First time at an all inclusive hotel and to be honest we were pleasantly surprised. Food was excellent, plenty of variety and always well presented and cooked meals were piping hot whilst the salads were nice and fresh and really "clean".

Drinks were international brands apart from the likes of Jack Daniels which you had to pay for. Room was good with a king size bed and a camp bed for our son.

Staff were extremely pleasant and were very helpful. The entertainment was a bit hit and miss, some acts being very good and some pretty bad.

Plenty of sunbeds available so no having to get up at the crack of dawn to get one. We were there for a week which I think was long enough do not think I would like to do 2 weeks, saying that we are planning to go back for week this time next year.

First impressions was wow, what a lovely lobby, marble and spacious. Unfortunately the corridors and bedroom floors let it down as they are carpeted and very worn out and dirty, shame they couldn't replace them with tiles, as it makes a lovely building look tatty.

The hotel on the whole is clean, nice pool area and pleasantish staff, they do, as others have mentioned tend to ignore you if Spanish or German guests come to the bar or reception, it is very irritating to say the least, especially when it happens a few times in one week!!

We had pre booked 2 adapted rooms as my dad and son are both in wheelchairs, please note apart from the bathroom door being large enough to allow access for wheelchairs once there don't expect much more than a couple of handrails and a slightly lower bath than the standard one. Not a UK equivalent adapted room.

Also, we were not informed before booking that only 2 tables out of all the tables in the restaurant are wide enough to take a wheelchair. This became a major problem each meal time, as anyone could sit at them, not realising they were any different, sometimes the waiters would put a reserved on them, but this was hit and miss. It took 3 days before our family could finally sit together, as they wouldn't at first put the tables together (they were at opposite sides of the restaurant) All the other tables must be of a very small size (to get more in restaurant) as we don't usually have to have special tables in any other restaurant, even the plastic patio tables we can use.

The other problem for wheelchair users are as follows:-

1, no disabled toilet in public areas, you have to go
back to your room
2, no access to the rocky cove(not a beach!!) at back
of hotel, steps only
3, no access to the tennis courts, mini golf, etc, steps
only

On departure day we had to almost beg and get 2 reps
to plead that we could keep the rooms on as we weren't being picked up to go to airport until 5.00pm. So with no disabled toilet you can imagine the problem, the hotel staff were VERY un-sympathetic, kept banging on about hotel being full!! Not what I wanted to hear, I promptly said that they shouldn't advertise that their hotel is wheelchair friendly when they cannot even provide ONE toilet!!

I would not rate food in restaurant, it was ok ish, salad was good, but poor quality and choice most days.

The pool snack bar was ok, but cold burgers etc.

The bar is well stocked and provide local and international brands as part of the all inclusive.

On the whole I would say this is a good 3*, definitely not a 4*. Pleasant and spacious, but lacks atmosphere. I would strongly recommend guests who are confined to wheelchairs to think long and hard before booking here, there are far better 3* hotels in the town that will accommodate you more comfortably, and not make you feel like your a burden.

For families who want a hotel out of the resort, about 30 min walk to town (without pushing a wheelchair)down hill, alot longer coming back!!Clean apart from grubby carpets, its ok, but I would say save you money and go to a cheaper 3* in the town.

First time at an all inclusive, and what a pleasant surprise. Hotel was superb as were all the staff. Room was spotless and plenty big enough for the 3 of us.

The bed was bigger than the one we had in Las Vegas which was another pleasant surprise. Was a little bit worried about the food etc but to be honest we could not complain at all. The quality and variety was another nice surprise.

The only complaint we had and this is only a small one, the entertainment was on some nights not upto much but on other nights was very good. Around the pool there was sufficient sunbeds and that was for most of the day.

We found the staff were really helpful and friendly. Getting a drink in any of the bars was easy and found we never had to wait during our stay.

Would we go back, definitely yes and hopefully we will be going back at the same time next year.

My husband and I stayed in this hotel in may we found the hotel very nice the food was fine and the entertainment was OK.

The only thing was it is a good half an hour's walk in to the centre.

It is nice hotel if you want a nice quiet relaxing holiday and if you want to stay in the hotel all the time we were all inclusive and had all our meals in the hotel every day.

The pool bar was fine for cold drinks but we did not eat at the outside bar thought the food was not up to much.

The rooms were very nice and very clean and big plenty of room.

The bar staff were nice and there was waiter service if you did not want to go to the bar.

Your choice if you want to tip or not but a euro now and again puts a smile on their face and keeps the drinks coming.

The pool is cold but I didn't think it was really cold
You also get to pick a night at the grill or Italian once a week we choose the grill the steak was spot on could not complain.

