the resort is small and quiet, one road in and one road out. there is a train 3 days a week with a must-do visit to portinax.there is a lovely snack bar on the beach with great views and toasties too.
the best pub in any holiday resort is the "happy friars" ran by sarah and toby it is a real family bar as they have a small daughter themselves so cater for kids brilliantly.their food is great and they are very welcoming although watch toby's mad cocktails, lethal!!!!
if you don't want a wild resort go for san miguel

The beach was lovely with plenty of things to do, canoing, fishing, sailing, there was also a boat trip twice a day, the only down side to the beach it was covered in cig ends.

A short walk up the road past the hotel are the caves which are fantastic and would recommend a visit to them.

The resort is small and isolated if you come here looking for clubbing forget it. For family and kids its ideal,a nice sheltered bay great beach and safe. Not much in the way of shops our nightlife. All you need is sun but we didn`t get a lot.would I go back again but of course

The resort is very picturesque, very clean but very small. If you like to browse around the shops or go for a stroll in the evening it's not the resort for you - It's miles from anywhere. A few bars are scattered around but not much else.

The beach is nice but the entrance to the sea is quite shelved with loose shingle so can be tricky to negotiate if your not steady on your feet. Once in the sand is better.

The water gets deep quickly so keep an eye on the kids.

Being two young single girls, I can't say the location was ideal as at night there wasn't that much to do - but then it is a family resort.

The entertainment staff were really funny - and the La Bomba song is totally addictive! On Monday night there was an 80s party at a nearby bar which was fun. There are buses to San Antonio but the last one is at 1am. This resort is ideal for families as everything you need is so close.

There was plenty to do during the day with the entertainment staff and we went canoeing in the sea aswell which was so much fun!

To be honest all we really wanted was to eat, drink, read our books and sunbathe and thats exactly what we did. The fact that one of the waiters looks exactly like Joey from friends and that Zorro was lovely and had the most gorgeous eyes Ive ever seen made our stay more interesting! :-)

Overall a great hotel for families! If you have any other questions feel free to PM me.

The resort of San Miguel is very small with only a few hotels and apartments, but for a family relaxing holiday it is ideal. the beach is lovely and kept very clean.

You cannot put a fault to the resort. It was always clean and safe for the kids to go down to the beach by themselves. Like last year the watersports were there and because they were in the all inclusive package, we could go on them when we wanted to which was a good laugh.

By the beach there are a couple of restaurants and a cafe which were brilliant. Also a few shops which sold everything you needed from water to alcohol. If you had a wonder further up the road, you would find some more restaurants and bars as well which was always a good change of scenery!

When I have the money to, I plan to move out to San Miguel and live there, as thats how mcuh I like it there!
