The hotel itself is obviously new and purpose built and is absolutely fantastic. Views to the North consisted of the gardens, pool and sea, reaching out to Albania, to the South, the mountains of Corfu and to the West, the Lagoon.

The rooms are clean, fresh and neutral in decoration. The added bonus was the fact that the room was split into two main areas with a living area incorporating a kitchen with dining table, 3 x sofa/beds and a TV. The adults in the party had their own bedroom which was a godsend. The balcony we had was spacious and had a wonderful view over the gardens, pool and across the sea to Albania. My only critisism being that the bathroom could have been a foot wider. The gardens were maintained to a high standard.

The hotel would benefit from a little more Greek culture and perhaps the introduction of multi-cultural guests to make you feel that you had actually left the UK!

We stayed at the Blue Bay resort for one week in June. It was beautifully situated, (maybe a little isolated for some) looking across to Albania.

The hotel was spotless with maids cleaning the apartment everyday (we never saw them!). The food was great, as all inclusive guests after a few days the drinks available for free became a little boring but there were bars nearby for a welcome change.

The football coaching was excellent, if a little expensive. The swim school seemed poorly organised but maybe she was having an off week as others have raved about her.

The evening entertainment was very poor with most reps appearing shy, silly and most of all talentless, however both our children (aged 6 and 4)appeared to enjoy them.

We will probably return..........

The hotel is fairly new (a couple of years old) and as we arrived, the staff greeted us and took our bags straight to our apartment. They even offered to make us a sandwich as the kitchen had closed for the night.

The hotel was spotlessly clean. Maids cleaned the apartments daily and even tried to do so whilst you were at breakfast or by the pool to minimise any disruption to you. Towels were changed daily, sheets every couple of days etc. There wasn't much in the way of crockery or cutlery but I am not sure if that was because we were all-inclusive. Perhaps the self-catering apartments had more in their cupboards than we did.

The restaurant was also spotlessly clean and there was a good choice of food for all tastes including the usual kiddies favourites of chips, sausages, chicken nuggets etc. for those that didn't fancy the numerous local food choices. There was a sign up asking for men to wear long trousers at Dinner. In a way, this was a nice touch as people seemed to dress up a bit every evening. Children and teens generally still wore shorts. Breakfast was the same, fairly wide, selection every day and offered a traditional Greek breakfast as well as a choice of cereals and English favourites. Lunch was a buffet by the pool and there was a good selection, catering for all tastes, once again. Snacks, drinks and ice-cream were available all day from the poolside so there was never a need to go hungry.

I had read about drinks being issued in plastic cups but was pleased to find that this was only by the pool-side. Glasses were used at the main hotel bar and free drinks were plentiful with Lowenbrau beer (which tasted a bit weak) preferred to the rather poor house wines.

There was plenty to do all day with a baby pool and bigger family pool, table tennis, pool tables etc. There were even organised activites e.g. quizzes, 5-a-side football (for adults as well as children), pool tournaments etc. I couldn't fault the Reps who seemed to have endless energy and enthusiasm for organising such events and were not in the least bit pushy for those who just wanted to be left alone. One day when it started to rain, they leapt into action and within minutes had organised a choice of activities for all ages in the dry, covered area by the pool.

My two children really enjoyed the kids club (Bugs Bunny and the Tweety Creche). The Reps there were all friendly, helpful and kept the younger kids well entertained. The facilities within the club were not that extensive but the Reps made good use of what they did have.

There was a shop just outside the main doors of the hotel and another, slightly cheaper one just down the drive. Both had a wide selection of British foods, sweets & daily papers. It was actually more difficult to find something Greek than it should have been which is obviously not everyone's ideal on a foreign holiday.

There was a car-hire salesman in the hotel lobby every day and he offered us the same deal as was available down the drive (which we were told was much cheaper) so it is certainly worth negotiating with him. The car was good quality and was only 30 or so Euros a day. We also tried the horse-riding he offered which my wife and father-in-law absolutely loved and would strongly recommend for all ages.

There is a hotel courtesy bus, which you can book places on at reception. Both towns offered were worth a visit for shopping & cafe/bars etc. The shops sell rather a lot of tat so try not to part with too much for that olive-wood bowl or snow-globe. A vast selection of counterfeit goods seemed to be available - so time you treated yourself to that Rolex.

If you head out of the back of the hotel, by the pool, you will find two lovely beaches. The one on the left is suitable for very young children as it is very sandy and has lovely blue shallow water. By both beaches are shops and tavernas in which we found staff to be friendly, helpful and the food was good too. There are also water based sports activities available for hire in between the two beaches. A little further down the road is a nature reserve with a large lagoon. This caused a few minor mosquito problems but we generally got away with it as it was fairly early in the summer. Prepare for worse if you are going late July or August.

Overall, we were very pleased with the holiday. The place was spotless, the staff were fantastic and the location was good. We would certainly go again without hesitation.

We arrived at 3am on 28th June and we reported into reception, the guy at reception seemed a bit stressed but you can't blame the guy concidering the time! The porters took our bags and delivered them to our room about 10 mins later.

The hotel was very clean and the italian leather seats in reception were very nice. Everything was spotless!

