Following our holiday in November 2005 in the Louis Iberostar Ledra Beach, Paphos, Cyprus, we booked the Iberostar Regency Beach, Ayios Ioannis near Benitses in Corfu for our autumn getaway.

We were not disappointed. Louis Iberostar have hit the nail on the head again. I can only repeat the views of other guests who have put a review on this site.

The welcome is wonderful, there was no way we were going to be allowed to carry our cases to our room ourselves, the room was clean and very spacious. We paid a few quid extra for a sea view which I would highly recommend. The fridge was replenished with water before we even finished the one before, towels whipped away and changed daily and the room cleaned by very friendly maids again daily.

Andreas welcomed everyone to the restaurant in the evening and ALL the hotel staff were friendly and always served with a smile.

The food, what can I say? how we came away without having to pay for 2 seats each on the plane I can't say. From breakfast with champagne fir the orange juice to the late evening snacks, everything was fresh and so varied the only problem was in what to choose.

Yes, the beach is shingle, but personally we both prefer that to sand as the water stays so clear, and there really is nothing like swimming 5 metres off the beach with foot long fish in October.

The bars are a great place to unwind with beer, soft drinks, tea, coffee, spirits and cocktails to suit everyone. Round the soft drink machine at the beach bar the wasps are out in force but just ignore them they are interested in a free drink not stinging.

BEWARE THE MOSQUITOES I take odourless garlic capsules and only had a couple of bites but others had 50 or more. Take repellent and bite cream with you. The local chemist in Morataika was doing a good trade in cream at a very reasonable cost.

After our experience at the Ledra Beach in Cyprus where the animation team were fantastic we were expecting a bit more from the animation team here though. I know it was late in the season (we left on the Friday night and the hotel was closing on the Tuesday) but most of the advertised activities didn't seem to take place and in the evening the team seemed more interested in sitting in a group talking and drinking. That is our only small gripe though.

The location is a little out of the way about 2 to 3 Km each way between Benitse and Morataika, I would say hire a car for a couple of days. This can be done in the hotel lobby at a reasonable rate. Most of the island can be seen in 2 days and a visit to the capital is best done by bus which stops outside the hotel and only cost 3.6 euros into Corfu town and 2.6 euros back ??. The road is a bit dodgy to cross at times but there is a short very light tunnel from the hotel under the road straight to the beach and bar.

There is no charge for sunbeds and parasols unlike some hotels we have stayed in and beach towels are supplied for a small returnable deposit.

Can't really say more, would we recommend the Regency Beach ? Most definitely. In fact we intend to work our way round a few more of the Louis Iberostar hotels.

Fab Hotel. Second time here now.

Food is fabulous, lots of choice, also good choice of drinks. Lovely bar area near restaurant for nice quiet drink.

Staff very friendly, especially Andreas the bar manager. And Gianni and Nikos very nice too. All make you feel welcome.

Great pool area and nice quiet pool at top of hotel near childrens playground.

Entertainment ok,nothing to scream about, but very friendly. Oh and by way you kind of get used to Germans and wasps. But definitley go back.

Happy Holidays....

What a fantastic holiday! We have just returned from one of the best holidays we have ever been on. This hotel is fantastic in every way.

I have never eaten so much in my life, the choice and quality was fab! At Breakfast there was everything you could ever wish for from fry ups to freshly made pancakes. Lunch on the beach is divine, sitting over looking the beautiful beach, the variety is excellent, fresh and lots of choice. If you dont fancy the taverna there is a frequent supply of pizza, hot dogs and sandwiches served by the pool. Then you can go for freshly made pancakes and icecream on the beach late afternoon. Dinner is great, lots of choice, best steak I have ever eaten....Andreas the manager is brilliant, he takes the time to seat each family and always has time to chat about your day and make a fuss of the kids.

The hotel is spotlessly clean, the fridge in the room is replenished daily with water and tea/coffee making facilities. Fresh towels daily, even if you hadnt left them in the bath to be changed. The maids were all lovely, though they spoke little English they always had a smile and wished you good morning. The pool area is always clean, as are the bars and eateries. At meal times, empty plates were removed from the table promptly as are dirty glasses etc.

The location of the hotel lets it down slightly, it is a little isolated but there is so much to do at the hotel you don't really need to go out. If you do fancy a trip out, it is approx 10 euro by taxi to moratika or Benitses. I would not recommend walking, there are no footpaths and the scooters overtaking cars on the narrow roads mean cars are frequently swerving into the hedge to avoid on coming traffic.

