Just returned from the Blue Bay.

Well where do I start....

Paid extra to get a nice time flight 08:55 in the morning so we could arrive in the afternoon, in-time for dinner, etc. Eventually, took off at 16:30. Problem with the aircraft and had to get another one from Manchester. Knew it was not a good start and unfortunately, it didn't get much better.

Was a bit shocked at the room, very basic and definitely not a 4* resort. Beds were very noisy and the sheets seem to be too small for the bed. I don't think they swept or cleaned our floors in the apartment for the whole two weeks.

The entertainment was terrible, although they tried I think they were a bit too young and they definitely did not have any entertainment background, and it showed.

My two girls are 12 and they were bored stiff, if you have little ones it's the perfect place and they would be in the heart of glory, you would probably never see them.

I think they try with the food but it doesn't change much and we were sick of it by the end of the holiday, my kids are never eating chips or hotdogs again!!

They definitely need more entertainment for the adults throughout the day, maybe darts, shooting, things like that.

What can I say about the "mozzies"....terrible. We got through 5 bottles of mozzie spray and also mozzie candles on your table in the evenings. One of my daughters got bit 17 times in one night, even with the spray on, I'm still covered now I'm back in the UK and still very sore. Some people were very, very bad and in the little children were covered.

Sorry to say, it wasn't the best holiday we have had and we will definitely not go back to the Blue Bay or Corfu.

Sorry !!

I would recommend all inclusive I put on half a stone in two weeks.

The food was outstanding and so much choice. The rooms were basic which is usual for the greek islands but were very clean. All the hotel staff were freindly and could not do enough for you.

The entertainment was a bit repetitive after two weeks but the kids enjoyed it which was the main thing.

We had a brilliant holiday and cant wait to go back, even though we all got bit by the mossies it was not enought to put us off of a return visit.

We have just arrived back from two glorious weeks at the Blue Bay Escape. When you arrive at the hotel, whatever time as the reception is obliviously 24 hours, you are given your room key and are given a tag to wear on your arm, blue for all inclusive and red for self-catering. The hotel looks after your passports during your stay.

The rooms are simple but more than enough especially if you are all inclusive, they are more than enough utensils even if you are self catering as we were.

There is a very nice air conditioning unit, which is heaven after a hot day out. The maids come in daily and clean the room, give you new towels etc. Beds are changed every 3 days.

The food at the hotel is fantastic. They cater for all sorts of appetites too, there are traditional Greek dishes at the buffet or more typically 'English' food. All the food is of top quality.

The hotel is situated in a rather remote part of Corfu; there are two or three taverna

Atrocious!

Maids were unhelpful always staring and making my 15 yr old daughter feel very victimized.

My son felt very left out in the games that they played in the daytime. The only nice entertainer was Lexy and she included my son into a game of volleyball.

Food was ok I guess but the restaurant manager kept looking at our plates to see if we had eaten all our food and the rules are very strict.

The hotel cleaning was poor, I lost my nose ring in the bathroom on my 2nd day there and on my 11th day I found it again lying on the floor, which tells you the maid did not clean properly.

This was our second family holiday (kids aged 5 & 10)

Good points:
Breakfast and evening food was plentiful and varied Breakfast was in English with Greek yogurts, chesses, fruit and cakes complimenting the egg & bacon. Evening meals did get a bit boring by the second week; there was also a kids menu.

Lunch was great and was served by the pool, plenty of choice including kebabs and melon.

The pool is safe and clean. The water is from the sea and seems to take longer to warm up than the chloride type also as the water tastes salty this might not suit everybody but this did not bother my kids.

The views of the Albanian mountains from the hotel are fantastic

Ok points:

Evening entertainment is of the usual mini-disco followed by bingo and ending with the on site team which is usually disco, karaoke or themed musical (which was not bad).

Alcohol is served by the pool in plastic cups which does not bother me and given enough you will get tipsy, the choice on offer is not great.

The rooms are clean and reasonably spacious.

The on-site teams were active and visible

Bad points:
The beach I personally found poor, it is sandy but is very small and not very tidy, the sea however is shallow and safe for the little ones.
Other than the hotel there is not much else, the town consists of 3 bars, 2 restaurants and 2 supermarkets.

Corfu airport: small crowded and delays.
Mosquitoes are well documented in this hotel but other than one night I did not find it a problem. Most of the guests pile their tables with mozie candles which given the amount looks like they are warding off vampires.

We all had a great time at the Blue Bay and are glad we booked.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone with a young family, not for couples.

Lovely clean and large apartment. Was self catering so didn't eat in hotel.

staff helpful and friendly, entertainment ok.

Little bit too far from everywhere else, would have liked to be able to walk to another resort.

