Stayed in 2 bedroom apartment on a self catering basis.

We had to wear wristbands to signify whether all inclusive or self catering. Couldn't really see the point of this if self catering as surely if you don't have a wristband on you don't get served! Wristbands became very annoying after a while.

Glad we did not go all inclusive as those that were seemed to be eating the same food each day..hot dogs, pizza, fish fingers and chips. Quite entertaining to see people grow before your eyes though!

Apartment lovely and big with two bathrooms. Could have provided more utensils for cooking and a sink plug would have been useful!

Lovely pool in lovely clean well kept surroundings. Beautiful views across to Albania.

Kids club first class and great football and basketball areas.

A haven for mozzies so sprays and creams are essential. Wasps around the pool a pain to begin with but if ignored they tend to go away and not bother so much.

Weather hit and miss but all in all we had a lovely time and didn't really want to leave.

We arrived at the Blue Bay around 4am we were checked in very quickly and our luggage was taken to our room for us.

Our room was immaculate and the friendly maids cleaned daily, the whole resort was immaculate. The rooms were spacious had air con which was fantastic but did lack cups and glasses etc but when we requested some dishes they were brought to our room within an hour.

The staff are very helpful and friendly. Our 2yr old soon got stung by a wasp the maid in the room at the time was trying her best to help calm our son down and then called over another worker who offered to get a doctor or some cream it was very touching as they did seem to be genuinely concerned.

The kids clubs were great and the kids could go as many times as they liked the reps were great always cheery and made the whole family get involved in activities at mini disco they get all the family up dancing(our kids are still dancing now).

The entertainment team were also great we had our 14 yr cousin with us and she was always off playing volleyball or water polo. Evening entertainment was ok it was aimed mostly at the kids which was fine with us as long as they were happy I think you just have laugh and go along with it.

The only thing we have to moan about is the wasps! They were out in force during the day around the pool bar and you could not take a drink or food to your sunlounger as the wasps would follow you.

The beach was nice quieter than the pool area and very clean.

If you plan on going on any trips book with Tanjas (turn left out of the gate its next to the shop)she is very friendly and much cheaper than First Choice.

The food was plentiful but a little repetitive we would of liked to have had more traditional Greek food (but you cant please everyone) saying that there is a choice of 4 different meals each evening which looked and tasted great plenty of kids choices too.

We really enjoyed our holiday and plan to return soon Blue-bay is must for families with children looking for a great holiday. Well done First Choice.

We were staying at the Blue Bay Escape resort in Corfu. We found the hotel to be remiscent of Holloway than Hellas, more like an English council estate than a 4 star hotel, with the added attractions of mosquitoes flies and dead rats.

The staff were, at best, surly; the food was mundane. Things were so bad that we actually had to check into another hotel on a decent part of the island for a couple of days. The only saving grace was the car that we hired.

If I'd had to stay at this poxy resort for any more than one day without a break, I'm sure that I would have topped myself.

I have just returned from the Blue Bay Escape Hotel this week.

I travelled with my husband, 16 year old son and two younger daughters. We went for a week which was long enough, as the hotel is pretty remote and if you want to see a bit of Corfu, you have to get away from the area and go on one of the organised trips or hire a car. I didn't fancy hiring a car much as the mountain roads you have to travel through to get to the hotel are absolutely hair raising. Anyone with a nervous disposition watch out, the Greek coach drivers must be really confident to drive those 50 seater coaches around those hairpin bends.

As for the hotel itself, I can only say it was absolutely fantastic.

The food was out of this world and just kept coming all day. Be prepared to gain at least half a stone when visiting this hotel.

I have never seen staff work so hard as those at this hotel. They were constantly cleaning, rushing round collecting crockery and glasses and serving drinks and food all day long - and always with a smile on their faces. I think a few English people would benefit from learning the Greek way of working hard. I was amazed by them.

The entertainment staff were really friendly and did everything they could to make you feel welcome. I joined in with the Aquafit, quiz sessions and bingo and thoroughly enjoyed it. The kids disco and Karaoke sessions were a great laugh and we all found ourselves singing along. My two daughters had a great time and made friends with some other kids. My 16 year old could have got bored if we had stayed any longer than a week.

We went on a couple of trips, one to Aqualand and a boat trip to a paradise beach with a barbecue. They were great days out, but expensive.

All in all it was a really good holiday, and well worth the all-inclusive price.

The hotel itself, although a little remote, was spotlessly clean and situated in a very scenic area. We hired a car for 4 days from Tanja's round the corner of the hotel which was much cheaper then booking through the reps (as were the day trips). We went to the Achellion Palace (worth a visit) and did the Calypso glass bottom boat cruise in Corfu town(holiday highlight and well worth every euro).

Paleokastritsa was worth a visit as was Sidari and the top of Pantocrator (excuse spelling). We also took the evening cruise to Corfu town which was great fun. For spectacular scenery and views visit the west coast. All in all driving was OK as long as you do it at your own pace and ignore the greek drivers who beep there horns at every possible opportunity.

Food was varied every night with something for everyone. The staff at the hotel were very helpful and hard working. Daytime snacks are great, particularly for the kids.

Entertainment at night was comparable with previous holidays and daytime activities were excellent.

The only other points would be to do bingo alternate nights rather than every night as it gets a bit tedious.

