Have just returned from 2 weeks at The Three Corners El Ewkala Hotel

I have to say that that I went out with some fears about what to expect but they soon disappeared.

Although we were delayed by 3 hours going out the staff still met us with a cold drink and a smile and carried our bags to our room.

We had chosen to upgrade to a Duplex room and were glad that we did as it gave us a little extra space, the room had a fridge and hairdryer plus shower rather than a bath.

The weather was boiling between 42 and 48 for the fortnight and we were glad we had stocked up with sun cream.

We found the pool a little busy in the mornings and whilst It does state that the claiming of sun beds before the pool is open is frowned upon but it does happen although this may be due to a little tip to the pool guy to save your bed!

We usually went to the beach until 1.30 or so and then back to the hotel for lunch, a little siesta and then down to the pool about 4.00 for a couple of hours.

Overall the food was good if a little repetitive but have to say that it was more than edible every day and they do have some wonderful cakes!!!!!!!

If you want to go snorkelling I can recommend going off the Hyatt's pier as there are some wonderful corals and fish there, also the pier at the Sofitel is good fun.

We saw nothing of the First Choice rep except on arrival in Taba and on the coach going home that said we did not need him, others did and found him to be good.

Entertainment is a bit of a letdown really and the only thing that needs some work on, that said I also think that we as holiday makers need to get a bit more involved when asked.

I would suggest talking to Max (in the reception area) regarding trips as he is much better value than the reps and the trip we went on consisted of Quad Bikes for an hour and a half, a Jeep Safari to the Blue Hole, lunch snorkelling for 2 hours and then a camel ride all for

We stayed in the hotel for 2 weeks, very clean, friendly staff, entertainment terrible.

We had teenage boy with us so quite boring at night for him, spent a good deal of time in the room watching american tv channels.

Food is excellent. Would recommend days on the beach after a couple of days the beach attendant put out our towels in the same place and looked after inflatables over night which was a good help. The food at the beach not included in all inclusive but worth the additional cost.

We would return to this hotel but a week would be long enough

We have just returned from a weeks stay in the three corners Hotel Taba.

Overall we found this site increadibly useful when selecting our holiday and would like to contribute our review to aid other people in making the decision whether to come to this hotel and resort or not.

One thing I would like to first point out is tipping, from reading other threads we were rather concerned that we would be having to tip constantly and would get poor service if we didnt, the only person we tipped was the porter, we felt we didnt get any less or more service than any other person staying at the hotel by not tipping and staff certainly didnt expect it, all I would say is tip at you're own discretion.

To begin with we had a very plesent journey from the airport to the hotel and were greated with a warm and freindly reception, it helped that we had a chance on the bus to fill out the required information for checking in and this really helped speed up the process of checking in.

Having stayed in a AI hotel before, I was assuming the room to be fairly small, but our room was large and spacious and had a breath taking view of the sinai mountains. The bathroom was big and included a shower room.

I have to say we both found the cleanliness of the hotel excellent, the rooms were cleaned daily and left in immaculate condition, the majourity of the time the pool area was spotless and the waiters kept the dining area clean at all times.

The archetecture of the hotel was also of a arabic style and deffinatly made you feel like you were in Egypt and not in a generic resort any where in the world. We found there were several shops, a supermarket, bank and pharmacy behind the hotel and was surprised to find the supermarket sold English brands and the shops sold all of you're traditional egyption souviniers.

The main hotel pool was huge and looked bairly used and we were able to get a sunbed every day without a problem, however when we stayed the hotel was 1/2 full, so I can imagine the area geting fairly busy during peak season.

