9 of us have just returned from a two week holiday staying at the Marina Dourada, we all agreed it was the best hotel in the baga area.

Breakfast was basic tea and toast, eggs etc. Food was bland and over cooked in the hotel. Good places to eat were kennys, all spice, spice oven, jungle garden, soumo kitchen, flames, all just a short ride away plenty of cheap taxis outside of hotel.

Hotel clean, good pools, good bar staff, did not see entertainment as out every night. We would all visit this hotel again.

Hotel was clean with fresh towels daily
Staff were amazing especially those at the bars and they couldn't do enough for you
Plenty of sunbeds and free lounger towels

The food wasn't the best only had breakfast once, but there are loads of amazing and cheap food places around so you won't go hungry.

We stayed at The Marinha Dourada a few times , the last time being nine years ago , and we had very warm and fond memories of a clean and friendly hotel .

It is now much bigger and is very impressively done , however , the buildings and rooms are in dire need of some refurbishment & updating .
The prices of food and drink ( in particularly ) have now reached the point where they are without any justification , being around 50% higher than the average in the locality .
Yes , even at these prices it is cheap , however , other than the setting you are getting nothing more than any other establishment has to offer and in some cases much less !! .

Finally , food hygiene , this is clearly not a priority at this hotel and I would advise extreme caution if eating here .
Anyone who has had breakfast here will have witnessed one particular member of staff who likes to shuffle the bread and refresh the cornflakes with his bare hands .

Overall impression now ?? , World class setting , third World behaviours .

the hotel is in serious need of updating the rooms are dark and dismal some rooms in annexe have windows blacked out so you cant see the massive building work about 10ft away but you can certainly hear it the braekfast is rubbish if you want to join the hundreds of others in the birdcage for no more than eggs and toast no one eats at the hotel as this is rubbish

this hotel is in the middle of a huge rubbish dump and building site the rooms are dark and dingy if you get a room in the annexe take your walking boots its that far away from the hotel the breakfast is horrible and overcrowded and served in what can be described as a birdcage the food in the hotel is awful mush i you walk outside at night you have a good chance of being robbed or mugged do your self a favour dont go

We stayed for three weeks feb./march 2008 and found the holiday to be perfect in every way.The staff were helpful, couteous and always smiling.Breakfast is better than most goan hotels and the "bird cage" was never crowded when we were there. We had a lovely room at the side of the bottom pool with plenty of room and immaculately clean. We certainly were never disturbed by building work and as to muggings we walked to Arpora every day and never saw or heard of any muggings,in fact the Goan people were unfailingly friendly. The plentiful supply of taxis do not attempt tp "rip you off" as they work from a printed tariff sheet. In conclusion we had a wonderful holiday in a very nice hotel in a beautiful part of Goa and are going back again.

We stayed at the Marinha Dourada from 14 to 28 Dec it was our second time there and still love it.

The towels are changed daily and rooms cleaned the boys always come back to clean the room when you go out. The gardens are kept immaculate and pools also. There are two pools and always plenty of sunbeds.

The lakes are lovely with fish jumping out some are massive,we saw lots of birds there were two eagles flying round ,bright orange with white heads, very impressive.

There is building work behind but it isn
