with a welcome drink of their local juice. Sea front room was excellent. The grounds and facilities were very well laid out.

Coral reef to die for except the water was extremely cold so we hired wetsuites on a couple of occasions (about

The hotel was kept very clean with an army of staff constantly keeping the public areas clear of any debris which might offend the guests.

The food all in all very good.

Because of the isolation, there is not really anywhere else to visit.

Whenever leaving the hotel you are advised to carry your passports because of the tight security.

Hotel staff-excellent.

Entertainment is something that we didn't really take to. What we did see was OK.

Having read all of the reviews we were pretty sure what to expect in relation to the location and entertainment. Having 2 young children with us I have to say that we went over the Xmas period, 20th to the 27th and the hotel couldnt have done more for Xmas had it been in England.

Santa arrived on a camel on Xmas day, there was a Christmas Eve dinner with traditional english dinner available. Rooms were spotlessly clean, we asked for a large room when booking and Peltours arranged interconnecting rooms at no extra charge.

Would advise that you get a Hyatt Regency Gold passport (free from the web), this saved us

We travelled in low season in mid November. The weather was fine, hot enough to sunbathe everyday by the pool but get up early, we were by the pool by 9.00 and left by about 3 when the sun went behind the mountains. It was dark by 4.30 every afternoon.

The pools were not heated and cool but fine. They start heating them about now to take the chill off. The sea was warmer than the pools. In the evening you don't need a pull over unless you are eating outside.

The hotel was pretty empty, mainly UK and the now normal Ruskies who keep to themselves. Rooms were fine, we moved after a couple of nights for a better view. Most rooms are showers only but you can get baths. Not many extras in the rooms but decent films in English every night.

Food: was good all you can eat buffet every night and for breakfast. Not 5 star but not worth paying extra at the 2 other restaurants on site. (They're not very good at cocktails anywhere).

Snorkelling: AWESOME right off the beach or pier everything you want to see except sharks and you can hire all the stuff on the beach if you want.

Trips: We went to Mt Sinai with private driver organized though Max tours in the lobby well worth a trip if you like culture. PETRA on a day trip was the best hotel excursion I