We found the beach also conformed to the high standards and decor of the hotel, although you could deffinatly tell the sand had been brought in. I would advise you bring sandles or buy beach shoes in one of the hotels shops as it is hard to enter the sea from the beach as its rocky, alternatively walk 10 meters up the beach and use the Sofitels jetty (its free), it made geting in and out of the water very easy. We both are novice snorklers and found the sea life amasing, my wife swam with turtles and one day we saw lots of rays, the coral reef runs parrallel to the beach for miles, however we found there was little sea life at WaterWorld and assumed this was more for diving so if you're just interested in snorkling id advise not to go there, Bearing this in mind we cant compare the sea life to other resorts and heard from other couples they were dissapointed with the sea life compared to Sharm and other holidays, so if you're going strickly for the snorkelling/diving I would do some further research in to whats actually there. There was a shuttle bus that run, or a waterworld bus and we didnt have to wait long at all to take the 1 minute journey from the hotel to the beach.

Id have to say the food quality was preety average and reminded me of the standard of food I had many years ago whilst at catered univeristy halls and at school, it is just bog standard mass produced food. Bearing that in mind the variety was huge and there were deffinatly different dishes every day from all parts of the world. We both agreed that we can see why people could love the food or hate it, all I can advise is not to expect Gordon Ramsey quality food.
I did have an upset stomach for a few days, although we cant be certain whether it was down to to the food or just a change in diet, it did not intrued on the holiday and after a few hydration packs it went after a couple of days.

we felt the entertainment is the only real let down of the hotel, this is partly due to the staff but also the guests. During the day it semmed they had an ongoing game of waterpolo, we were invited to play on our first day, but polietly said no, after this we were not bothered again, but felt the entertainment staff were quite rude to us after this, we also heard that several other couples felt this way. The entertainment in the evening, during 1/2 of the stay they didnt bother to put anything on and the other 1/2 we wished they hadnt bothered. Bearing that in mind we were there with a view and felt other guests had the same of a relaxing week/two in the sun and did not want to get involved in the entertainment at night or pool games.
We were very happy just to spend evenings sat on the terrace enjoying a drink and looking out on the view of Saudi Arabia.

The staff at the hotel have been trained to an increadbily high standard, we really did not have any quarms with them at all, The towel guy at the pool and captain at the pool bar, were really freindly, the guys in penuts bar by our second day, knew our drinks and had them waiting for us as soon as we had entered the bar and you were always greated with a smile in the restaraunt.

We did not eat at any other of the restauraunts on the complex as im not really a fan of mexican, indian or thai food. We also did not go on any excersions as we felt some of them were increadibly over priced, but generally enjoyed spending time by the pool than exploring egypt.

In conclusion the hotel fulfilled what we had wanted a relaxing week in the sun and to try a bit of snorkling, id have to say if we were there another week we may have got a bit bored, as there is nothing else in the whole resort. Id advise anyone who is looking for anything than to sit by a pool everyday and not do anything else to go elsewhere as we felt the purpose of the resort was just to fulfil that function, but did it extremely well.

Would we go back to Taba, maybe in 10 years time or so, to see if anything has happend to it, or just for a relaxing week in the sun, but both agreed we would like to see other parts of Egypt.

My wife and I stayed at the El Wekala Three Corners Hotel for 14 nights from the 1st May 2007.

Check in procedure was made alot easier by First Choice handing out registration forms and all inclusive wrist bands on the coach, this is a good idea.

On arrival our check in was easy and we were shown to our room, we had paid extra for a partial see view room but the sea view was questionable.

The room was spacious with a multi channel tv, free fridge, free safe, good sized wardrobes, twin or double beds, bathroom with walk in shower (no bath) toilet and wash hand basin. The room was nicely decorated and included a balcony, air conditioning good.

The restaurent was of a good size with plenty of seating, food as a 3* standard, buffet service, salad bar, hot food area, desert area, good waiter service for drinks, themed evenings which really did not differ from any other night.

Snacks on the terrace between 1600 and 1700 on certain days.

Excellent large swimming pool with a smaller childrens pool, free sunbeds, parasols and towels with a card system. Pool bar open between 1000 and 1800 offering all inclusive soft and alcoholic drinks by the plastic cup plus tea and coffee, food also available but at cost with exception of snacks between 1700 and 1800.

Good activity around the pool during the day and entertainment each evening, good childrens club called 'Trixie'.

