I was worried about past bad reports on this hotel. Anyone who goes there will have no worries at all.

The hotel was being cleaned from first thing in the morning to last thing at night.

The food was very good you would have a choice of 3 meats or fish at lunch and evening meals no problems with the food whatsoever.

Location of the hotel it was slightly set back off the main road but in walking distance to wherever you wanted to go, a free mini-bus service to the beach which ran every 30 mins which was always on time.

The only problem we came across was the adults let the children run a bit wild while they sat down and had a drink, but it's the parents not the hotel that are to blame.

As for the sunbeds well there were some people waiting for them to open in the mornings at 9am, putting towels down on them.. But I always managed to find an odd bed, but even if you don't there are plenty of chairs to sit on.

The pool did get rather full at times as it is only a small pool but you can always go over to the island where there are more beds, chairs and another small pool.

The drinks were ok, I have had better and have had worst.

I would advise anyone to take insect spray with them as there are a lot of flies around due to the lake that does not belong to the hotel and that is a bit smelly on times.

I advise to anyone that goes here enjoy your holiday and don't be too put off by the bad reports some people want 5* for 3* prices

I was a bit worried before going after reading reports about poor food, drink, problems with sunbeds & rowdy unattended children etc. I had absolutely nothing to worry about.

We found the food to be very good and there was always plenty of choice and food suitable for us & our 2 kids (5 & 8) for b/fast, lunch & dinner. It seems that there is late night snacks available in the restaurant up till midnight but we weren't aware of this for the first week. Once the kids got wind of this however, they were happy to have toasties etc there if they needed at night.

Some days were busier round the pool than others but we never had a problem getting a sun bed or umbrella. We chose to relax at the pool at the hotel rather than the Island just because it was easier for the kids. We did try it once but I found the snacks at the island to be limited choice and not as good as the delicious food in the restaurant. There are no snacks available at the hotel pool during the day which was a problem for some people. At least it meant that the pool area was always clean with no trodden on chips and half eaten burgers kicking around.

I found the all-inclusive drinks to be very good - except the wine - which I drank at dinner anyway. The lager is the same as normal draught lager at home and the spirits were certainly not watery as some reports mentioned. I never encountered queues at the bar except at last orders which is normal in any bar in any part of the world!

The hotel was extremely clean and tidy and the staff very helpful and all spoke very good English.

There was a wee man who came round the pool and picked up litter throughout the day. The pool had a lifeguard all day which was good. Things are quite strict at this hotel which I found to be good. The pool area closes at 6pm sharp so that cleaning can get done for night entertainment. T-shirts are now allowed in the pool (for safety reasons). This just made me more conscious of covering kids in sun cream all the time. Kids not allowed in dining room without adults. No food to be taken from the restaurant & I did see the staff stopping people who tried.

The entertainment was ok - plenty of activities around the day for kids & adults. I'm not generally a great fan of Hotel Cabaret style entertainment but it was ok. And everyone has to play bingo - it's just part of being on holiday!! Alternatively you can enjoy a drink indoors on the sofas.

There was the odd time when children got a bit rowdy. This was dealt with by the hotel staff. I also was a bit loud one night after a G&T too many and was told off by the Reception staff!! Quite right too!!

There is a nice pub/restaurant round the corner 'The Jolly Rodger' which has pool tables and a swimming pool for customers' use. It was quiet and relaxing and the pool there was never busy. It was nice to go there for a change of scene around 4pm for a drink, a game of pool and a dip.

In general I found Alcudia to be ok. The Lagomonte is at the very back of the resort and in a quiet area away from all the hustle & bustle of the busy pub & shop area. This was exactly what we wanted.

I felt we got great value for money. We spent under

Was moved to this hotel 3 days in to holiday from another hotel so never read bad reviews.

I would say my holiday really got started at this hotel after our disappointing start.

Staff very helpful and friendly.

Hotel cleaning staff worked very hard all day and night place always spotless.

Entertainment staff was brilliant.

Food was of good standard.

Liked the island pool best.

Lovely walk to beach through main resort or could get shuttle bus.

Never had any trouble with bullying, kids made lots of nice friends as did us adults, found the other guests friendly.

Liked the laundry could take my clothes home clean and the cost was very cheap.

I don't know how people found bad things to say. I would recommend this hotel to anyone with children always something for them to do.

We were the first guests of this season and can assure future guests they are visiting an excellent hotel. The hotel has been totally revamped over the winter including all new exterior furniture. All the hotel staff are excellent and very proffesional, cleanliness seams to be an obsession with every part of the hotel from the frontgate to the top floor being cleaned every single day.

The food that we initially thought was very good had lost its appeal by the end of the first week but it was certainly in plentiful supply with lots of choice and burgers etc. are available on the island as a change of routine(loved by the kids.)