My husband, myself and our 2 children aged 7 and 11 months old and my mother went for 1 week at the Occidental Allegro Oasis. All inclusive.

Cheaper to book with Alpha rooms or med hotels.com and excel airways.

Get a taxi when you get there it isn't far at all.

We went for just a weeks break away from the awful winter weather in the UK.

We wasn't bothered about anywhere lively, but we like nice hotels.

This hotel was very good and as soon as we walked in the reception we were impressed. It was very palatial.

The rooms we were given were fantastic. We were so impressed when we walked in. The bathroom has double sinks.Spotlessly clean. The rooms are carpeted in cream so no noise from above you. The veranda was the biggest I have ever had in a hotel. The view! What a view. Overlooking the ocean. I wouldn't have liked to have been on the other side of the hotel as you would have been looking at the de salination plant. Not a pretty site. I think you see that from the family block. Try and get in the main hotel part as the views are better. We fortunately were given 2 rooms. My mother had booked a single but we asked for our 7 year old to be out with her for company. We shared a room with our 11 month old. The maids were so nice and put our little girls toys all lined up neat and tidy in her cot every day.

The beach isn't much of a beach but it is okay to go and sit for a while.

The hotel cleanliness is very good. The only dirt we noticed was on the bar canopy inside the hotel, it was dirty and could have done with a clean.

The food quality was excellent just not enough choice. Breakfast choice was great. There was snacks outside at lunch self service and they were okay.

The hotel location could have done with being slightly nearer Costa Teguise but we still enjoyed it.

The kids club was great and the team so dedicated and nice to the kids. We never saw our 7 year old.

All in all a great holiday.

Our 7 year old was crying on the plane as he loved it so much. We will go back again in October 2006.

The hotel itself was clean and tidy. The rooms were cleaned every day and on first impressions I thought this was going to be a fab hotel.

The head waiter is downright rude. The dining area is dis-organised if you want to eat 8pm onwards you have to que for 45mins and when you get into the dinning area half the tables are empty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!The food was ok.

The al a carte restaurantes are good and the staff are friendly.I complained to the management about the dining area who were very friendly, Christina was very professional and very helpful.

I would never visit an Occidental hotel again as this experience has put me off-I do not expect to queue for my evening meal for 45mins in a 4star hotel.

I would class this hotel as a 3star maximum.

We stayed all inclusive at the hotel which had pros and cons.

The food was occasionally excellent but mostly just 'not bad', however on a number of occasions there was very little choice for kids - one night a number of kids in the restaurant were straight onto the ice cream course !

The main hotel was nice and clean as was our room thanks to an excellent & friendly maid, however the lobby's and corridors in the family section were disgraceful and looked like the walls needed washed down or painted. Looked liked the plastic roof covers may have been left off and the sand and dirt allowed to accumulated for a period of time.

The staff disappointed me greatly. There were some very good ones, but I found myself being regularly ignored in favour of Spanish speaking guests both in the bar and on one infuriating occasion in Reception. If a Spanish person came to the bar after you, they usually were served first. Worse, the bars staff would ignore you or keep you waiting for your order whilst they chatted & laughed with Spanish guests or other bar staff in Spanish.

The entertainment was not bad, though the introductions were hard to follow as the compare had 3 to 4 languages to announce everything in. The kids activities were pretty good but some kids club personnel were better than others. One of them was very surly and didn't seem to want to have to deal with any kids who didn't understand her or who fell over. An odd job choice for her then !

Overall though a good hotel spoilt only by the state of the family section (especially compared to the main hotel) and the attitudes of a number of staff.

First of all, when we first arrived, our first impressions were wow! The hotel looked magnificent as soon as we walked in and was so clean it was unbelievable.

Rooms are also extremely clean and have plenty of air-conditioning. Rooms are nice and big.

The food was amazing. You had plenty of choice every night. Perfect for kids who are fussy as there is always something to choose from. I personally loved the food and enjoyed it every night and would go anytime again.

Staff were friendly and helpful at all times.

The entertainment was very good but more for kids who loved it but is still good just to see once or twice.

The only thing that let the hotel down was the location. There was only a few shops including a supermarket and another hotel around it but it only took a 10-15 min taxi ride to get to the resort centre
which was fantastic with shops, bars and restaurants and the taxi's were extremely cheap.

I would definitely recomend this hotel to anyone and would love to go again.

We were a bit worried about visiting this hotel after reading reviews on other sites, but we were very pleased when we arrived.

We had rooms in the main block with a pool and sea view, ( no sight of the sanitation plant which I believe the rooms in the family block overlooked)the room was large with a huge balcony, I sat and watched the sun rise one morning it was amazing, there was satellite TV, although only 2 English channels, a mini bar restocked every couple of days with water, soft drinks and beer and a carpeted floor, very clean and fresh towels and bedding every day if you want them.