Would recommend hotel.
Courtesy bus goes to other resorts from hotel.

Having read reports on wasps and mosquitoes being a problem in the resort we went armed with sprays plug ins etc, and I did not get bitten once and thats a first. I only saw two wasps and I have seen far worse in other countries! So no need to be alarmed.

The staff were by far the friendliest I have ever experienced in Europe. They smiled and could not do enough for you. Considering how hard they work I have nothing but admiration for them, and the management team especially the resteraunt manager was always on hand at all meals, and indeed never left till late. He is running a very efficient service excellent.

The food was out of this world considering they have to appeal to all tastes, I should know I am a chef. The complaints made about the food must be from persons not willing to experience another culture, and they could be seen with their nuggets and chips.I think they have every reason to be proud of their achievments.

Cleanliness was excellent again 5 star well done cleaning staff I saw you early in the morning buzzing around. Garden staff again a pat on the back your tireless enthusiasm.

The rooms were good compared to what I have had in the past. They were a good size and the balconies were also good sized.

The resort was beautiful, I must say that not many English people were on the beach and they missed out because the sea was lovely to swim in. Met some great Greek folks on beach.

My partner and I went for a break on our own. Having read before hand about the entertainment I was a bit aprehensive. No need to be whilst it is geared to children, and why not! It was no where near as bad as I had expected the bar at the top was peaceful and we made our own entertainment, and visited the bars along the by the sea. Staff were lovely and it made a change. We did spend time down in pool bar in the evening and it was nice to see familys enjoying themselves together. I shall certainly return with my children. Not a lot for teenagers I can see my 18 year old saying Im Bored, however she would have gone further a field.

The only um about the holiday was hiring a car we nearly came back divorced!!! I drove and I can tell you not enjoyable driving round those mountains. The Greek peep their hooter all the time not sure why! But it was hairraising I never realised my partner had such a repetoire of foul language! Ha he hated it thought he was lucky to be alive.

To anyone visiting the resort. Enjoy it is fantasic!

We booked this holiday 8 days before departure and having read the reviews I was a little apprehensive, mozzies, entertainment, location etc. Driving to the resort I was terrified as we dropped off other holiday makers to what can only be described as hotels down dirt tracks, visions of the worst coming last. My fears were put to rest as we entered the most magnificent entrance lobby and friendly welcoming staff.

I had forgotten my suitcase key and had visions of hours nay days before I could get it open, however within 10 minuets the maintenance man was on hand to open it, excellent service.

The food was very good, breakfast was more than you could eat and the lovely girl who worked in the snack bar next to the pool worked tirelessly to provide pizzas, hotdogs, toasties ice cream all day long always with a smile.

The evening entertainment was ok if you enjoy Bingo and a 'working mens club' environment, not for us but many seemed to enjoy it.

I would certainly recommend this hotel it is in a stunning location, not if you enjoy a walk around the shops in the evening, but scenery etc.

If you want to go sightseeing book with Tanya travel, out of hotel and to the left facing the sea.

I travelled with my 3 children all teenagers and they had a ball.

The hotel is in a secluded place but the beaches were lovely and the couple of shops were stocked with everything you could need while away.

The hotel staff were all friendly we had a problem 1 night with air con but it was sorted very quickly.

The food I thought was very good not to everyone

We stayed at the BBE in July, we thought the hotel was excellent.

The hotel and rooms were always clean and the maids were all very nice and friendly.

The food was great,it was nice to try different food makes a change from what we normally eat when where at home. I wish the sausages were a little bigger but they were nice. The snack bar was mint. We loved the pizza's and hotdogs.

We took 2 pizza's each when we were leaving so we had something to eat at the airport. We never went hungry and started our diets as soon as we got back as we must of put on about 2 stone in weight.

For a family resort the location was good. It's safe and not near any clubs or pubs, just a couple of bars by the beach. so you know you will get some peace and quite and a good nights sleep.

The hotel staff were very good, I would like to thank Kostas from reception for looking after our friend when she was very drunk. Leo and George from behind the main bar were really funny and entertained everyone.

The resturant staff work really hard and we couldn't fault them in anyway. They are always on the go and you just want to ask them to sit down and relax for 5 mins.
Such freindly people, we had our photos taken with some of them and they seemed really happy that you wanted photos with them.

The entertainment was good. It could be better. We enjoyed because you can see how hard they all work so even if its a bit dull and boring it doesn't matter because they enjoy it and that comes across as they entertain which made us happy.

DJ Sam was great kept everyone going with his disco's and fun and games that he did. all the staff are amazing and we couldn't of asked for a better group of people to of helped us enjoy our holiday. thank you to all the staff at bbe and all the first choice staff

Would we go again???? - We have already booked up for this Sept!
