Good resort. Excellent beaches and very quiet with little formal nightlife.

The resort has a nice feel to it.There are several bars and tavernas all with a nice laid back atmosphere.The agustera bar been our particular favourite.The BEACHES ARE AS GOOD AS ANYWHERE IN GREECE.Jump on the local bus(an experience in itself)to either drop off at other resorts or head for Skiathos town ,especaily at night.Skiathos town at night is brill.

Koukounaries is one of the best resorts on the island if your looking for a quiet relaxing holiday.
There are 5 beaches within walking distance. Easy access to the local bus servise which runs between Koukonaries and Skiathos town so theres no problem getting around.
There are 2 supermarkets and a car hire place. several tavernas and if you fancy a change a chinese restaurant and a few bars to settle in for a relaxing evening drink.

It's in a quiet location and although there are about 6-8 tavernas in Koukounaries, there isn't much going on in the way of nightlife - fine if you're looking for a very relaxing chilled out break in a countryside setting.
The bus to Skiathos town leaves every 30 mins - journey time is about 40 minutes and being in Koukounaries means you always get a seat- by the time the bus gets to Troulos it's jam packed.

koukanaries , lovely beach. great snorkeling. good hygeine facilities on beach compared with other resorts we have visited in greece. tavernas all excellent.slightly more expensive than thassos /rhodes but very good quality. not one bad meal all holiday. bus service excellent.