Beware of the flies which can become a problem, mainly around the pool, they do bite and produce some nasty looking lumps!!!!

There are two speciality restaurents within the complex at extra charge but you do get an allowance.

Peanuts bar is pleasant and leads out onto the terrace open from 1200 - midnight on all inclusive after that pay bar, beware this is a smoking area and does get unbearable, especially if you are a non smoker.

This is a large complex built high up overlooking the finished golf course towards other hotels and the Red Sea, the hotel reminded us a monastry, numerious small shops within the complex plus a bank, pharmacy and a large supermarket.

The hotel has its own private beach with a free shuttle bus running every half an hour, the beach area also has a small swimming pool and beach bar serving soft drinks only on all inclusive.

We were disappointed with the beach area, the sand was course and led to a very stoney area prior to entering the sea, plus there were signs of oil pollution on the sea close to the beach.

Your all inclusive finishes at 1500 on your departure day irrespective of your arrival time.

The First Choice rep by the name of Sarah was excellent.

The staff at the hotel were excellent and could not do enough for you.

If you like swimming with the fishes, great, otherwise very little to do.

The weather during our stay was changeable, we even had some rain.

Now a word of warning, if you are a vegetarian beware the salad bar contains dishes that do not have any indication of what they contain and it is very difficult to see if they contain meat of fish.

The restaurant supervisor does not know what is in the dishes and he became very agitated after saying the soup contained no meat or fish when actually it contained chicken!!! SO BEWARE.

Numerious guests had to be admitted into the Medical Centre due to upset tummies and becoming dehydrated, so make sure when you vist you have adequate insurance.

We think there are better places to visit, so will not be visiting again.

Three Corners is very clean, spacious and comfortable. Our room was probably the largest we have ever had in a hotel, and the bed the most comfortable. We had a mountain view room which was nice and peaceful although it was quite a walk to the pool, restaurant and bar.

We were all inclusive which we were glad of because the price of alcoholic drinks outside the hotel was very expensive. We did not go to the other hotels in Tabba, there are 5 in all and you are welcome to go to them all for a drink, or as part of a Dine around arrangement which allows you to eat at any other hotel restaurant (not their AI bit) with a discount voucher from Three Corners.

The hotel was away from the other hotels and about 20 mins walk from the sea, but a bus free bus runs every 15 mins between hotels and also calls at Tree Corners private beach. We did go to the beach once, but preferred to be at the hotel.

The hotel staff were very friendly and hospitable, as were all the Egyptian people that we met. Tipping is expected, but having said that you do not feel obliged to, we tended to tip the staff that had given the best service.

The entertainment was poor, centred around the bar and usually just music and the odd performance. Most evenings were spent chatting on the terrace admiring the view from the hotel, because of the position of it all the other hotels were in front and lit up, and across the bay the lights of Israel and Saudi Arabia.

I would only visit again if I could get a really cheap deal, for a chill out week in the sun. Not because there was anything wrong with the hotel, we had a very enjoyable week and I have returned home very relaxed. I just prefer to see more of the country and its people when I travel and Tabba is just for tourists and about as far removed from real Egypt as you can get.

Do take the trip to Cairo, it was the highlight of our visit and lets you see a totally different side of Egypt.

Recently stayed at The Three Corners El Wekala hotel in Taba. First observation is that it is the friendliest hotel I have ever been to.

The staff could not do enough for you from the minute you arrived to the musical finale when we left. If you want shops and buzzing night life this is not the place for you but if you want to chill this is the place.

A must do is the quad biking - age does not come into it. Excellent pool and very clean beach about 15 minutes walk.

There is a regular bus if you need it Ignore any bad reviews from a couple of years ago - this hotel has improved no end. We have already booked to go back in november - can't wait.

After reading some reviews I have to admit this holiday was fantastic!! The animation team were great!!
They made the holiday, so a huge shout out for Yankee, Sam and Abdul!! They were great!!

The food was nice!! Salad bar amazing!!!

The staff could not do enough for you and were not impressed if you tried to do it yourself!! Bless them!!