The food on offer was excellant, always a good choice, apart from their bolognese sauce isnt quite as nice as ours, a bit dry!

The kids menu was very good and I saw numerous adults tucking into it!
The waiters were always asking if you wanted anything to drink and they were very fast to clean your dishes away. One waitress though, mousey coloured hair and blue eye shadow was a bit blunt though and she never looked happy! must admit, none of the women at the hotel who worked there looked very happy! but the service was excellant.

The only complaint I had was they put too much ice in the plastic cups and you dont get enough drink in due to it!
The kebabs were very nice and the food at lunch time was excellent, they never ran low on anything!! Can't complain about food what so ever!!

The pool was closed 3 times due to ignorant people not putting swim nappies on their babies! So you can imagine what was floating in the pool, and then it had to be closed for 24hrs whilst it was cleaned!

Johnie the swim instructor was excellent, except the lessons werent long enough and she had to struggle to get the kids out of the shallow end so she could corner it off for the lessons. And we were a bit annoyed that some of my sons lessons were cancelled due to the pool being closed. and we werent offered any refund.

You had to fight for a lounger and I had to get up at 6:30am to get one! Once
I slept in till 7am and there were none left! I'm shattered!!

Due to it being a family resort you get noisy neighbours, the ones above us must have being trying to conceive, because they were at it all the time, so if you were above room 2101 you know who you are!!

And the people next door argued like cat and dog! But other wise we enjoyed our stay, just a little bored due to there not being enough to do.

Snacks arent included at the main bar at night time, its 1.50 for a packet of crisps!

The Blue Bay Resort, wow what can we say utterly fantastic. Our only regret is we only booked for one week.

All the staff are very helpful, we had a small problem with the water flow in the shower after reporting it to the front desk it was sorted within half an hour.

The scenery was spectacular from our apartment from the entrance we had a view of the mountains, and from the balcony we had a view of the ocean.

The pool was beautiful but the water was very cold.

There was a lovely sea breeze blowing through but because of all the steps it was quite hard going but there was disabled access throughout the complex.

It was very clean and very well laid out and the James Bond theme worked very well.

Restaurant was exceptional with a wide range of dishes to suit all tastes the chef was always helpful and happy to please.

The only drawback to the resort was the entertainment, if you can call it that, the reps did their best but it was very butlins redcoat style. The best night

This resort was absolutely beautiful in every way. I could not fault a thing from the moment that we arrived at the entrance until we departed.

The apartments were very spacious and spotless, bed linen and towels changed daily if required. Bring a bath plug from home if you want to soak in the tub as none were there. The beds were not very comfortable but that was my opinion, we had twin beds but were told once there that you could have ordered a double. Views in every direction were breathtaking.

The staff were all so friendly and very helpful. Nothing was too much trouble.

We went all inclusive (I wouldn

After hearing very bad reports on the BBE, we were very concerned but needn't have been.

We thought the hotel/ grounds/ rooms etc. were extremely clean, very pretty, and spacious.

All the staff from cleaners to management were friendly and helpful.

We booked self catering and upgraded to all inclusive at the hotel which costs 33 euros per day per over 12yrs,(under 12yrs free) Which included food and drink from 7.30am-1.00am and ice cream 10.00am - 6pm and alcohol 10am - 1.00am The food was great but the choice of alcohol was limited unless you paid extra. Really cannot fault the complex.

The only drawback was the evening entertainment, the reps gave 100% but were very limited by what they are allowed to do due the ever growing sue if you stub your toe brigade!!

Small children loved it but it did get a bit boring for my kids who are 11 & 13.

Just wanted to add, the location is a bit of a double edged sword as it was right on the beach with fantastic views, but very little else. There are a couple of shops and restaurants but that's it. Make use of the free bus service to neighbouring towns.

We found the cheapest shop even off the complex was out of the hotel main entrance and down a hill to the road turn left and there

We arrived back Friday (20th) after 2 weeks at BBE. Only a few niggles, first being the wrist bands were put on so tightly they dug into us all, so next day we removed them, we told the rep why and noticed quite a few people had removed theirs. But we kept them with us at all times for using the restaurant.

We were self catering, which would have been difficult to cook as you only get a frying pan and a saucepan,(slight niggle if you wanted to cook)but we ate out a lot.

Good well stocked shop on complex. Mix up with apartment, we thought we were getting a 1 bed, but got a studio, but upgraded after 2 days and saw rep about it who arranged the upgrade.

BBE is absolutely beautiful, apartments immaculate, lovely staff, food in BBE restaurant is great, you can upgrade all day or just for certain meals and pay after you have eaten.

The beach is brilliant, you can hire sunbeds and brollies. We didn't go to the pool bar so can't comment on entertainment, but from the sound of the children laughing I would say it was good!! Hire a car and get out and about, or you probably will be bored in the complex everyday, the same thing every day for 2 weeks would bore anyone!

Some lovely tavernas within walking distance, one right near the beach and another out the main gates past the car hire shop (bargain at 25 euros a day for a small car!!) and supermarket, also good, carry on a short way to Kourbouris tavern, lovely food, lovely people. Thats our opinion, but everyone is different, we loved it and will definitely go back!!!