The pool area was lovely, cleaned every night and always someone around clearing glasses and emptying ashtrays. There were 2 pools one was supposed to be heated although they both felt very cold to me, not a problem as we are not really pool people. Plenty of sunbeds even though people were putting towels out before it got light in the mornings.

The beach bar was good, you helped yourself to tea, coffee, beer wine and sangria, or the barman would mix you a cocktail or short (which were not really 'short' at all)

The food was ok, burgers, chips, hotdogs, salads, chicken, baguettes and toasted sandwiches, all self service so again no queues. This was good if you just wanted a snack late afternoon instead of a big lunch, as the food was available until 5pm

The beach was very small and quite rocky, but it was never busy, ok for an hour or two but as there were no sunbeds we took a taxi to the resort were the beach was lovely.

The food in the hotel was good, buffet style in the main restaurant, plenty of choice for all meals, there was wine, beer and sangria as well as the normal tea, coffee and soft drinks on tap, and the desserts were amazing, we ate far too much and now are all desperately trying to loose the 1/2 stone or more we gained. There were 2 al-a-carte restaurants a grill and an Italian, we tried the grill but were disappointed as there was no steak on the menu only chicken and lamb, the service was good our waitress was very funny and couldn't do enough for us.

The main bar area was very nice, plenty of seating with sofa's in quieter areas, and a pool and fountain in the middle of the room.

The bar staff were lovely, Baily our waiter kept our glasses filled every night, there was never any queues at the bar. The entertainment was average, a good show for about an hour at 10pm but otherwise just a band singing some very golden oldies! They did have a children

This is the first time we have stayed all inclusive and we were delighted we did. Everything you could possibly want is included in the price from bottled water to champagne cocktails. The hotel was impeccably clean, staff took a pride in the hotel and were always cleaning. The pool was cleaned every night at mid-night because my husband and I used to see the poor soul whose job it was, when we took our stroll before bed. In the ladies toilet one morning a guest was complaining to me about the lack of cleanliness because someone had unrolled toilet paper allover the a cubicle. I had seen the cleaner coming out of the toilets only minutes before and a couple of "boisterous" children going in after her. The hotel couldn't be expected to have someone in there for 24 hours a day because some parents cannot supervise their children properly. I suppose you can't please everybody but the staff at the Oasis certainly tried their best to do so.

The food was both plentiful and of wide variety. All meals were buffet. Breakfasts were either full English, continental, boiled eggs, croissants either chocolate filled or plain, (I noticed a number of Spanish guests filled small bowls with chocolate sauce and dipped their croissants into these), doughnuts, fresh fruits, yoghurts and every choice of breads possible which you could toast yourself or the staff did it for you. You also helped yourself to coffee, tea (including a full range of herbal), juices and bottled water. Lunch also had good variety, choice of various meats, pasta, chips, fish, salads, soup and the desserts were to die for, finishing off with cheese (at least 6 choices) and crackers. Self service wine either white, rose or red was available, together with lager and the usual fresh juices, coke, diet coke, fanta, sprite and bottled water and tea or coffee. Dinner would also offer the same vast array of choices with a grill offering either, steak, chicken, turkey, pork, veal and enormous pans of paella and black rice. Vegetables ranged from broccoli to beautiful creamed potatoes. I could write a whole article alone just stating the variety of food available but despite what you may think that was only a small enjoyable part of the holiday. The whole place was very peaceful, there were children staying but not that many but for those who were, there was something for them to do all the time. There were activities for the tiny tots, teenagers and adults, if you wanted to partake. No pressure was applied. There were demonstrations on how to cook paella and make sangria, a fashion show, various competitions ranging from shuffle board to pistol shooting. Evening entertainment was varied consisting of a main act followed by different bands which played music to dance to. The pool bar offered drinks all day long and chips, sandwiches, burgers, salads, hot-dogs, baguettes and fried chicken. Ice cream was available all day to everyone together with any type of drink, mostly self service unless you wanted cocktails etc.and the barman would willingly mix anything you asked for. The staff constantly tied up after the guests and there was always a clean table or seat available. Sunbeds were plenty despite some people insisting on putting towels down early and it wasn't just Germans.

The communal areas were comfortable, spacious and well cared for. After dinner the entertainment would be provided in the lobby bar. The pleasant and helpful waiters were only too pleased to bring your drinks and as soon as your glass was empty they would appear from nowhere asking if you wanted a refill. They worked long arduous hours and greeted everyone with a smile.

The rooms were both spacious and comfortable, tv, minibar, plenty storage, safe, double sink in dressing area and separate bathroom and all rooms had very large balcony overlooking the sea. The bedroom area is carpeted in cream and the d