The inhouse entertainment team who may be considered by some to be a little lacking were on the whole very good with a total dedication towards trying to keep the children happy and entertained, All in all we had a fantastic family holiday, we were deprived of our childrens company for a lot of the time due to their insistance on enjoying themselves with the entertainment team which forced us to relax and sunbathe at the side of the pool.

2 words of warning to parents, the pool is deceptively deep in parts and the ground floor of the hotel is decorated with a lot of full lenght dangerous mirrors which several children and adults walked/ran into during our stay. Enjoy!

We were the last guests in the hotel due to it closing for end of season, we were not warned of this when booking and ended up in a ghost town.

On our last day we did not leave till 8.30pm there were very little shops open, few pubs and not many restaurants.

The hotel did not provide us with an evening meal on our last day neither was the pool bar open. Drinks machines were turned off and although we had paid for all inclusive we actually had to purchase drinks from a vending machine.

On the Saturday night before our holiday finished on the Sunday we were actually told that the restaurant was to be closed but as all the guests complained we were "invited" to dinner with the staff, this was not an enjoyable evening because we were made to feel like intruders on their night.

Another thing was whilst we were waiting during the day our time to leave they were whitewashing the windows of the hotel down all ready for the closure. There were no sunbeds, and only one couch for us to sit on as the rest had been locked away.

All in all I would not go back.

After reading some of the comments about this hotel I was really put off about going on holiday there. Some of the comments said that the food was awful and as my family had paid for all inclusive I started to panic.

When we arrived after the 1 and half hours on the coach which was a downfall, we where greeted by the reception staff which where great and spoke very good English.

The rooms where basic and could do with decorating but they where very clean and maids come in every day with clean towels.

The food at the hotel was excellant; they also had a pool bar on the island where you could get something to eat when the main restaurant was closed.

The hotel was in a good location you could walk to the shops and bars at night which was nice. The only downside is the pools which I think should be a little larger, the main pool can get busy but the pool on the island is much quieter.

Hi this is Paul & Julie from hartlepool we stayed in the lagamonte hotel in alcudia july/aug 04, the hotel itself was very clean and the staff were very helpful, the food was of a high standard and there were always times in the day to enjoy the variety of meats, veges, salads and fruits, the hotel has two swimming pools the main one sited on the hotel grounds and the other based on an island across the road from the hotel both were kept very clean.
The location of the hotel is very good you can take a fithteen minute walk to the beach taking in the sovenier shops, bars and scenery, or if you want to get to the beach with less effort theres a shuttle bus that runs every half hour the driver was always pleasant and took care driving on this short five minute journey.
The entertainment on the night was pretty good for young children, teenagers and adults " get your table early though if you want a good veiw".the entertainment crew put in great effort to please all.
One thing I was not looking forward to was the local drinks but I was very suprised with the selection to choose from" try a cocktail or two or three or four... these worked for me, the lager aint too bad either. The bar staff were great and very efficient especialy the little lass el bosso " move along the bar please".
In all it was a very enjoyable holiday in a very nice location, I would recomend this hotel to families and would definetely consider returning for another break.

We have just returned from a very enjoyable holiday at the Lagomonte Hotel. The hotel is very clean although the furnishings are now showing signs of age. The room was a double with single bed which was plenty big enough for the 3 of us in the room. I was fortunate to have a room on the first floor which enabled us to use the stairs as the lifts were VERY small only holding a maximum of 4 people without luggage! The food was extremely good with plenty of choice. Also the bar was very good, plastic cups used during the day but glass in the evening, the queues for the bar were not too bad, except for just prior to the bingo at 9.30pm! There are two pools at this hotel both very small and crowded, no chance of a sunbed unless you rise very early in the morning. However, the beach is only a short distance away, with plenty of sunbeds at a cost of 3.75euros per day, sea lovely and warm. The hotel is situated in an ideal spot, close enough to the shops to walk but in a quiet area. This hotel is very much a family hotel and I would not recommend anyone without children to go here, as I have never seen so many children in one place before!! I would return to this hotel although I would definitely give August a miss!

The location of the hotel was good as it was in a quiet area but close enough to the town for shops, bars and restaurants if you wanted them. The staff were excellent. The receptionists always heplful, the bar staff always pleasant and the cleaners always cleaning - I have never seen bins emptied so many times in one day! The food was also good with plenty of choice and always well cooked, even the chef smiled and was very pleasant. The entertainment was ok but some left a lot to be desired although they tried hard! Not much for teenagers here as most amenities were geared to young families. All in all a very good hotel, we met some lovely people and we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday.

Lagomonte is fantastic! I have just returned from 2 weeks there and would love to go back. It has a gorgeous location and good clean facilities. All the staff are friendly, right from reception to the lifeguard! Meals and entertainment have a 2 week cycle so you don't get bored and the entertainment guys really try hard to keep everyone interested. I had read reports that you had to queue early for a sunbed, but I never had a problem getting one I just went out for about five to nine, just before they unlocked them. Queue early if you want a more comfortable one. I have no complaints, this is a great place to go to relax after a hard year's work!
