After reading many reports about this resort on the internet we arrived not knowing what to expect. Let me tell you that you have nothing to worry about. The location had breathtaking views of Albania although it was a little in the middle of nowhere.

We stayed on the All Inclusive basis and on the whole the food was good, by the time we got to the second week though we were able to guess what the choices were going to be for dinner and tea. There could maybe have been a little more choice but the food that was available was enjoyable especially the kebabs from the snack bar at lunchtime.

The apartment was very clean with clean towels and sheets daily. I can understand however why some people were not impressed if they were staying on the Self-catering basis as the facilities for them were not that good. Apartments were a good size though.

The bar staff were very slow during the day and night although they got to you eventually. I know its a pain having small plastic cups round the pool during the day but after seeing how careless people were with litter we were glad that they were plastic and not glass as we are sure that there would have been plenty of accidents.

Make sure that you stress to your children about getting out of the pool using the steps. My son (age 9) had bleeding fingers and a very grazed stomach for most of the holiday. It is hard for them I know as there aren't enough steps for kids as it takes too long for them to swim round to the steps and then get out but believe me they will thank you for telling them in the end.

The entertainment was very average however the nightly bingo was fun. Just wish that some parents would control their children when asked to by the reps. It was so inconsiderate for those who were trying to play, its for their own safety too.

If you are going to go on any excursions make sure that you book them down the road at Tanja travel. The owner is very nice and speaks very good English. We visited the Aqua Park which was half the price of the Reps trip, this is definitely worth a visit. We had a great time there, lots to do for little kids too.

On the whole we had a great 2 weeks and would go again. We made some great friends and our son says that its the best place that he has ever been on holiday.

When we arrived we were shocked to see how pathetic the airport was. 2 baggage reclaim belts is useless. 2 flights were coming on 1 belt and the belts kept shutting down!
After getting to the hotel luggage got taken to our room. Location is good for relaxed, calm people who like to be away from noise and roads etc.
Beaches were fine but got extremely crowded in the afternoons.
We were Self catering and it was very difficult if not impossible to cook our own food in the room (apart from breakfast) as there wasn't any good food to buy from the local shops. There were NO restaurants around and I think that self catering should be scraped for this hotel as the All Inclusive food looked great.
On returning when we arrived at the airport and into the departure lounge we were amazed at what a small airport this was. About 100 seats max. and people were standing/sleeping/lying across the floor. The airport need to expand and develop because thousands of UK tourists go here each year. They have the space!

We stayed in the Blue Bay Escape, which it certainly was!

The location of the hotel was ideal for a relaxing holiday, away from busy roads and resorts!

The buildings and grounds were spotlessly clean. The restaurant was immaculately clean with friendly and helpful staff.

The food was varied and plentiful with an international feel, lots of fresh fruit always available.Lunch was provided by the pool, with a choice of freshly cooked kebab on a charcoal grill or salads, chips, pizza's,fruit, fish and ice cream!

The hotel pool was lovely with palms and flowers,a mad rush for sunbeds, but only the same as other hotels!

Entertainment was children based with a hard working team, and if it wasn't to our taste we simply walked to the hotel bar for a quieter drink!

As in many Med. countries there were a lot of mossies but we went prepared with sun creams containing repellant (avon) and citronella candles for the evening! we escaped with a few bites! Also recommend repellant spray for the evening, especially around the ankles! But don't let this put you off as this hotel is truly worth a visit,I would certainly go again.

Been on many a family all inclusive and this was one of the best. I would definitely recommend.

Food and accommodation were excellent.

Location was a little quiet but there was a couple of shops that you could have a stroll down to after dinner.

Ideal family location, kids clubs was good, entertainment was similar to most all inclusive entertainment and it's very difficult to please everyone.

Mozzies are a problem at night my friend got bit to pieces, I was a lucky one.

We loved the hotel.

The entertainment was a bit ropey but the staff were excellent.

We loved the food and the location. Waking up to a view of the Albainian mountains was fabulous - we loved it.

The Blue Bay Escape has to be the nicest and cleanest place i have ever stayed. the room was HUGE with fantastic air conditioning in the l.room and both bedrooms. enormous balcony. Fantastic service the rooms were cleaned/towels changed DAILY. A beautiful place. Lovely pool area , we never had a problem getting a sun bed any time of the day at all. Entertainment not bad although we hired a car so were not in the hotel complex too much we spent a lot of time at the resorts of acharavi and kassiopi. we particulary liked acharavi, although the better beaches were at kassiopi. both about 10 mins drive away- hotel bus ran several times a day there if you dont have a car. we were self catering but ate in the all inclusive buffet a few times. food was okay as far as a buffet goes (we ate plenty and the children did too and the greek breakfast treats were nice!) i was impressed with the standard of accomodation. The staff were great too.

we returned from bbe on the 13th july, couldnt fault the hotel on cleaniness rooms were cleaned daily, even picked up few things we left on the floor.

the food was excellent ,catered for the children with there own buffet space and had something diffrent every night we stayed from tradditional greek food right up to lamb chops ,curries etc .lunch times round the pool area there is a buffet from 12.30 which has a great selection although the snack bar should be open later on the night for those peckish times.

The hotel staff were excellent and friendly and found no real problem getting served at the pool bar, cup situation is a bit of a let down they really should buy some plastic glasses like you get at english pubs where kids are about.

people did order more than four drinks at a time and didnt get refused,as long as you dont go barmy and ask for about 20 !, as for the entertainment i though the reps did very well considering they do this 7 nights a week from april till october ,the kids always enjoyed the mini disco from 8 till 8.45-9 as for the comment about the rep claire she does look a bit intimidatin and loud but seemed a very nice girl.

impulse the resident group should be excellent the practice theve had ..been there some time but found some of the reps to have better voices than them, they should really choose there songs better, ie ones they can hit the notes on, every song is a lovely or nice song according to the female vocalist, i beg to differ. but they are doing there best and get it right now and again.

we had some great weather too hot in fact and on our last day a storm, which cooled us nicely, it is a very nice place and might return when kids a bit older.

We have just returned 17/7/04 from the bbe after 2 weeks holiday. We had a great time. This is a lovely part of the world - very relaxed. the hotel was very clean and the apartments were spacious. The food was excellent and the pool area was fabulous - although you did have to get up early to get an umbrella for some shade. There is plenty to do if you want, but no pressure if you don't - loads to do for the kids - soccer school and swimming lessons excellent. The entertainment team worked hard and most were very friendly. We will probably return again some time in the future.
