We bokked privilige service rooms for this holliday, not particulaly well highlighted on the FC website however below is what you over and above normal service.

Express check in, to be whisked out of the large line to a separate desk invited to have a seat ect was superb, the look on the faces of the other people checking in said it all.

Room upgrade with direct sea view and terrace with free safe, fridge and robes/slippers was pleasant, we later complained about the fact that the AC wasnt working to be told it wasnt switched on in the resort until April, to compenstae they delivered a fan within 10 mins. After 1 more day we could bear it know more and they upgraded us to a suite, lovely.

Privilege Lounge. This was quite superb, more akin to a Airline lounge with it's own large terrace overlooking the resort towards the sea, two computers with free internet, plenty of arm chairs and couches and of course a free help your self bar, very well stocked.

Food. This is where the Privilege srvice comes into it's own, whilst I'm sure the food in the main part of the complex is great sitting with 500 everyday didnt apeal so to eat in the Ala Carte restraunt was a delight for both breakfast and dinner, also you get a vip area in the poolside bar with waiter service.

In summary this was a great hotel, only negative was lack of heated Paul, counted no more than 15 people in any of the many pools they have here.

The Hotel was lovely and clean all the time and staff were very helpful and polite. When we first arrived the room we were allocated was not in a nice area of the complex, even though the room was good, we informed reception immediately and thay gave us another room, no problem at all, which was excellent. The complex was lovely plenty of swimmimg pools , one heated, entertainment all day long if you wanted it, we did'nt went to relax, but the entertainment team work really hard all day, always pleasant, happy and friendly. The mini club for children was brilliant my grand daughter was in there every day, they could even stay for lunch if you wanted them to. In the evening we started with the mini disco run by the hotel team which was great and followed on some nights by shows for the children ie; Parrot show, reptiles , birds of prey really good. This was then followed by reasonably good adult entertainment some by the staff some from outside. There was a good variety of food well worth going all inclusive, but could perhaps get a bit repetive if you were there for 2 weeks, drinks were local but we found the wine and spirits ok. We walked to Playa Blanca along the prom took about 35mins lovely walk town ok but not a lot there . Overall a good holiday weather not brilliant but warmer than here would definately go back again.

The Rubicon was an excellent hotel and the food was even better. We paid extra for a sea view and what a room, we had our own balcony with seats and loungers with cushions so if we wanted privacy we had it. A car took us from the impressive receiption to our room as it is a complex of villa type buildings dotted around the sea front. There was plenty of sunbeds at all times and plenty of swimming pools to dunk in. The pool bar which served afternoon food was also fantastic. Beer and soft drinks on tap proper coke, tango etc.
The only bug was the courtesy room which was not a room but a row of showers and two sinks - not very private as was very busy even though booked a slot!

This is the 2nd time we have stayed here (May 2008 / August 2009) We enjoyed it the first time enough to return but have to say that it was even better the 2nd time due to the animation team being fantastic fun. They are worth their weight in gold... never a dull moment. You could join in whenever you wanted or have quiet time if you pleased. (Martin and Walter were like H10 Morcambe and Wise - very very funny together) The hotel was very clean, and spread out so you never felt it was too busy - even in august. The food as ever was fantastic, although some of the drinks were local brands (Gin was Gordons and Whiskey was Ballantines, however everything else was local unless you upgraded you AI to green band - an additional 9 euro pppd. The first week the ratio British / Spanish was about 50:50 and the second week 30:70 - so popular hotel with the Spanish too although good fun. Enjoyed so much will be returning again next summer.

We all had a great time here the food was fantastic and hotel grounds were clean and the room was made spotless every day by the maids. A lot of Spanish people in the hotel for the first half of the week followed up by Brits in the second half. The only thing that let the hotel down was the entertainment (IMO) they catered for the Spanish moe so than the British and everything was repeated at the sametime every day with the same music so by the end of the week you knew the order of the songs!! All said and done we are already looking at booking again next year which is the first time i can say that about any other holiday-it was great!!!!

My fiance & I went to this hotel at the start of January 09 & we had a fab time. Hotel grounds were absolutely beautiful, all spaced out very well. The food was great, always plenty to eat, I can be quite a fussy eater but I always found plenty to choose from & it was always superb! The staff were great too (apart from one grumpy bar manager, but I only ever saw him once!). Hotel was very clean & they keep the grounds very well, while we were there there was maintenance teams giving some areas a freshen up with paint (not that it interfered with our holiday at all). The entertainment team at this hotel were fantastic, seemed to work all day & always had a smile on their face. Then some nights they also put a show on, which was always very funny, & even seemed to keep both adults & kids amused. We will be returning later this year & plan to take the rest of our family. I would recommend it to anyone, they seemed to have something for all ages.

