Went there on 29/07/03 wanted home next day.

Hotel pool is open to the public so at the weekend you need to be up early to get a sunbed as for the pool don't try and swim or you might end up with someone landing on your head.

Kids entertainment is a joke, kids disco advertised which ended up being music played and nothing else which I would call background music.

The rooms were also a joke, we asked for a room for 2 adults and 2 kids ended up with a room big enough for 2 adults and 0 kids. We also had wires hanging down at the back of the beds.

A lot of the facilities that were advertised in the brochure were not open which I think is a disgrace as it was the height of the season.

MY BEST ADVICE TO ANYONE GOING IS JUST DON'T GO

am soo glad that I looked up this hotel on Holiday Truths last year - I contacted my travel agent and requested a room either high up or with a poolside view. The hotel is smack bang in the middle of some excellent nightlife with a fantastic array of bars, cafes, restaurants, pubs and nightclubs in the resort and further affield. We got to the Hotel at about 2.30 on a Wednesday morning (in mid October) and the bars around the entrance of the hotel were still going strong. If you're not one for a lively night out - don't forget your earplugs!! Having read some of the reports on St George's here last year I was pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness of the reception, and the fact that the lifts were all working. What I hadn't banked on was the fact that all the carpeted walls of the lifts were covered in vomit stains (urgh). We had a room on the top floor, pushed our twin beds together and got some sleep. Upon waking the room was pretty sparse but boy oh boy was it dirty! I was wanting to switch rooms there and then, but the view from our massive balcony overlooking the pool and Bay was lovely. So off to the Hotel supermarket for a bottle of bleach and some dusters !!! Hey presto - much lovlier room!

Must say that the maid service was daily and all staff I met were always very courteous, helpful and would bend over backwards to help. We went self catering, good job as we had breakfast at the Hotel once - not recommended! Try the Blackbull Pub for a great English fry up! Eating out around the resort was cheap and catered for all culinary tastes.

Don't be put off at first impressions, the Island of Malta is beautiful and the locals were unbelieveably lovely. I wouldn't return to this particular Hotel, but I'm already looking forward to my return trip in July.

Anybody needing more specific information regarding the Hotel, or places to go around town... just get in touch!
Cheers

Staying at this place is enough to put you off ever staying at a 3 star complex again. Being basic is one thing, but being dirty is another. Were not told that part of the complex is actually built on top of the night clubs when we booked, and we did say we wanted a quiet holiday!
The food on the complex I have to say was terrible, and on occasions totally in-edible. Every little thing came as an extra and had to be paid for.. including a remote for the TV. Most staff did their best to assist, others just didn't give a damn.
Shame really because the complex on the whole has great potential... it just needs a management team who know how to organise. Will definitely not be returning.

well i went here in 1999. it was the hotel situated next to hotel la velletta. It was the best holiday i have ever had in my life! The reps for the company and for the kids were excellent. The entertainment put on here by the hotel was @#%$ but the kids rep made the holiday! Things might have changed by now but i had a great time anyway!

Food wasn't too bad though could do with better choice for kids. Fairly clean in our apartment though I can sympathise with those who felt it dirty, it could be pool-side. On the whole staff were good though they sometimes took too long to assist. Well-situated though too near the discos, it says in the brochures near Paceville but that's a lie - it backs on to the Discos so incredibly noisy until after 4.

I agree with all the other comments, the place was a dump and my heart sank when I realised I would have to spend two very long weeks in a cramped filthy room. Its right next to the night life so forget any sleep until 4am, needless to say its the worst holiday I have ever been on and I have been to countless countries in my travels both working and on holidays. AVOID IT AT ALL COSTS, I KNOW ITS CHEAP BUT PAY A LITTLE EXTRA AND GO ELSEWHERE.!

stayed at the sister hotel La Valette in June this year. I must say firstly that we were self catering and from the comments of other guests that were half board I am so grateful!

The room we were first allocated had a broken door, the safe inside the room ahd obviously been broken into at some point because written in RED INK was the word 'sucka'. After an argument with both the housekeeper and management we were given another room. Very basic but DIRTY!

The pool area was filthy, and in the 2 weeks we were there never once was it cleaned out!

The hotel allowed the local people to hire the pool area for private parties, weddings etc., so by 3pm the pool area was partitioned off. The area was never cleaned after use and on numerous occasions we found broken glass. The pool man was exceptionally rude! very abrupt and if you didnt hire a mattress or umbrella he was very indignant.

Malta is such a pretty place to visit, but Gozo is better.

St Julians is the hustle and bustle area of the island, very popular with locals. Especially the young! We were out there for the world cup and even though there were qwuite a few europeans we never saw any trouble. I would suggest you go elsewhere on the island for a better holiday!

This is a truly appalling hotel. The staff were abrupt, unhelpful, and reluctant to accept responsibility for dirty surroundings. On our first day, the rooms were not ready and we spent some time by the pool. We noticed that one table was caked in used (unused) food. We decided not to inform the staff and monitor the situation ourselves. When we left two weeks later, the table had not been cleaned. Needless to say this was not a one-off. The pool had black mould round the side of it and little attempt was made to clean it. We ordered a bottle of wine with our evening meal and it tasted of chlorine (I wonder where they cooled the bottles!!). The food was worse than any served up at school dinners and we ended up eating out most nights even though we had booked for half board. On one side of the hotel the rooms are extremely noisy, I suppose you only notice it if you are not clubbing. The plus point is the maltese people themselves, who are very warm and welcoming.

What a wicked hotel. Right by the nightlife although still far enough away to have some peace and quiet. (If you get a pool view room). This is the second visit for me and I would definitely go a third. Probably not a hotel for children though.

We Had Two Weeks Here In 1999, Never Ever Again, The Place Is A Cess Pit, Awful Food, Filthy Cutlery And Crockery, Filthy Room, Disgusting Pool Area, I Would Not Recommend This Hotel, The Area Of St. Julians On The Other Hand Was Pleasant Although A Little Noisy And Lively, Tel.
