The Hotel was great i would definatly go back when im older the entertainment team and staff were lovley and i would give the hotel 10 out of 10 for the best holiday ever!

Had a wonderful time at this hotel - complex, we were 2 x families of 4 and a grandad and granma. It exceeded all our expectations, after reading other comments. Food was excellent, we prefered the buffet rest. to the other al la cart, but these were also very good, but everyone to their own. Loads of choice, chicken, beef, steak, fish, always hot and some cooked infront of you. Lots of starter, salad, desert choices and tasty. plenty to choose from.
Rooms were very spacious the biggest we have been in, very clean, our maid was in everyday and my daughter loved the towel animals she used to leave. Not much draw space but loads of hanging and shelves. Our mini bar was stocked regularly and once we phoned up to have it re-stocked and they were the with in 3 minutes literally. Shower, basins and wc spotless.
The pool areas were very clean, the pools themselves were also. We spent most of our time around the pools, went to the beach twice, it is very clean and relaxing,there are rocks in the sea beside the beach, we had beach shoes which were excellent, but if you go 10 - 15 mins along the beach to the left there are no rocks.
All the bars are great, pool, piano etc, any drink you want including international brands just ask for them and you get them.
We tipped some of the time when we got extra good service, because all the service is good, all the staff are friendly and polite. Our tips were usually 1 - 2 dollars.
Location was ok for us, we went to playa del carmen on the complimentary bus twice and it was about 15 mins. We did the galleon trip which was good and wish we upgraded to the lobster, jet skis are great.
We will definately be coming back to this hotel in a few years time, and i would recommend it to anybody.

Well, I have been and now I have returned.
I thought the hotel was great myself and I am quite fussy! The food was delicious and there is a great selection every day - usually including chicken and beef/pork plus some seafoods too (no upset tummies at all!). The facilities were all open; the spa is lovely, I recommend the massage ha ha... the pool was fine although a little slippery some days, the beach is clean and beautiful, the staff are very friendly, happy to please and generally great, the rooms were lovely and spacious (although we were put in a block quite a way away from everything but the excercise was good and it was very peaceful). Any problem we had (and they were very minor things; fridge not stocked and problem with aircon) were fixed straight away.
We had a very bad thunder and lightning storm one evening about 5 days before we were due to return home whereby the whole site lost all power. I felt very sorry for the staff in the restaurants as they had no means to cook or keep food warm for 1000+ guests... they did though and we all had hot food (by way of small bunsen type heaters!). The power came back on a few hours later. The next day my parents woke to an awful smell in their room... we spoke to reception who changed their room straight away.
We could not praise the staff enough they are all so eager to please and the entertainment team were fabulous!!

I don't know how I found this site but I am compelled to answer! Here's the deal:
We went in March right after re-opening and there were problems but we still had a blast. There were some room issues but I imagine they are ironed out now.
Food is fine, typical all-inclusive fare. Beach is fine not that rocky so don't worry. Staff and bar....awesome.
You will have a good time if you relax, tip the bartenders and have some cervezas. We went at the worst possible time right after reopening and a 18 hour flight delay and still had a great time, so if you are going you can to! We are going back next week as compensation due to the plane delay.