We spent Christmas and the New Year at the Rubicon Palace which we have stayed at three times before. Last year we stayed at the Timafray Palace also a H10 hotel. We have enjoyed our stay at both Hotels.
Each year we fill out forms for their H10 Club and each year nothing happens. No new card arrives, no points for our stays at the hotels and no benefits.
When we booked our holiday we asked for ground floor room but the room which had an excellent sea view had four flights of stairs to navigate in order to reach the dinning room. No good if you have a bad leg and asthma. They did change our room for one with only a few steps and a view over the pool.
Has anyone else had problems with their H10 cards or are they just a myth.

re the staff in the dining room they where excellent empty plates where moved often when you had just completed your items of food. The record was 3 seconds.
the entertaiment was poor but you have other venues to drink thus this caused no problems would i go again yes but with either friends or family.

We arrived at the Rubicon Palace around 10pm at night and from the bus it looked very impressive. Walking in through the doors the reception is to your right hand side. We were checked in very quickly and efficiently and our upgrade to All Inclusive was very smooth. Within around 10 minutes we were walked to our room with a staff member who was very informative about when the pool bar opened and closed. There is a safe in the room which costs 30

We were allocated a Club Palace room (due to problems encountered last year - see previous post). I can't really see a lot of difference in the rooms - the furnishings were slightly better and we had a samsung flat screen tv. We were also given free use of the fridge and some other benefits. The Club Palace rooms however, as they are so much closer to the sea get extremely windy and at times so much so you can not sit out on the balcony - our room last year was closer to the hotel and therefore more sheltered. Room was fine although a little squashed with two doubles and two singles (1 z bed and one chair convertible).

Food - can't see what people complain about - there is so much choice for breakfast lunch and dinner and usually of a good quality and staff always bringing out trays of more food - apart from last half hour when they start to maybe run out of some items. Although will cook you fresh fried eggs/pancakes/omlettes right up till end of breakfast time. We always had lunch in the main dining room (on the right) rather than the snacks from the pool bar. We got to the point during the second week when we actually didn't want to eat we were always so full!! No idea how you can get bored with so much choice - there are more items to choose from than on a normal restaurant menu!! Ok it may not all be 'English' but I like to try the various dishes that are a bit different - some I like some I don't - but never short of choice!

Entertainment - ok not quite west end but they tried their best and it was usually ok for the hour it lasted. Starlight Express was interesting but because majority of audience were Spanish not sure if they understood what was happening. Most entertainment was in fact in English. There was a magic show, Abba Mania, Brazilian Dancers, Quiz Nights etc.,

Sunbeds - as Grovee says it got busier during the second week of August although there were always sunbeds spare but not always with umbrellas. We usually stayed around the large pool as the boys loved playing in it and once they had acclimatised to the coolness (!) they stayed in there for hours!

There are a few tiles missing from around the pool area but I can't imagine what a hassle it would be to close the pools down for a week to do maintenance! Probably easier to put up with the few moans they may get!

I didn't have any problems with the spanish guests - they all seemed fine and some where even very polite and spoke to us. A couple of the men were infact very charming!

Not a day went by without seeing some maintenance happening - renewing the 'cactus beds', putting up new fencing around the perimeter, replacing light fittings, window cleaning, sweeping, repairing.

The Directors of the hotel were often seen in the general areas inspecting and were totally friendly and would say hello and chat.

For the amount of people passing through I think they do an amazing job. The receptionists were always courteous and pleasant, the bellboy that took us to our room always waved every time he saw us after that, every member of staff who passed you along the paths wished you an 'hola' or buenos dias - or some other greeting.

We usually sat in the same area of the restaurant and Yilda the waitress would always be so pleasant and brought us our coffee without us having to ask for it. Always ensured we had enough cutlery and napkins.

We encountered the odd large bug/beetle/insect and even had a lizard visit our room - but this is a hot country and these are to be expected. I have ants in my back garden and flies sometimes come in to my house - so I am not surprised when I encounter these abroad. I either ask for spray or go and buy my own to deal with them.

We would definitely go back. I would recommend this hotel to all.