The bar was just as good, never had to wait long and they did well with the cocktails for us and the group we met.

The staff all round were great and there was so much security I felt safe. I met the famous Tom Cruise and he is as lovely as they say!!

The animation team made the entertainment and even had me and another girl doing a few sketches for the show which was a laugh! As for the well heard of everyday "AQUA GYM!!" AND "WATERPOLO"... we even got volleyball at the beach and pool volleyball!! Cheers to the animation team again!!

I believe that every staff member works their hardest to please everyone and in my case and many others over there that we met this was full of really good people and gave me alot of good memories. It even had a good few tears as we come to the last day as we all knew we were gonna miss everyone over there and the laughs we got even the director of the hotel was up for a giggle!!!

You must go see the kittens in the shop further down from the bikini shop named after us girls - Jade, Sadie, Natalie and Charlotte, and also next to the shop with the paintings and another shop full of glass bottles there is a shop with snorkeling gear and souvenirs there is a sweetheart named Joun who has a turtle called Luke!! must see them!! everyone knows them!!

But no matter what bad comments that have been said about this hotel I believe me and many others on our holiday would agree this is a great place to be and we will all be going back!!!

But in all I would recommend this to anyone, if you want to make it a quiet holiday you can but you can make it as lively as you want... just get involved with the animation team cause they'll make it worth while and keep you happy!!

Were are all going back for the taba 06 reunion next year!! I'm going back this November to Taba but to another hotel but wish I could change it for this one again!!
Also its true about the sunbeds, tip the pool guy and your sorted!!

Hotel location was great only a cooling shuttle bus ride for 3 minutes and your at the beach!!

We stayed at the Three Corners for seven days for a diving holiday, this is a pretty standard hotel.

Food not very exciting and although they have a buffet each night for different parts of the world it was all pretty much the same. All inclusive isn't and there are several places you cannot eat unless you pay. You can eat in the main restaurant and have drinks up till midnight in the Peanuts Bar, however the drinks are not that special.

The whole resort of Taba Heights is linked to the Red Sea Waterworld watch out on prices if you find another company they may well be cheaper, great place for Novice divers, boring for Advanced!!

Just arrived back early hours of this morning and couldn't wait to sing the praises of this fab resort.

The holiday was amazing value for money and would definitely go back!!

The hotel was very clean and rooms bright and comfortable. Excellent towel sculpting from the room staff.

The food was plentiful and enough variety to suit all tastes. We tried chez pascal one night which was very good and we received excellent service.

The location was beautiful with lovely views of the mountains and sea. The grounds are very well maintained and security guards keep a watch 24 hours a day....not a great job but they are always friendly and smiling.

The staff were excellent, couldn't do enough for you.
You are made to feel very special.

The animation team are very good and always something to do around the pool if you wish but never any pressure. It was pretty quiet when we were there so I think at times they had a hard job to find willing volunteers.

Great beach, with lovely pool and helpful staff.
snorkeling fantastic. Best place is if you walk left along beach to a pontoon with easy access to the water.

We are already looking to go back at the end of the year. BRILLIANT

My friend and I returned from 2 weeks all inclusive at this hotel on 17th May and loved every minute of it.

The weather was beautiful, as was the hotel and its surroundings with canyons and the view of Saudi Arabia and Jordan.

How anyone could complain about the food in Chez Pascal I don't know, we went twice and the steak is possibly the best steak I've ever had and is their speciality.

The animation team do try very very hard and work impeccably hard to keep guests happy, but sometimes, as someone else said, some guests don't show any interest or appreciation.

The food was nice, but after 2 weeks, repetitive.

The hotel is spotless, we did have some problems communicating sometimes. Staff are very nice, most nights we rolled in after 3am, the staff at Peanuts stay open as long as they have customers.

Overall, I would recommend hotel without a doubt. I wouldn't say it was the best for young children as the kids club is quite minimal, but if you want relaxing holiday in a beautiful hotel with good food, lovely people amazing weather, this is for you. Enjoy!