Also the beds...we ended up moving one mattress onto the floor of the room from the bed settee as every time you moved it creaked to the point where it would wake you up. The little plastic cups they use are also a pain with frequent trips for multiple top ups required. Don't forget your mosquito repellent ! We were fine up until day 12 when the humidity went up and the wind dropped, we were then eaten alive !

Despite some of these points we all had a great holiday and would recommend this hotel to anyone.

What a great reception area!

The two single beds were a bit creaky which did keep the teenager on the edge of sleep occasionally.

The hotel staff were excellent and very hardworking.

The rooms were kept immaculate and the food and service were the best we have experienced in a long time. A teabag or coffee sachet in the room for late night arrivals would have been a much appreciated.

What a fantastic location the views were stunning. The resort was spotless and remained that way all holiday thanks to the staff who worked tirelessly.

Visit Tanja's Travel(out the beach entrance and turn left)for excursion bookings and local history and information. Very helpful lady! Try the Pirates boat trip to Corfu and the glass bottom boat trip!

Kassiopi is nearby and worth a trip but book your seat on the mini bus well in advance.

We booked a car with the man in the hotel reception. He was excellent with a reasonable car hire fee including fuel he also marked points of interest on a map which kept us busy all day.

The beach to the left was great, shallow for a long way out so children got the full benefit. The beach to the right had a seaweed issue which they cleared everyday but it meant it was very quiet - excellent if you have a book you want to finish or 40 winks you need to catch up on!

A plug in mozzie buster is definitely the way to go, it kept us pretty much bite free till the last night when we were eaten alive by the top pool table whilst waiting for the coach home.

We had really mixed feelings about the hotel so we'll start with the positives, the location in terms of views and beach was excellent.

The cleanliness around the place was very good. Some of the staff were excellent and when the power went for most of one day they coped exceptionally well. The food was alright we didn't go hungry and neither did the kids, there was some form of food available somewhere virtually right throughout the day.

The beach was lovely you do have to pay for loungers but only 8 euro for a parasol and 2 sunbeds. A couple of very nice bars near the beach, lovely cocktails for adults an kids at valentinos plus entertainment, film, greek night etc most nights and good food at the lagoon if you fancy a change.

Tanjas travel was excellent much better prices for trips than the tour operator and cheaper car hire, Tanja herself was exceptionally helpful giving us tips on where to go with the car etc.

OK so now for the more negative bit (in our humble opinion) the entertainment was absolutely appalling if you want something more than killer pool in the day and bingo in the evening then go somewhere else, considering that there was a whole team dedicated to entertainment we struggled to beleive that they couldn't come up with something better than the nightly round of bingo, open the box then either show tunes or karaoke (there was Greek dancing one night a week).

The shuttle bus is of course an option for getting out of there but only runs about 3 times per day and allows you around 2 hours in kassiopi the service that you go out on dictates which one you have to come back on, also they get very booked up we only actually managed to get booked onto it once.

The pool - if you are happy to get up at the crack of dawn to ensure getting a lounger with a parasol then fine also if you like being packed around the pool like sardines and being unable to move your sunlounger in order to get into/out of the sun then you will be fine, if not I would suggest you go to the beach as we did.

Although we have said that the food was alright and we never went hungry I don't think that the food was anything special, we are quite happy to try new things so that wasn't the problem but there wasn't a huge amount of choice and it did get a bit samey.

The reason that we wouldn't go back here is that it clearly wasn't our sort of hotel and we didn't feel that the all inclusive represented particularly good value for money as we ended up spending a fortune on eating out, taxis to and from Kassiopi and renting sunloungers on the beach.

Just one more thing the bar staff appear to totally ignore children waiting for drinks in the evening and serve only the adults, so I would suggest an adult go with any children if you don't want them to end up waiting at the bar for ages.

Despite all the negatives we had a great holiday but I think that was because we spent much of our time escaping from the Blue Bay escape!

Our apartment was 2 bedded with 2 beds in the living room. It was lovely and spacious and it had an en-suite off the double room. We had a balcony with french doors coming from every room (exept bathrooms.)

Every room also had air-conditioning which was built in on the wall and was lovely on a warm evening for before our tea.

The maids were lovely and friendly my child had an ear infection and we didn't no what to do with the medicine and she told us to put it in the fridge we weren't sure but later the doctor told us to put it in the fridge. Another time one of my children was crying and she hugged her and was so kind. We thought she was so kind we left her a tip for 5 euros.

The entertainment was fine but as we went for two weeks we saw some shows twice as it's once a week for each show.

The beach is so close and clean we ended going there loads and the children went crabbing and once the waves were huge and the children played in them for hours. Near the beach was a shop and we bought 2 beach mats and a parasol for a great price.

Despite one or two negatives, which you always get with a holiday, we really enjoyed our stay here. Upon arrival the reception staff were really friendly, making a great fuss of our two young children.

The room was spacious, clean and well equipped. In fact the whole resort was kept absolutely spotless the whole time we were there.

The views fantastic and the grounds to the complex were extremely well maintained. (It seemed like the grass was being cut daily)

We were very disappointed with the food and ended up eating out almost every night towards the end of our holiday. The quality was ok it unfortunately appeared to be the same thing every evening and especially lunchtime by the pool. Again the kids loved it and never went hungry.

The snack bar was popular with my son and my respect goes out to the lady behind the counter. She never stopped all day.
