The resort all in all was excellent there is so much to do all the time, there is no rubbish on the streets what so ever.
The beach is beautiful, the water is crystal clear, there is no rubbish and the water is not cold. The only problem with the beach is that there are many jelly-fish.

It's a very busy, very English resort. If you like drinking all night then it's ideal.

Escana is a lovely family resort with enough cafes and bars to suit everyone varied entertainment with a couple of night clubs.
The beach is lovely although you do get a bit of seaweed from time to time this does not affect swimming.

I went out walking quite early in the morning and it was what I never saw was rubbish lying about and that was around 7am.
We went to a few bars just for some drinks with the children didn't really try any other entertainment other than the hotels.
The beach was quite clean although sometimes there was rubbish lying along the front of the shore and there could be a problelm with jelly fish. We were there for 2 weeks and only saw them on two occassions.
I would definatly go back to Es Canar again , it has good shops and there is also the Hippy Market to visit so it is in an ideal location.

Es Cana is a lovely resort with a number of shops and restaurants to suit all. Although there were a few small childrens fairground rides, there wasn't a great deal else for our children to do, which restricted us to the hotel. We did visit Santa Elaulia which we commuted to via the ferry (6.50 euros return for adults) and also the bus (1.10 euros each way, small children free)well worth it. We would recommend this for an alternative beach and a change of scenery, also some nice shops and restaurants. Alternatively, Cala Nova Beach which is a ten minute walk from the Atlantic Hotel.

Es Canar is a lovely little resort that has plenty of bars, shops, entertainment and activities going on without being 'over the top'. The Hippy Market on a Wednesday is definitely worth a visit and you can walk to it from most hotels. There are trips by boat to Ibiza, San Eulalia etc or you can take the bus (much cheaper and not as sickly !)
Probably not the resort for the 18 somethings (Ibiza or San Antonio would be better) but excellent for families and those of non clubbing age!

Es Cana is a very relaxing resort, plenty to do if you want to otherwise, just relax on the beach and enjoy the sun. Nighttime entertainment in 'Charlies' was excellent.

We had lunch at various restaurants in the area and I tried the speciality, Spanish omelette of which the potato content was frozen chips! The resort itself is lovely, well-situated and plenty to do. However, the locals weren't all that sociable even though we tried to speak Spanish whenever we could (basic). We stayed in Gran Canaria 2 years ago and the locals were brilliant, and they love kids. We got ignored half the time.
I definitely would not go back, to the hotel, resort or to Ibiza. Big disappointment. If I'd had the money, I would have flown home early.

Nice compact resort with lovely beach & plenty of watering holes! Ideal for families.

Nice resort. Plenty to do. Lots of bars. Was busy when we were there in July. Wonderful firework display on fiesta day. Lots of shops to look around.