The entertainment at the hotel varied from really good to average. The entertainment team, Aaron, Tamas, Judy, Anita and Erika work very hard and are excellent, entertaining both kids and adults alike. During the day there is always something going on, from Aqua Gym and water polo to darts, artery and football, all are made welcome from the tots to the elderly. (I know - even I braved aqua gym!)

In the evening, the imported entertainment was great, the magician is fab and the greek and disco dancers were fantastic. The shows done by the animation team arent quite as good, but what they lack in proffesionalism they make up for in enthusiasm and humour. The kids disco is great, just as many adults get up there to bop to 'The roof is on fire' among others!

We thoroughly enjoyed this holiday, I cannot think of one bad thing to say about this hotel. Although the black and yellow pyjama wearers (wasps) do get a little anoying hanging around the drinks all the time...but you get used to them and I am not aware of anyone being stung.

Would go back here year after year, they make families very welcome and children are made to feel very special by every single member of the hotel staff.

Hi This is the 4th year on the run at this wonderful hotel. The Welcome is beyond belief even new customers to this hotel.

All the staff are tremendously helpful and friendly. The rooms are very clean, the food delicious, all in all just a glorious holiday hotel.

One minor quibble if I may, the entertainment is of a below average standard as the animation team do not seem too enthusiastic in the activities ( all Hungarian) lovely kids but just have not hit the target this year sorry. But still go again? Yes definitely.

The hotel was lovely - very clean and well equipped with everything that we needed. The beach was fabulous with lovely crystal clear waters, although you couldn't walk anywhere without shoes as the pebbles were so hot!!

Swimming pool was nice and clean although there tended to be alot of ants and wasps, especially around the drinks.

The entertainment was not all that and more aimed at children during the day.

The hotel staff were great especially the bar staff downstairs and at the beach.

The food was plentiful with lots of variety and the pancakes were lovely!!!

Would recommend this hotel but dont think it is really for young couples as taxis have to be used to go out into the near towns.

This hotel is by far the best all-inclusive we have stayed at, the food is exceptional (unbelievable choice). The drinks unlimited and varied, Lowenbrau beer, a full range of spirits, cocktails, soft drinks, tea/coffee and snacks at all the bars (6 in total) and always served with a smile.

The room we had was spacious and comfortable with tea/coffee making facilities replenished daily as were the bottles of water in the fridge. The maids cleaned everyday and were never intrusive.

All areas of the hotel are spotless, and all the staff are both friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble for them.

The entertainment was the usual stuff but done with enthusiasm, Zu Zu and his team all worked hard to make everybody feel included.

The only downside to this hotel is the beach, no sand, stony sea, if it had sand it would be heaven, as it is, it is only paradise.

I will be back.

We booked this holiday last minute after looking at the reviews of it on various sites.

The food is excellent and plentiful, the room we stayed in was above average with an excellent view over the sea, superb!

The hotel staff are a credit and the hotel is spotless. It was so good we never left it for the whole week we were there.

We did not see any entertainment, quite simply couldnt be bothered, so we cant comment on it.There is a great choice of drinks available, so fill yer boots! Oh the wasps and the Germans you get used to them eventually.

Would we go back? YES.

Just come back from 2 weeks at the Regency which was renovated in the winter: new bathrooms, new beds (a bit hard)and new furniture in the rooms.

It was very hot when we got there about 35/40 and because there were only 2 very slow lifts, it was often hard work going up the stairs.

The Entertainment was geared to very young children and everything finished at midnight, all inclusive tariffs included. I thought that was a shame, and some entertainment especially for the older teenagers and young adults would have been welcome.

Still the food was excellent and plentiful, the beach clean, the sea clear and warm, the staff really nice and friendly if rather overworked and if you hired a scooter or a car, I would think you would then be able to see it all.

I would definitely recommend this hotel for families with young children, or young couples. If you have older children, they might get rather bored.

If you go there do say hello to the staff from me and a special thank you to Giannis in the bar downstairs.

Had a great time met lots of mad people not all with children of their own. Power cut one night for nearly 3 hours. Nobody came up to the rooftop where the entertainment was supposed to be taking place to appologise.

We managed to entertain the troops with the help of Lucy and Katie and their glow in the dark poi-pois [spelt right?] Hi Charlotte and Bethany also.
